Yu-Gi-Oh![edit]

Battle City[edit]

  • In episode 61, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Arkana. He summons this card in Defense Position. Arkana then activates "Ectoplasmer" as part of his strategy to bypass this card and inflict damage to Yugi and win the Duel though his attempt to use the effect of "Ectoplasmer" to Tribute "Dark Magician" and inflict half its ATK as damage to Yugi was thwarted by the effect of "Ectoplasmer" allowing Yugi to Tribute his "Dark Magician" and negate the damage he would have taken. In the next episode, this card and "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" are destroyed by the effect of "Shadow Balance".
  • In episode 66, this card is shown in Yami Yugi's hand during his Duel against Strings while the latter was possessed by Marik Ishtar. In the next episode, Yami Yugi summons this card in Defense Position. The second mouth effect of "Slifer the Sky Dragon" then activates, reducing the DEF of this card by 2000. "Slifer the Sky Dragon" then attacks and destroys this card.
  • In episode 82, this card appears in a flashback Joey has when he passes by Odion (posing as Marik) and remembers Marik possessing him to Duel Yami Yugi and get what Marik desires.

Virtual World[edit]

  • In episode 99, this card appears when Yami Yugi was building his Virtual World Deck for his Duel against Gansley.
  • In episode 112, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Tag Duel with Joey against the Big Five. He summons this card in Defense Position. On Yami Yugi's next turn, he Tributes this card in order to Tribute Summon "Dark Magician Girl".
  • In episode 117, Yugi uses this card during his duel against Noah Kaiba. He adds this card from his Deck to his hand via the effect of "Sangan". Later Yugi summons this card in Defense Position. In the next episode, Noah summons "Inaba White Rabbit", but Yugi activates "Dark Renewal" to Tribute this card and "Inaba White Rabbit" in order to revive "Dark Magician".

Battle City Finals[edit]

  • In episode 129, this card can be seen in Yugi's hand during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. In the next episode, Yugi summons this card in Defense Position. "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" then attacks and destroys this card. Yugi then activates "Soul Rope" to Special Summon "King's Knight" from his Deck. Yugi then activates the effect of "King's Knight" to Special Summon "Jack's Knight".
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is seen in a flashback Yugi has when he remembers the last time he used "Exchange" and how the latter card helped him save Joey from Marik's mind control.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card is seen in a flashback Yugi has when he reminds himself that "Exchange" may have helped him get "Slifer the Sky Dragon" into his hand, but it also helped Kaiba too.
  • In episode 140, Yugi uses this card during his duel against Yami Marik. He summons this card in Defense Position. On Yugi's next turn, he Tributes this card in order to Tribute Summon "Dark Magician Girl". In the next episode, this card appears in a series of flashbacks that Marik has when he remembers all the bad things he did to Yami Yugi(using his Rare Hunters to try and defeat him and even using Yugi's closest friends as a threat in order to get what he believes is rightfully his). He then wonders why Yami Yugi is so forgiving to him despite all of the things he did previously. In the following episode, Yugi banishes this card in order to activate "Ragnarok". This card was then shown as one of the many monsters that were used to hold down Yami Marik's "The Winged Dragon of Ra".
  • In episode 144, this card is shown when Téa and Serenity go through a park. They see this card under the control of a kid Dueling another kid. The latter kid Tributes this card in order to Tribute Summon "Summoned Skull".
    • This card also appears in a flashback Téa has when she remembers the gang seeing the God cards for the first time aboard the Battle Ship.

Waking the Dragons[edit]

  • In episode 160, this card is seen in a flashback Yami Yugi has when he saw that his own monsters were angry at him for his selfish actions and when he lost his Duel with Rafael.
  • In episode 162, during Yami Yugi's Duel against Weevil Underwood, Yugi draws this card through the effect of "Berserker Soul". This card was the third card Yami Yugi drew through the effect of "Berserker Soul". Yugi then sends this card to the Graveyard to allow "Breaker" to attack directly again.
  • In episode 163, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Yugi Muto. He summons this card in Defense Position. Later "Dark Magician Girl" (whose ATK was 3000 due to "The Seal of Orichalcos" and "Magic Formula") attacks and destroys this card.
    • This card is also shown when Ironheart picks this card up from the ground after Yami Yugi drops his Deck while being flung from the train after dueling Weevil.
  • In episode 175, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Rafael. He summons this card in Defense Position. Yami Yugi then switches "Dark Magician" to Defense Position. "Guardian Eatos" then attack "Dark Magician", but Yami activated "Magical Hats" to create four hats and hide his monsters within two of them. "Guardian Eatos" then destroys a hat and it's revealed to contain this card. In the next episode, Yami Yugi revives this card via the effect of "Underworld Circle". This card remained on the field until the Duel was over.
  • In episode 178, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Tag Duel with Kaiba against Dartz. In the next episode, "Orichalcos Malevolence" attacks "Different Dimension Dragon", but Kaiba activates "Attack Guidance Barrier" to redirect the attack to this card and boost this card's DEF by 600 until the End Phase. The attack fails, but Dartz's "Orichalcos Kyutora" negates the damage he would have received. This card's second effect then activates, switching it to Attack Position at the end of the Damage Step. On Dartz's End Phase, this card's DEF decreased to 2600. Later Yami Yugi switches this card to Defense Position. In the following episode, Dartz uses his "Orichalcos Malevolence's" effect to switch "Different Dimension Dragon" into Attack Position. "Orichalcos Malevolence" then attacks "Different Dimension Dragon", but Kaiba activates "Shrink" to halve "Malevolence"'s ATK, however Dartz uses the effect of "Orichalcos Tritos" to negate "Shrink" and destroy it. Yami Yugi then activates "Ambush Shield" to Tribute this card and increase the ATK of "Different Dimension Dragon" by this card's DEF until the End Phase. "Different Dimension Dragon" then destroys "Orichalcos Malevolence", but "Orichalcos Kyutora" negates the damage that Dartz would have taken.
  • In episode 182, Yami Yugi uses this card in the battle against The Great Leviathan. When the latter was about to attack the chosen Duelists and their summoned monsters, Yami Yugi has "Timaeus" absorb the power of this card to give protection to everyone. While this shield protected the chosen Duelists and the three Legendary Knights, the other monsters that the Chosen Duelists summoned were destroyed by the attack.
  • In episode 184, this card appears in a flashback Yami Yugi has when he remembers Rafael losing his soul due to the darkness in his heart corrupting his mind.

Grand Championship[edit]

  • In episode 193, Yugi uses this card during his duel against Vivian Wong. He summons this card in Defense Position. "Dragon Lady" (whose ATK was 2800 due to it being equipped with "Lightning Saber") then attacks this card, but Yugi activates "Mirror Force" to destroy "Dragon Lady", however Vivian activates "Snowfall Sword" to negate the effect of "Mirror Force" and destroy it. "Dragon Lady" then destroys this card. Vivian then uses the effect of "Lightning Saber" to halve the ATK of "Dragon Lady" until the End Phase and allow it to attack again.
  • In episode 196, this card is shown within Leon's backstory flashback when he explains how he became fascinated into Duel Monsters after discovering the game.
  • In episode 197, this card appeared in a flashback explained by Arthur Hawkins. He explains that there was a tournament several years ago that offered the "Golden Castle of Stromberg" card as the prize, but it was never meant to be used. This card can be seen being used in a tournament Duel between two Duelists.

Dawn of the Duel[edit]

  • In episode 200, this card appears within Yami Yugi's mind when Yami Bakura claims to him that his mind is an unsolvable maze and that he pursues games like riddles.
  • In episode 223, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Yugi. He predicts that he will draw this card on his Draw Phase. Yami Yugi then sees that he was correct, so he Normal Summons this card in Defense Position. Later "Summoned Skull" attacks this card. The attack fails, but this activates this card's second effect, switching it to Attack Position. "Curse of Dragon" then attacks and destroys this card.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX[edit]

  • In episode 1, Duel Academy examiner uses this card during an Entrance Exam Duel against Bastion Misawa. Aside from being on the field, this card didn't play any part in the duel.
    • This card is also shown being used by an unknown person when we see a montage of people trying to pass the Entrance Exams by Dueling examiners.
  • In episode 12, this card appears in a flashback Jaden Yuki has when he tells Bastion he was strong enough to be in his own league back at the entrance exams.
  • In episode 82, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Bastion has when he wonders why the Society of Light didn't challenge him despite him being a strong Duelist.
  • In episode 90, Damon uses this card during his duel against Mathmatica. Aside from being on the field, this card didn't play any actual role in the duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light[edit]

  • Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Kaiba. He Normal Summons this card in Defense Position. "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" then attacks and destroys this card.
