  • Static Shockwave is the name of Sparkman's attack in the dub, although Spark Storm has also been used. The video games substitute this attack name for Shining Surge Flash in the card text. In the original, the attack's name is Spark Flash.

Season 1[edit]

  • In episode 2, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Chazz Princeton. He summons this card in Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Chthonian Soldier". This activates the effect of "Chthonian Soldier", inflicting damage to Jaden equal to the Battle Damage that Chazz took. Later "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman" (who Chazz took control of via "Chthonian Polymer") attacks this card, but Jaden activates "Mirror Gate" to swap control of both battling monsters before damage calculation. "Flame Wingman" then destroys this card. "Flame Wingman" then inflicts damage to Chazz equal to this card's ATK.
  • In episode 4, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Chazz. He summons this card in Defense Position. Later Chazz activates the first effect of "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon" to banish this card from the field.
  • In episode 5, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Titan. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Elemental Hero Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant". In the next episode, Jaden activates "Monster Reincarnation" to add this card from the Graveyard to his hand. He then summons this card in Defense Position. On Jaden's next turn, he switches this card into Attack Position. He then equips this card with "Spark Blaster". Titan assumes he was going to use "Spark Blaster" on his "Skull Archfiend" due to the latter having 1200 DEF, but Jaden states he is not doing that. Jaden then uses this card to attack and destroy "Desrook Archfiend". Jaden then activates the effect of "Spark Blaster" to switch this card into Defense Position. Later "Skull Archfiend of Lightning" attacks and destroys this card.
  • In episode 7, Jaden uses this card during his practice duel against Syrus Truesdale. He summons this card in Attack Position. Jaden then uses this card to attack and destroy "Patroid". On Jaden's next turn, he activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant".
  • In episode 8, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Zane Truesdale. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant".
  • In episode 13, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Wheeler. He summons this card on the first turn of the duel. Wheeler then Normal Summons "Berserk Gorilla" and uses it to attack and destroy this card.
  • In episode 16, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Beauregard (who was disguised as The Duel Giant). After Jaden summons this card, he equips this card with "Spark Blaster". Jaden then activates the effect of "Spark Blaster" three times to switch "Giant Orc" into Defense Position and switch the two "Half Goblins" into Attack Position. After that resolves, "Spark Blaster" is destroyed. Jaden then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant". After "Thunder Giant" attacks and destroys a "Half Goblin", Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Thunder Giant" to the Extra Deck and revive this card and "Clayman". After "Clayman" attacks and destroys the last "Half Goblin", this card attacks and destroys "Goblin King", winning Jaden the duel.
  • In episode 18, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Dimitri while the latter was using Yugi Muto's deck. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant". In the next episode, Jaden activates "The Warrior Returning Alive" to add this card from the Graveyard to his hand. Jaden then summons this card. After "Flame Wingman" attacks and destroys "Dark Magician of Chaos" (with the help of "Skyscraper"), this card attacks and destroys a "Kuriboh Token". On Jaden's next turn, this card attacks directly, but Dimitri discards "Kuriboh" via its own effect to make the Battle Damage 0. This card remained on the field until the Duel was over.
  • In episode 20, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Blair Flannigan. He summons this card in Attack Position. This card then attacks "Avian" (who Blair took control of via "Cupid's Kiss"), but Blair activates "Defense Maiden" to redirect the attack to "Maiden in Love". Due to the latter's effect, it is not destroyed, but Blair still takes Battle Damage. At the end of the Damage Step, "Maiden in Love" places a Maiden Counter on this card. Blair then equips "Maiden in Love" with "Happy Marriage" and targets "Avian" for its effect, increasing the ATK of "Maiden in Love" by the ATK of "Avian". "Maiden in Love" then attacks this card. Due to the effect of "Maiden in Love", it is not destroyed, but Blair still takes Battle Damage. The effect of "Cupid's Kiss" then activates, allowing Blair to take control of this card. This card and "Avian" then attack directly. Later Jaden activates "Burst Return" to return this card and "Avian" to his hand.
  • In episode 21, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Bastion Misawa. After he summons this card, Jaden equips this card with "Spark Blaster". He then activates the effect of "Spark Blaster" effect to switch "Oxygeddon" into Defense Position. After "Burstinatrix" attacks and destroys "Oxygeddon", this card then attacks directly. On Jaden's next turn, he activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Bubbleman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest", but Bastion uses "Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell" to negate "Polymerization" and destroy it as well as forbid Jaden from activating it again for the remainder of the duel. In the next episode, Jaden switches this card into Defense Position. Later "Water Dragon" attacks and destroys this card.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card can be seen when Jaden is shown rebuilding his Deck for his duel against Bastion.
  • In episode 23, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Belowski. He summons this card in Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Mokey Mokey". Later "Happy Lover" attacks this card. This card then destroys "Happy Lover", but this activates the effect of "Mokey Mokey Smackdown", making the ATK of all "Mokey Mokey" 3000 until the End Phase. After "Elemental Hero Wildheart" attacks and destroys "Haniwa", this card attacks directly. Later Belowski uses "Mokey Mokey" (affected by "Mokey Mokey Smackdown") to attack this card, but Jaden activates "Hero Barrier" to negate the attack. Belowski then uses his third "Mokey Mokey" (also affected by "Mokey Mokey Smackdown") to attack and destroy this card.
    • This card is also shown when Jaden is shown rebuilding his Deck.
  • In episode 25, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Chazz. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Bubbleman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". Later Chazz activates the effect of "Armed Dragon LV5" to send "Despair from the Dark" from his hand to the Graveyard and destroy "Tempest", but Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Tempest" to the Extra Deck and revive this card, "Avian", and "Bubbleman". This makes the effect of "Armed Dragon LV5" resolve without effect as its original target was no longer on the field. "Armed Dragon LV5" then attacks and destroys this card.
    • While practicing for his Duel with North Academy's representative, Jaden summons this card, "Burstinatrix", "Clayman", and "Avian". Jaden tells his monsters to do their best for the upcoming Duel with the North Academy representative.
  • In episode 28, this card was shown in Jaden's hand during his duel against Gravekeeper's Chief. Jaden was forced to discard this card from his hand due to "Royal Tribute".
    • This card also appeared in a flashback Jaden has when it shows all the cards in Jaden's hand before "Royal Tribute" forced him to discard all the monsters in his hand.
  • In episode 30, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Nightshroud. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant". Later Jaden activates "Silent Doom" to Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. Jaden then uses the effect of "Fusion Gate" to banish this card, "Avian", and "Bubbleman" from his field and hand in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental HERO Tempest".
  • In episode 33, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Camula. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Bubbleman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". Later Jaden activates "Dark Factory of Mass Production" to add this card and "Avian" from his Graveyard to his hand. After Jaden Fusion Summons "Flame Wingman" via "Fusion Gate", Jaden uses the effect of "Fusion Gate" to banish "Flame Wingman" and this card from his field and hand in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman".
  • In episode 37, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Tania. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" and create "Thunder Giant". Later Tania activates "Amazoness Call" to return "Thunder Giant" to the Extra Deck and revive this card and "Clayman" under Jaden's control. Later this card attacks "Amazoness Swords Woman", but Tania activates "Amazoness Archers" to decrease the ATK of all of Jaden's monsters by 600 and force them all to battle. "Amazoness Swords Woman" then destroys this card. Both players then pay 100 Life Points to activate the effect of "Amazoness Arena", inflicting 100 damage to each other.
  • In episode 38, Jaden uses this card during his duel against the Admiral. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant". Later Jaden activates "The Warrior Returning Alive" to add this card from his Graveyard to his hand. He then Normal Summons this card in Attack Position. After the final effect of "Elemental Hero Neo Bubbleman" destroys "Levia-Dragon Daedalus", this card attacks directly, winning Jaden the duel.
  • In episode 40, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Abidos the Third. He adds this card from his Deck to his hand via "E - Emergency Call". Jaden then summons this card in Attack Position. After "R - Righteous Justice" is negated by "Magic Jammer", this card attacks and destroys "Pharaoh's Servant". After Abido two copies of "Pharaoh's Servant", and two copies of "Pharaonic Protector" via the effect of "Spirit of the Pharaoh", Jaden activates "Invincible Hero" to prevent this card from being destroyed by battle this turn. Abidos then activates "Thousand Energy" to increase the ATK of his two "Pharaoh's Servants" and two "Pharaonic Protectors" by 1000. "Spirit of the Pharaoh", the two "Pharaoh's Servants" and the two "Pharaonic Protectors" then attack this card. Due to the effect of "Invincible Hero", this card is not destroyed by any of the attacks, but Jaden still takes Battle Damage. Later Jaden activates "Hero Flash!!" to Special Summon "Burstinatrix" from his Deck and allow his Elemental HERO Normal Monsters to attack directly this turn. This card, "Avian", "Burstinatrix", and "Clayman" then attack directly, winning Jaden the duel.
  • In episode 46, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Amnael. He summons this card via "Hero Signal". This activates the effect of "Helios Trice Megistus", allowing it to attack again. "Helios Trice Megistus" then attacks and destroys this card.
  • In episode 48, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Kagemaru. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Bubbleman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". In the next episode, Jaden activates "Fusion Recovery" to return this card and "Polymerization" from his Graveyard to his hand. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Flame Wingman" in order to Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman". This card is shown when Jaden counts up the number of Elemental HERO monsters in his Graveyard Later "Raviel, Lord of Phantasms" (whose ATK was 7000 due to its own effect) attacks "Shining Flare Wingman" (whose ATK was 4600 due to its own effect), but Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Shining Flare Wingman" to the Extra Deck and revive this card and "Flame Wingman". The effect of "Raviel" then activates, Special Summoning two "Phantasm Tokens" to Kagemaru's side of the field. Kagemaru then uses "Raviel" and "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames" (whose ATK was 2000 due to its own effect) to attack and destroy "Flame Wingman" and this card respectively.
  • In episode 52, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Zane Truesdale. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Flame Wingman" in order to Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman". This card is then shown when Jaden counts up the number of Elemental HERO monsters in his Graveyard for the effect of "Shining Flare Wingman".

Season 2[edit]

  • In episode 53, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Aster Phoenix. He summons this card in Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Ojama Yellow". Laster Aster activates the effect of "Archlord Zerato" to destroy this card. On the last turn of the duel, Jaden activates "The Warrior Returning Alive" to return this card from his Graveyard to his hand. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Sparkman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". After "Tempest" attacks and destroys "Archlord Zerato" (with the help of the effect of "Tempest"), Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Tempest" to the Extra Deck and revive this card, "Avian", and "Bubbleman". All three of Jaden's monsters then attack directly, winning Jaden the duel.
  • In episode 57, Aster uses this card during his duel against Zane. After he summons this card, he equips this card with "Spark Blaster". After Aster activates "Guard Penalty", Aster activates the effect of "Spark Blaster" three times to switch "Cyber Twin Dragon" to Defense Position, then to Attack Position, and then back to Defense Position. After that resolves, "Spark Blaster" is destroyed. The effect of "Guard Penalty" then activates, allowing Aster to draw two cards since a monster was switched to Defense Position twice this turn. Aster then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer" in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman".
    • In the same episode, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Bastion. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Flame Wingman" in order to Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman".
  • In episode 58, Jaden and Aster both use this card during their duel against each other. Jaden activates "Polymerization" to fuse his copy with "Avian" and "Bubbleman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". Later Aster activates "Polymerization" to fuse his copy with "Phoenix Enforcer" in order to Fusion Summon "Shining Phoenix Enforcer". On Jaden's turn, he activates "Miracle Fusion" to banish this card and "Flame Wingman" from his Graveyard in order to Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman". In the next episode, Aster activates "Misfortune" to inflict damage to Jaden equal to half the original ATK of "Shining Flare Wingman", but Jaden activates "De-Fusion" and "Burial from a Different Dimension" with the latter two cards and "Misfortune" resolving in reverse order. First, "Burial from a Different Dimension" returns this card and "Flame Wingman" to Jaden's Graveyard. Next, "De-Fusion" returns "Shining Flare Wingman" to the Extra Deck and revives this card and "Flame Wingman". Since "Shining Flare Wingman" was no longer on the field, the effect of "Misfortune" resolves without effect as it lost its original target. Later Jaden uses the effect of "Fusion Gate" to banish this card and "Clayman" from the field in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant".
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card can be seen when Jaden is shown shuffling his Deck in the Ra Yellow Dorm.
  • In episode 66, this card appears in a flashback Jaden has when he sees Wheeler as Zane which makes Jaden remember his first Duel against Zane.
  • In episode 67, this card appears in a flashback Jaden has when he was explaining to his friends what he was doing while he was trying to get back to Duel Academy. This card is shown in Jaden's thoughts when he notes "Winged Kuriboh" is the only card he has that is still blank.
  • In episode 71, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Lorenzo. After Jaden summons this card, he equips this card with "Element Sword". This card then attacks "B.E.S. Tetran". Due to the effect of "Element Sword", this card gains 800 ATK during the Damage Step only. Due to the effect of "B.E.S. Tetran", it is not destroyed, but Lorenzo still takes Battle Damage. At the end of the Damage Step, "B.E.S. Tetran" loses one counter. Later Lorenzo activates the effect of "B.E.S. Crystal Core" to switch this card to Defense Position. "B.E.S. Crystal Core" then attacks and destroys this card. Since "B.E.S. Crystal Core" battled without a Counter, it is destroyed at the end of the Damage Step.
  • In episode 72, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Howard X Miller. After this card is summoned, X activates "Monster Register" in response. Since this card is Level 4, Jaden is forced to send the top four cards of his Deck to the Graveyard. Jaden then tries to use this card to "Trap Sluzer", but X activates "Threatening Roar" to prevent Jaden from attacking this turn. After "Elemental HERO Flame Wingman" destroys "Level Pod" in battle, the latter's Flip Effect activates, forcing both players to return all monsters on the field to their respective Decks and draw cards equal to the combined Levels of their returned monsters. This card is then revealed to be one of the cards Jaden drew, so he keeps his hand. X, on the other hand, did not draw "Trap Sluzer", so he was forced to discard four cards from his hand. Later Jaden summons this card in Attack Position. After "Elemental Hero Electrum" attacks "Neo-Spacian Glow Moss" and failed to destroy it or inflict Battle Damage due to "Super Guard" and "Recycle Barrier" respectively, Jaden uses this card to attack "Glow Moss" with "Super Guard" preventing the destruction of "Glow Moss" and "Recycle Barrier" preventing X from taking Battle Damage. Due to the effect of "Glow Moss", X is forced to send the top two cards of his Deck to the Graveyard. This card remained on the field until the Duel was over.
  • In episode 77, Jaden uses this card during his duel against T-Bone. He summons this card in Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Mine Golem". This activates the latter's effect, inflicting 500 damage to Jaden. The effect of "Guidance to Ore" allows T-Bone to summon another "Mine Golem". Later "Granmarg the Rock Monarch" attacks and destroys this card. Later Jaden activates "O - Oversoul" to revive this card. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Bubbleman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". On the last turn of the Duel, Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Tempest" to the Extra Deck and revive this card, "Avian", and "Bubbleman". After Jaden activates "Common Soul", he activates "Gift of the Martyr" to send this card to the Graveyard and increase the ATK of "Elemental Hero Neos" by the ATK of this card.
  • In episode 80, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Alice. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Thunder Giant". After Alice activates "Released Curse" to destroy all cards on the field and inflict 300 damage to both players for each of their destroyed cards, Jaden activates "Fusion Recovery" to return this card and "Polymerization" from his Graveyard to his hand.
  • In episode 81, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Bob Banter. He summons this card on the first turn of the duel. On Jaden's next turn, he uses this card to attack and destroy one of Bob's set monsters which is revealed to be "Quiz Panel - Obelisk 10". This activates its effect, forcing Jaden to name the three cards needed to activate "Huge Revolution". Jaden fails to answer the question correctly, so this card is destroyed and he takes 500 damage. On Jaden's next turn, he activates "O - Oversoul" to revive this card. He then uses this card to attack and destroy one of Bob's set monsters which is revealed to be "Quiz Panel - Slifer 10". This activates its effect, forcing Jaden to do twenty push ups. Jaden successfully does the physical challenge, so Bob takes 500 damage. On Jaden's next turn, this card attacks and destroys one of Bob's set monsters which is revealed to be "Quiz Panel - Ra 30". This activates its effect, allowing Bob to select "The Big March of Animals" and force Jaden to guess how many monsters are on the artwork of "The Big March of Animals". Jaden fails to answer the question correctly. Bob then activates "Double It" to double the damage that Jaden would have received at the cost of preventing this card from being destroyed by the effect of "Quiz Panel - Ra 30". Later Bob uses "Quizzer Panel 9" to attack this card, but Jaden activates "Secret Mission" to force Bob into either attacking a random monster with "Quizzer Panel 9" or ending the Battle Phase. Bob chooses the first choice, so "Quizzer Panel 9" attacks a random monster. The monster is then revealed to be "Flame Wingman". "Flame Wingman" then destroys "Quizzer Panel 9". "Flame Wingman" then inflicts damage to Bob equal to the ATK of "Quizzer Panel 9", winning Jaden the duel.
  • In episode 86, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Orlando. After he summons this card, Jaden uses this card to attack "Yoshitsune the Goblin of Beauty", but Orlando uses the latter card's effect to switch it to Defense Position. Due to the second effect of "Yoshitsune", it is not destroyed. Orlando then uses the effect of "Kabuki Stage - Big Bridge" to Special Summon "Armed Samurai - Ben Kei". Later Orlando activates "Dramatic Pose" to increase his monsters' ATK by 500 and decrease the ATK of Jaden's monsters by 500. "Armed Samurai - Ben Kei" (whose ATK was 1500 at the moment) then attacks and destroys this card. Later Jaden activates "Miracle Fusion" to banish this card and "Flame Wingman" from his Graveyard and Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman".
  • In episode 87, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Chazz. After he summons this card, Jaden activates "Good Hero" to Special Summon "Ojama Yellow", equip it with "Good Hero", and increase its ATK by 300 for each Elemental HERO that Jaden controls. This card then attacks and destroys "White Knight Swordsman". On Jaden's next turn, he switches this card to Defense Position. Later Chazz activates "Tribute to the Doomed" to destroy this card.
    • This card can also be seen when Jaden is shown rebuilding his Deck.
  • In episode 91, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Lucien Grimley. He Special Summons this card via the effect of Lucien's "Temptation of the Goddess". After Lucien activates "Mischief of the Goddess", he activates "Slash Draw" to send the top four cards of his Deck to the Graveyard and draw a card. Since Lucien drew "Slash Draw", all other cards on the field are destroyed, however Jaden takes only 3000 damage (1000 damage for each card destroyed and sent to the Graveyard). Jaden then reveals that the other set card he had was "Hero Medal". When "Hero Medal" was destroyed by "Slash Draw", it went to Jaden's Deck (not the Graveyard) and allowed Jaden to draw one card.
  • In episode 93, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Alexis. After this card is summoned, Jaden uses this card to attack and destroy "Illusion Ice Sculpture" (whose ATK and DEF were the same as that of "Snow Fairy" due to its own effect). Later Alexis uses "White Night Queen" to attack and destroy this card. In the next episode, Jaden activates "O - Oversoul" to revive this card. Jaden then equips this card with "Spark Blaster" and activates the latter's effect to switch "Card Trooper" to Defense Position. Later "White Night Queen" attacks and destroys this card.
  • In episode 99, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Prince Ojin. He summons this card on the first turn of the duel. On Ojin's next turn, "Satellite Cannon" (whose ATK was 2000 due to "Charge") attacks and destroys this card. Later Jaden activates "Miracle Fusion" to banish this card and "Flame Wingman" from his Graveyard in order to Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman".
  • In episode 102, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Sartorius. He uses the effect of "Double Fusion" to fuse this card with "Flame Wingman" in order to Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman". In the next episode, Jaden activates "O - Oversoul" to revive this card. Jaden then activates "H - Heated Heart" to increase this card's ATK by 500. This card then attacks and destroys "Arcana Force IV - The Emperor" (whose ATK was 1900 due to its own effect). The final effect of "Light Barrier" then activates, increasing Jaden's Life Points by the original ATK of "The Emperor". On Jaden's End Phase, the effect of "H - Heated Heart" expires. Later "Arcana Force XXI - The World" attacks and destroys this card. Jaden then activates "Hero Counterattack" to force Sartorius to select one card in his hand. Jaden then reveals that he only has one card in his hand and the card is "Neos" (much to Sartorius' shock). Because of this, "The World" is destroyed and Jaden Special Summons "Neos" from his hand. In the following episode, Jaden activates "Fifth Hope" to return this card, "Burstinatrix", "Bubbleman", "Clayman", and "Avian" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw three cards.

Season 3[edit]

  • In episode 105, this card appears in a flashback Jaden has when he notes that even though he lost to Aster when the latter used his real Deck, it gave him the chance to see the Neo-Spacians who later became his friends.
  • In episode 113, this card is shown in Jaden's hand during his Duel against Mr. Stein. In the next episode, Jaden Special Summons this card via "Hero Signal". On Jaden's next turn, he equips this card with "Spark Blaster" and activates the latter's effect to switch "Scab Scarknight]]" to Defense Position. This card then attacks "Scab Scarknight", but Mr. Stein activates "Victim Barrier" to redirect the attack to "Burstinatrix", destroying it instead. The second effect of "Victim Barrier" then activates, placing a Scab Counter on this card. At the end of the Battle Phase, the fifth effect of "Scab Scarknight" activates, switching control of this card to Mr. Stein. On Mr. Stein's next turn, this card attacks directly, but Jaden activates "A Hero Emerges" to force Mr. Stein to choose one card in Jaden's hand. Mr. Stein selects a card and Jaden reveals the card to be "Neos", so Jaden Special Summons "Neos" from his hand. A replay then occurs and Mr. Stein chooses not to attack. On the last turn of the Duel, Mr. Stein activates the effect of "Scar-Knight" to destroy all monsters on the field and inflict 500 damage to all players for each destroyed monster, but Jaden activates "Cocoon Veil" to prevent himself from taking damage from the effect of "Scar-Knight". As three of Mr. Stein's monsters were destroyed, the effect of "Scar-Knight" inflicts 1500 damage to Mr. Stein, winning Jaden the Duel.
  • In episode 126, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Chazz while the latter was a Duel Ghoul. After he summons this card, Jaden uses this card to attack and destroy "Return Zombie". Jaden and this card then try to get past Chazz while he was reeling from the damage made by the attack, but Chazz quickly recovers and Normal Summons "Vorse Raider". "Vorse Raider" then attacks and destroys this card.
  • In episode 129, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Marcel Bonaparte while the latter was possessed by Yubel. After Jaden summons this card, he uses this card to attack "Chaos Core", but Marcel activates the first effect of "Chaos Core" to send the three Sacred Beasts to the Graveyard and place three Sacred Beast Counters on "Chaos Core". Marcel then removes one counter to prevent his monster's destruction and reduce the Battle Damage he would take to 0. On Jaden's next turn, he activates "Tag Request" to target this card and Special Summon "Elemental HERO Necroshade". "Necroshade" and this card then attack "Chaos Core", but Marcel removes the remaining counters on "Chaos Core" to prevent his monster's destruction and nullify the Battle Damage he would take. Jaden then activates "Instant Fusion" to fuse his two monsters together and Fusion Summon "Elemental HERO Darkbright". After "Darkbright" is destroyed by "Chaos Burst", Jaden activates "O - Oversoul" to revive this card. Later "Phantom of Chaos" (who had gained the ATK, DEF, and effects of "Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder" through its own effect) attacks and destroys this card. Due to the second effect of "Phantom of Chaos", Jaden takes no Battle Damage, but the effect that "Phantom of Chaos" got from "Hamon" then activates, inflicting 1000 damage to Jaden. In the next episode, Jaden activates "Fifth Hope" to return this card, "Necroshade", "Darkbright", "Avian", and "Bubbleman" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw two cards.
  • In episode 135, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Brron, Mad King of Dark World. After Jaden summons this card, he uses this card to attack and destroy "Broww, Huntsman of Dark World". The effect of "Wicked Canon" then activates, allowing Brron to send "Sinister Doctrine - Anger" from his Deck to the Graveyard. This causes Chazz to disappear. Brron then Normal Summons "Zure, Knight of Dark World" and uses the latter to attack and destroy this card.
    • This card also appears in a series of flashbacks Jaden has when he notes that until now he went by his instincts without giving things a second thought. Jaden notes if he stops now, he won't be able to go further and save Jesse.
  • In episode 137, this card is shown in a flashback Ojama Yellow has when he tells Syrus that Chazz was the first person that was sacrificed into "Wicked Canon" during Jaden's Duel against Brron.
  • In episode 146, this card can be seen in Jaden's hand during his duel against Zane. Zane notes if Jaden had summoned this card instead of "Clayman" and equipped it with "Spark Blaster", he could have activated the effect of "Spark Blaster" to switch "Armored Cybern" to Attack Position, which would have allowed "Sparkman" to attack and destroy "Armored Cybern". Zane then notes he would have then summoned "Cyber End Dragon" via "Power Bond" and use "Cyber End Dragon" to attack this card, but Jaden would then activate "Hero Barrier" to negate the attack. How this had all been done like so, Jaden would have won the duel as the final effect of "Power Bond" would have made Zane take damage equal to the ATK of "Cyber End Dragon".
  • In episode 153, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Yubel. He Normal Summons this card in Attack Position. Jaden then equips this card with "Spark Blaster". The second effect of “Spell Chronicle" then activates, placing a Chronicle Counter on itself. Jaden then activates the effect of “Spark Blaster” to switch "Regenerating Rose" to Defense Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Regenerating Rose". Yubel then activates the second effect of "Regenerating Rose" to Special Summon two "Regenerating Rose Tokens". Later "Yubel" attacks this card. Due to the first two effects of "Yubel", it is not destroyed and Jaden takes the Battle Damage Yubel would have taken. On Jaden’s next turn, he switch this card to Defense Position. On Yubel's next turn, "Yubel" attacks this card, but Jaden activates "Hero Barrier" to negate the attack. Yubel then activates "Zero Sprite" to equip the latter to "Yubel" and allow "Yubel" to attack twice during each Battle Phase. "Yubel" then attacks "Sparkman". The attack fails, but due to the second effect of "Yubel", Jaden takes the Battle Damage that Yubel would have taken. In the next episode, Jaden activates "Neospace Wave" to send this card, "Avian", and "Burstinatrix" to the Graveyard and Special Summon "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin", "Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird", and "Glow Moss" in their place. In episode 155, Jaden activates "Fifth Hope" to return this card, "Avian", "Burstinatrix", "Elemental Hero Prisma", and "Neos" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw two cards.
  • In episode 156, this card is shown in a flashback Alexis has when remembers her first Duel against Jaden and notes that even when he had a few Life Points and no monsters on his side of the field, he believed in the strength of his draws and stood tall.

Season 4[edit]

  • In episode 158, Jaden uses this card during his duel against Trueman. He Normal Summons this card on the first turn of the duel. Trueman then Normal Summons "Dark Archetype" and activates "Power Gift" to send "Molten Zombie" from his hand to the Graveyard and increase this card's ATK by the ATK of "Molten Zombie". Trueman then uses "Dark Archetype" to attack this card. This card then destroys "Dark Archetype". At the end of the Damage Step, the last effect of "Power Gift" activates, destroying this card. Trueman then activates the effect of "Dark Archetype" to Special Summon "Meteor Dragon".
  • In episode 161, Jaden uses this card during his Tag Duel with Alexis against Chancellor Sheppard and Ms. Dorothy. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Necroshade" in order to Fusion Summon "Darkbright". After the latter attacks "Marshmallon" (who is not destroyed due to its own effect), Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Darkbright" to the Extra Deck and Special Summon this card and "Necroshade" from his Graveyard. Both this card and "Necroshade" then attack "Marshmallon". Due to the latter's effect, it is not destroyed, however Sheppard and Ms. Dorothy still take Battle Damage. Sheppard and Ms. Dorothy's Life Points then hit 0, winning Jaden and Alexis the duel though Alexis was unhappy that Jaden didn't bother to check her set card.
  • In episode 162, this card is seen in a flashback Jaden has when he reminds Alexis on the last time she used "Doble Passe" during their first Duel.
  • In episode 165, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Chazz. After he Normal Summons this card, Jaden equips this card with "Spark Blaster". Jaden then activates "Spark Blaster's" effect to switch "Ojama Yellow" to Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Ojama Yellow". Chazz then activates "Ojamarble" to return "Ojama Yellow" to his Deck, draw two cards and discard "Ojamagic". Later Chazz activates "Ojama Delta Hurricane!!" to destroy all cards on Jaden's side of the field. On the last turn of the Duel, Jaden activates "O - Oversoul" to revive this card. Jaden then activates "Double Fusion" and uses its effect to fuse "Avian" with "Burstinatrix" and Fusion Summon "Flame Wingman". Jaden then uses the effect of "Double Fusion" to fuse this card with "Flame Wingman" and Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman".
  • In episode 167, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Vellian Crowler. He Special Summons this card and "Elemental Hero Wildheart" via "Crazy Summon Gear". After Crowler Special Summons three "Ancient Gear Golems" via "Spell Gear", Crowler uses his three "Ancient Gear Golems" to attack and destroy "Clayman", "Wildheart", and this card. The "Ancient Gear Golems" that destroyed "Wildheart" and "Clayman" then inflict piercing damage to Jaden. On the last turn of the Duel, Jaden activates "Fifth Hope" to return this card, "Avian", "Burstinatrix", "Wildheart" and "Clayman" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw two cards.
  • In episode 168, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against a Ra Yellow student. He uses this card to attack directly and win Jaden the Duel.
  • In episode 172, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Jesse Anderson while the former was thinking that Jesse was Trueman (This was due to the darkness from "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" infecting Jaden's "Polymerization" card). He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Bubbleman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest".
  • In episode 176, Jaden uses this card durin his Triangle Duel against Jesse and Yusuke Fujiwara. He Special Summons this card via "Hero Signal". Since this card was LIGHT Attribute and "Clear World" was face-up on the field, Jaden had to play with his hand revealed. Later Jesse activates the second effect of "Rainbow Dragon" to return all cards on the field to their owners' Decks.
  • In episode 177, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Nightshroud. After Jaden Normal Summons this card, he uses this card to attack "Darkness Eye", but Nightshroud activates "Zero" to activate "Infinity". The effect of "Infinity" then activates the card(s) in between "Zero" and "Infinity", which was "Darkness 1", whose effect destroys this card. Jaden then activates "Relationship" to Special Summon "Necroshade".
  • In episode 180, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Yugi Muto. He Normal Summons this card in Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Alpha The Magnet Warrior". Later "Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight" attacks and destroys this card. Later Jaden activates "Miracle Fusion" to banish this card and "Flame Wingman" from his Graveyard and Fusion Summon "Shining Flare Wingman".

Manga[edit]

  • In chapter 1, Jaden Yuki uses this card during his Duel against Mr. Ryuga. It was summoned at an unspecified point. Later Jaden switches this card to Defense Position. Later Mr. Ryuga activates "Smashing Ground" to destroy this card.
