In episode 193, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Vivian Wong. After he summons this card, Yugi activates "Pot of Greed". This card then gained one Spell Counter" on this card due to its own effect. After Yami Yugi activates "Emblem of Dragon Destroyer", this card gained a second Spell Counter. Yami Yugi then activates "Monster Reincarnation" to return "Dark Magician" to his Deck. This card then gained a third Spell Counter due to its own effect. Since this card now has three Spell Counters, Yami Yugi activates this card's second effect to Tribute itself and Special Summon "Dark Magician" from his Deck.

This card appears as a character as one of the Duelists of Death.
In episode 143, Skilled Dark Magician and Skilled White Magician use this card during their duel against Aster Phoenix. They activate "End of the World" to Tribute themselves and Ritual Summon "Demise, King of Armageddon".
This card appears in the second version of Japanese opening song of 99%.

In episode 33, this card is shown in a flashback Crow has when he remembers the days in which Kalin was Yusei, Jack, and his friend, and that they (as the Enforcers) would defeat other groups in Satellite and claim the locations by the defeated groups and set some sort of satisfaction to their living situation. A member of the Magician's Four uses this card during his Ground Duel against Crow Hogan. "Blackwing Armor Master" attacks and destroys this card, winning Crow the Duel.
In episode 134, this card is shown in the Three Emperors of Yliaster's visions of the future. It is shown being used in a Ground Duel between two unknown Duelists.

Athough this card was not shown in the movie, Yami Yugi had two copies of it in his Deck during his Duel against Seto Kaiba, according to novelization of the film. He was forced to send this card from his Deck to the Graveyard via the effect of Kaiba's "Deck Destruction Virus".

In the non-canon duel North American WCQ 2014 Special: Astral vs. Yugi, Yugi summons this card on his first turn. In the same turn, he gives it three Spell Counters by activating "Card Destruction", "Pot of Greed", and "Graceful Charity". He then tributes it to summon "Dark Magician" from the deck.
