Q&A Rulings
- Q: I Special Summoned a "Twin Triangle Dragon" from my opponent's GY with the effect of my "Altergeist Kidolga". Afterward, before attacking with "Twin Triangle Dragon", if my opponent activates "Compulsory Evacuation Device" and returns "Altergeist Kidolga" to the Extra Deck, can I attack with the Special Summoned "Twin Triangle Dragon"?
- A: In this scenario, if "Altergeist Kidolga" declared an attack that turn, the "Twin Triangle Dragon" Special Summoned by its effect can declare an attack even if that "Altergeist Kidolga" is no longer on the field. During subsequent turns, "Twin Triangle Dragon" will not be able to attack.[1]
- Q: I Special Summoned a "Twin Triangle Dragon" from my opponent's GY with the effect of my "Altergeist Kidolga". Afterward, if the effect of "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" is applied to "Altergeist Kidolga", can I attack with the Special Summoned "Twin Triangle Dragon" after "Altergeist Kidolga" returns to the field?
- A: In this scenario, after "Altergeist Kidolga" returns to the field, it is no longer treated as the card that Special Summoned "Twin Triangle Dragon". Therefore, you cannot attack with that "Twin Triangle Dragon", regardless of whether or not the returned "Altergeist Kidolga" has declared an attack during that turn.[2]
- Q: I Special Summoned a "Cracking Dragon" from my opponent's GY with the effect of my "Altergeist Kidolga". Afterward, if "Cracking Dragon" is changed to face-down Defense Position by the effect of "Book of Moon", will I be able to attack with it after flipping it face-up again?
- A: In this scenario, the effect of "Altergeist Kidolga" will no longer apply to "Cracking Dragon" once it is changed to face-down Defense Position. Therefore, if "Cracking Dragon" is flipped face-up again, you will be able to attack with it regardless of whether or not "Altergeist Kidolga" has declared an attack during that turn.[3]
- Q: My "Altergeist Kidolga" is in the Extra Monster Zone, and a face-up Attack Position "Altergeist Meluseek" is in my Main Monster Zone. In this situation, "Altergeist Meluseek" attacks directly with its effect, and inflicts battle damage to my opponent. At this time, can the effects of "Altergeist Meluseek" and "Altergeist Kidolga" each activate?
- A: In this scenario, you may activate the effects of both "Altergeist Meluseek" and "Altergeist Kidolga". If both effects are activated, they are activated on the same Chain, in the order you choose.[4]
- Q: I Special Summoned a "Degrade Buster" from my opponent's Graveyard with the effect of "Altergeist Kidolga". During my next turn, if I declare an attack with "Altergeist Kidolga", but my opponent activates "Magic Cylinder" and negates the attack, can the Special Summoned "Degrade Buster" attack?
- A: In this scenario, although the attack made by "Altergeist Kidolga" was negated by the effect of "Magic Cylinder", it still declared an attack that turn, so the Special Summoned "Degrade Buster" can attack that turn.[5]
