OCG Rulings

  • This card's effect that Special Summons 2 monsters from your hand and GY and performs an Xyz Summon with them is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
  • When this effect resolves, Special Summon 2 monsters with the same Level, 1 from your hand and 1 from your GY. Immediately after the effect finishes resolving, you must perform an Xyz Summon using those 2 monsters.[1]
  • The monsters you Special Summon with this effect must be monsters that you can perform an Xyz Summon with.[1]
  • This card's effect that destroys a Spell/Trap on your opponent's field is a Trigger Effect. (It targets 1 Spell/Trap on your opponent's field, and cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

  • Q: When I Link Summon "Bujinki Ahashima" and activate its effect, but my opponent chains "Ojama Trio" and Special Summons "Ojama Tokens" to the Main Monster Zones that "Bujinki Ahashima" points to, what happens if I no longer have any zones that I can Special Summon a monster from the Extra Deck to?
A: In this scenario, if you have no available Monster Zones for Special Summoning a monster from the Extra Deck, you cannot Xyz Summon. In that case, the part of the effect that Special Summons 2 monsters with the same Level is not applied.[2][3]
  • Q: The only monster in my Monster Zone is "Bujinki Ahashima". If I activate its effect that Special Summons 2 monsters with the same Level and performs an Xyz Summon, what happens if my opponent chains "There Can Be Only One"?
A: In this scenario, the effect of "Bujinki Ahashima" will resolve while the effect of "There Can Be Only One" that allows each player to only control 1 monster of the same Type is applying. Since "Bujinki Ahashima" is a Beast-Warrior monster, you cannot Special Summon any Beast-Warrior monsters from your hand or GY with its effect. If you do not have any non-Beast-Warrior monsters in your hand or GY to Special Summon, you cannot Special Summon any monsters. If, for example, you Special Summon a Winged Beast "Bujingi Crane" from your hand and a Beast "Bujingi Turtle" from your GY, you can then perform an Xyz Summon using those 2 monsters. However, if you choose 1 "Bujingi Crane" from your hand and 1 "Bujingi Crane" from your GY, both are Special Summoned successfully, but the effect of "There Can Be Only One" will be applied, you must send 1 of the "Bujingi Crane"s to the GY, and the Xyz Summon cannot be performed.[4][5]
A: If "Bujin Yamato" is not face-up on the field, you can Special Summon 2 copies of "Bujin Yamato" from your hand and GY with the effect of "Bujinki Ahashima". At this time, both copies of "Bujin Yamato" are Special Summoned at the same time and their effects that allow only 1 copy to be on your field at a time are negated, so the Xyz Summon using both monsters is performed as usual.[6][5]
