OCG Rulings

  • Even if the effect of "Dai Dance" is applying, your opponent can Special Summon a monster to the Extra Monster Zone as usual. (If they Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon to the Main Monster Zone, they must use the chosen zone.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

  • Q: If you activate "Call of the Haunted" in a Chain to the activation of your opponent's "Dai Dance", and Special Summon a monster to the Monster Zone chosen by your opponent's "Dai Dance", what happens to that effect?
A: When the effect resolves, if the chosen Monster Zone is already used because a monster was Special Summoned by the effect of a "Call of the Haunted" activated in a Chain, the effect of "Dai Dance" is not applied.[2]
  • Q: While the effect of an opponent's "Dai Dance" is applying, if the monster you would Normal or Special Summon to the chosen zone is negated by "Solemn Judgment", what happens?
A: The effect of "Dai Dance" is applied until a monster is placed in the chosen zone. If you would Normal or Special Summon a monster to the chosen zone, and your opponent activates "Solemn Judgment", since you placed a monster to be Normal or Special Summoned, even if that Summon is negated by "Solemn Judgment", the effect of "Dai Dance" stops applying. (You do not need to use the chosen zone for your next Normal Summons/Sets or Special Summons.)[3]
  • Q: While the effect of an opponent's "Dai Dance" is applying, can you Normal Summon a Gemini monster in the Monster Zone that is treated as a Normal Monster?
A: While the effect of "Dai Dance" is applying, if you would Normal Summon/Set a monster from your hand, you must use the chosen Main Monster Zone. Therefore, even if the effect of "Dai Dance" is applying, you can Normal Summon a face-up Gemini monster in your Main Monster Zone that is treated as a Normal Monster, and treat it as an Effect Monster.[4]
  • Q: While the effect of "Dai Dance" is applying, if you would Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon a monster to the Main Monster Zone, you must use the chosen Main Monter Zone. Therefore, you cannot Special Summon "Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju" to your opponent's Main Monster Zone by its own effect.
A: {{{2}}}[5]
  • Q: While the effect of an opponent's "Dai Dance" is applying, can you activate "Soul Charge" by targeting 2 or more monsters?
A: While the effect of "Dai Dance" is applying, if you would Special Summon a monster to the Main Monster Zone, you must use the chosen zone. If you activate "Soul Charge" while the effect of your opponent's "Dai Dance" is applying, it can only be activated by targeting 1 monster. ("Soul Charge" cannot be activated by targeting 2 or more monsters.)[6]
