Q&A Rulings

  • Q: "Guiding Light" and "Darklord Morningstar" are face-up on my field. In this situation, if my Guiding Light is targeted for an attack by an opponent's monster, can I activate the effect of "Dark Angel" from my hand?
A: You can activate the effect of "Dark Angel" even if a Fairy-Type monster with 0 ATK is targeted for an attack. In this case, the attacked "Guiding Light" is Tributed, and "Darklord Morningstar" becomes the new attack target. Since the original ATK of "Guiding Light" is 0, "Darklord Morningstar" does not gain any ATK.[1]
  • Q: When my opponent's monster attacks my Fairy-Type monster, I activate the effect of "Dark Angel" from my hand. If my opponent chains "Book of Moon" and changes the attacking monster to face-down Defense Position, how does the effect of "Dark Angel" resolve?
A: In this scenario, since the attacking monster is changed to face-down Defense Position, the attack ends and the effect of "Dark Angel" is not applied.[2]
