Card Rulings:Desperate Tag
TCG Rulings
- You activate this card’s effect during damage calculation after your monster is destroyed but before you take damage. It starts a Chain.[1]
- If you don’t have a Warrior-Type monster in your hand that you can Special Summon, you cannot activate the effect of Desperate Tag.[1]
- If you would not take any Battle Damage from the battle, you cannot activate the effect of Desperate Tag.[1]
- If you activate the effect of Desperate Tag you must reduce the Battle Damage to 0 and you must Special Summon a monster.[1]
- You can flip this card face-up any time outside of the Damage Step. You can also flip this card face-up during damage calculation, but only if you’re activating its effect at the same time.[1]
OCG Rulings
- The activation of only the card "Desperate Tag" can be performed at any time, except during the Damage Step.[2]
- The effect "If a face-up Attack Position monster you control is destroyed by battle, during damage calculation, you can reduce the Battle Damage from this battle to 0 and Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your hand at the end of the Damage Step" is activated during damage calculation, and makes a Chain Link. (It does not target.)[2]
- If the card "Desperate Tag" is activated during damage calculation, its effect can be activated in the same Chain Link as the activation of the card. (The activation of only the card "Desperate Tag" cannot be performed during damage calculation.)[2]
- If the player does not have a Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster in their hand that can be Special Summoned, the effect of "Desperate Tag" cannot be activated.[2]
- Applying "Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your hand at the end of the Damage Step" does not make a Chain Link.[2]
