OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Eco, Mystical Spirit of the Forest" is a Trigger Effect that activates in the hand. (It does not target.)[1]
- The effect of "Eco, Mystical Spirit of the Forest" can optionally be activated when you take damage from an opponent's card effect. (It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
- The effect of "Eco, Mystical Spirit of the Forest" cannot be activated when you take damage from an opponent's card effect activated as Chain 2 or higher.[1]
- The resolution of "Special Summon this card from your hand" and the resolution of "inflict damage to your opponent equal to the damage you took" are considered to happen at the same time. ("both players take no further effect damage this turn" is also applied immediately.)[1]
