OCG Rulings
- The effect that negates the effect of 1 face-up card on the field is a Trigger Effect. (It targets 1 face-up card on the field. It can be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
- The effect that makes this card unable to be destroyed by battle is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- The effect that adds 1 "Shaddoll" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand and discards 1 card is a Trigger Effect that activates in the Graveyard. (It does not target. It can be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
- Adding 1 "Shaddoll" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand and discarding 1 card are not considered to happen at the same time.[1]
- Q: "Thunder King Rai-Oh" is in the opponent's Monster Zone and its effect is being applied. In this scenario, can the effect of a "El Shaddoll Apkallone" that was sent to your Graveyard be activated?
- A: Even in this case, you can activate the effect of the "El Shaddoll Apkallone" that was sent to the Graveyard. When resolving that effect, if the effect of the opponent's "Thunder King Rai-Oh" is being applied, since you cannot add cards from your Deck to your hand, you must choose 1 "Shaddoll" card in your Graveyard.[2]
- Q: When resolving the effect of "El Shaddoll Apkallone" that adds 1 "Shaddoll" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand, if you choose to add "El Shaddoll Apkallone" itself or another Fusion Monster in your Graveyard, how does the effect resolve?
- A: You can choose to add a "Shaddoll" Fusion Monster such as "El Shaddoll Apkallone" itself, or the "Shaddoll" Link Monster "Shaddoll Construct", with the effect of "El Shaddoll Apkallone" that activates in the Graveyard. If you do, since the chosen card is added to the Extra Deck instead of the hand, the process that discards 1 card is not applied.[3]
