OCG Rulings

  • This card does not target.[1]
  • You choose which monsters to use as materials for the Fusion Summon when the effect resolves. (The same is true if using a "Lunalight" monster in your Deck for the Fusion Summon.)[1]
  • Sending monsters to the Graveyard as materials and Fusion Summoning the "Lunalight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck do not happen simultaneously. (The last part of the effect to resolve is the Fusion Summon.)[1]
  • When sending monsters on the field to the Graveyard as materials for the Fusion Summon, you can choose face-up or face-down monsters.[1]

Q&A Rulings

  • Q: The only monster on the field is my opponent's "Invoked Raidjin" that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. If I activate "Lunalight Fusion", but my opponent chains the effect of "Invoked Raidjin" and changes it to face-down Defense Position, what happens?
A: If a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck is changed to face-down Defense Position, it is no longer treated as a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. In this scenario, since there are no monsters on your field, you must use materials in your hand for the Fusion Summon.[2]
