  • Both the "this card's name and original ATK become that monster's name and current ATK, and this card's effect becomes that monster's original effect" effect that is applied to this card and the "that monster's ATK becomes 0 and its effects are negated." effect that is applied to the opponent's monster, last until the End Phase in which this effect was activated. (They all stop applying at the same time during the End Phase).[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: If "Number 69: Heraldry Crest" or "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" have acquired the effect of "Sword Breaker" and have activated the "Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to declare 1 Monster Type" effect, then the "At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a monster of a Type that has been declared: Destroy that monster." effect is not applied after "Number 69: Heraldry Crest" or "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" return to their original names and effects.[2]
A: If "Number 69: Heraldry Crest" or "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" have acquired the effect of "Number 20: Giga-Brilliant" and have activated the "all face-up monsters you currently control gain 300 ATK." effect, then that effect is applied even after "Number 69: Heraldry Crest" or "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" return to their original names and effects.[3]
A: If "Number 69: Heraldry Crest" or "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" have acquired the effect of "Number 16: Shock Master" and have activated the "that type of card (if Spell or Trap) cannot be activated, or (if Monster) cannot activate its effects, until the end of your opponent's next turn." effect, then that effect is applied even after "Number 69: Heraldry Crest" or "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" return to their original names and effects.[4]
A: The effect of "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" can be activated by targeting an Xyz Monster that has been affected by the "it is unaffected by other card effects." effect of "Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand". If you do, the "this card's name and original ATK become that monster's name and current ATK, and this card's effect becomes that monster's original effect" effect is applied, but the "that monster's ATK becomes 0 and its effects are negated." effect is not applied.[5]
A: In this scenario, since the effects of "Odd-Eyes Venom Dragon" are negated, the ATK increase is no longer applied, and its ATK returns to its original value of 3300. However, it will still have the gained name and effects of "D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon" until the End Phase. Also, the following monsters will retain their gained names and effects even if their effects are negated after being applied:
- "Blackwing - Aurora the Northern Lights"
- "CXyz Barian Hope"
- "Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste"
- "Elemental HERO Divine Neos"
- "Gem-Knight Master Diamond"
- "Hundred Eyes Dragon"
- "Infernoid Decatron"
- "Legendary Knight Hermos"
- "Masterflare Hyperion"
- "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther"
- "Number 69: Heraldry Crest"
- "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage"
- "Number C69: Heraldry Crest of Horror"
- "One-Eyed Skill Gainer"
- "Phantom of Chaos"
- "Starving Venemy Dragon"
- "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon"
- "Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom"
- "Symphonic Warrior Synthess"
- "Windwitch - Crystal Bell"[6][7]
A: You can target another "Legendary Knight Hermos" in your GY with the effect "Legendary Knight Hermos", and gain its name/effects. In that case, since it already had the name and effects of "Legendary Knight Hermos", the same effect cannot be activated again when it is targeted for an attack.
The same applies to the following cards:
- "Elemental HERO Divine Neos"
- "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther"
- "Number 69: Heraldry Crest"
- "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage"
- "Number C69: Heraldry Crest of Horror"
- "Odd-Eyes Venom Dragon"
- "One-Eyed Skill Gainer"
- "Phantom of Chaos"
- "Pseudo Space"
- "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon"
- "Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom"[8]
