OCG Rulings

  • The effect of this card that decreases its ATK and allows it to attack directly this turn is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
  • Both parts of the effect are only applied during the turn the effect is used.[1]
  • The effect of this card that Special Summons 2 "Prank-Kids" monsters from your Graveyard is an Ignition Effect. (Tributing this face-up card in your Monster Zone is the cost to activate this effect.)[1]
  • This effect targets 2 non-Fusion "Prank-Kids" monsters with different names in your Graveyard.[1]

Q&A Rulings

  • Q: When "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" is Special Summoned by the effect of "Instant Fusion", can I activate the effect of "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride"?
A: When "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" is Special Summoned by the effect of "Instant Fusion", it is treated as a Fusion Summon, so you can activate its effect. In that case, "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" loses 1000 ATK, but since it was Special Summoned by the effect of "Instant Fusion", it cannot attack.[2]
  • Q: I successfully Fusion Summon a "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" and activate its effect. What happens if my opponent chains "Book of Moon" and changes "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" to face-down Defense Position?
A: In this scenario, if the "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" whose effect was activated is in face-down Defense Position when that effect resolves, it cannot gain 1000 ATK, so the part of the effect that allows it to attack directly also cannot be applied. (Even if "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" is changed to face-up Attack Position by "Book of Taiyou", etc. that turn, it will not be able to attack directly with its effect.)[3]
  • Q: I successfully Fusion Summoned a "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" and activated its effect this turn. If "Skill Drain" is activated after it resolved, how is the effect applied?
A: If Skill Drain is activated after the effect of "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" has resolved, and its effects are negated, "Prank-Kids Rocket Ride" will no longer lose 1000 ATK, but it will still be able to attack directly with its effect that turn.[4]
