Q&A Rulings
- Q: "Beat, Bladesman Fur Hire", "Seal, Strategist Fur Hire", and "Bravo, Fighter Fur Hire" are all face-up in my Monster Zone when I Special Summon "Rafale, Champion Fur Hire". At this time, if I only have 2 cards left in my Deck, can I activate the first effect of "Rafale, Champion Fur Hire"?
- A: In this scenario, you have 3 monsters "Fur Hire" on your field with different names, excluding "Rafale, Champion Fur Hire". If you only have 2 cards left in your Deck, you cannot excavate cards equal to the number of monsters "Fur Hire" on your field with different names, so the effect of "Rafale, Champion Fur Hire" cannot be activated.[1]
- Q: I Special Summoned "Rafale, Champion Fur Hire" while I have 2 other monsters "Fur Hire" with different names on my field. At this time, if I activate its effect that excavates cards from the top of my Deck, but my opponent chains "Mistake", how does the effect resolve?
- A: In this scenario, the effect of "Rafale, Champion Fur Hire" resolves while the effect of "Mistake" is applying. In this case, you excavate cards from the top of your Deck normally, but the card that would be added to your hand is sent to the GY instead, while the other excavated cards are shuffled into your Deck. Note that if the effect of "Mistake" is already applying, that effect of "Rafale, Champion Fur Hire" cannot be activated.[2]
