Q&A Rulings
- Q: I activated "Rising Fire" and Special Summoned a "Phoenix Gearfried" from my GY. If that "Phoenix Gearfried" is destroyed by battle with an opponent's monster or by an opponent's card effect, can I activate the effect of "Rising Fire" that banishes a monster on the field?
- A: In this scenario, "Rising Fire" is destroyed because the equipped monster was destroyed by battle or card effect, and no longer has a correct target. Therefore, since "Rising Fire" itself was not destroyed by your opponent's card, you cannot activate its effect.[2][3]
