  • This card's effect that Special Summons a FIRE monster from your GY and equips to it is the effect applied by activating this card.[1]
  • This card targets 1 FIRE monster in your GY.[1]
  • Special Summoning the targeted monster and equipping this card to it happen simultaneously.[1]
  • Increasing the equipped monster's ATK does not start a Chain. (It is an effect applied to the equipped monster.)[1]
  • Destroying the equipped monster when this card leaves the field does not start a Chain. (This effect can be applied during the Damage Step.)[1]
  • This card's effect that banishes a monster on the field starts a Chain. (It does not target, and can be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: In this scenario, "Rising Fire" is destroyed because the equipped monster was destroyed by battle or card effect, and no longer has a correct target. Therefore, since "Rising Fire" itself was not destroyed by your opponent's card, you cannot activate its effect.[2][3]
