Q&A Rulings
- Q: "Gozen Match" is face-up in my opponent's Spell & Trap Zone, and its effect prevents players from controlling more than 1 monster Attribute. In this situation, if "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" is the only monster in my Main Monster Zone, can I Special Summon "Sky Striker Ace - Kagari"?
- A: In this scenario, since the effect of your opponent's Gozen Match is applied, you can only Special Summon DARK monsters. Therefore, you cannot Special Summon "Sky Striker Ace - Kagari", even by using "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" as Link Material or activating the effect of "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" by Tributing it.[1]
- Q: I activate "Sky Striker Mecha - Widow Anchor" and take control of my opponent's "Sky Striker Ace - Kagari". Afterward, when that "Sky Striker Ace - Kagari" battles a monster in my opponent's Monster Zone, it is destroyed by battle and sent to my opponent's GY. At this time, if "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" is in each player's GY, can either player activate its effect that Special Summons it?
- A: The effect of "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" that Special Summons it can be activated by whoever controlled "Sky Striker Ace - Kagari" on the field. In this scenario, "Sky Striker Ace - Kagari" is destroyed and sent to your opponent's GY, but since it was not on your opponent's field, they cannot activate the effect of "Sky Striker Ace - Raye".[2]
- Q: My "Link Spider" is in the Extra Monster Zone, and "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" is face-up in my Main Monster Zone. In this situation, can I activate the effect of "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" that Special Summons a "Sky Striker Ace" monster from my Extra Deck?
- A: Since the effect of "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" must Special Summon a "Sky Striker Ace" monster to the Extra Monster Zone, you cannot activate that effect if you already have a monster in the Extra Monster Zone. (The effect cannot Special Summon a monster to a Main Monster Zone, even if a Link Monster points to it.)[3]
