Card Tips:Alector, Sovereign of Birds
- This card can be searched by "Swallow's Nest", "Tri-Brigade Airborne Assault", "Kittytail, Mystical Beast of the Forest", "Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen", "Swallow's Cowrie", "Animadorned Archosaur", "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation", "Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon", "Rescue Ferret", and other generic searchers.
- This card may be difficult to Special Summon if your opponent uses an archetype with monsters of multiple attributes, such as "Genex" monsters.
- If the Monsters on your opponent's side of the Field don't have the same Attribute, use "DNA Transplant".
- You can easily destroy "Marshmallon", "Obnoxious Celtic Guard"" or "Spirit Reaper" by battle, by negating their Effects with "Alector, Sovereign of Birds". ("Spirit Reaper" will not automatically be destroyed by its own effect, since it is being negated by "Alector, Sovereign of Birds".)
- "Alector, Sovereign of Birds" is perfect as a Beatstick in a Beatburn deck, as you can use its Effect to Negate Lock cards such as "Gravity Bind" during your turn only.
- You can use "Ojama Trio" to easily summon this card to the field.
- Nightmare Archfiends can be used to put two monsters with the same attribute on your opponent's side of the field.
- Use this monster's effect to negate the effect(s) of powerful monsters who gain ATK or DEF when they are summoned, such as "Fog King", "Montage Dragon", "Chimeratech Overdragon", or even monsters such as "Megarock Dragon", "Evil Dragon Ananta" or maybe "Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord".
- "Yubels" and "Fortune Ladies" are also easy targets for this monster. Note that both "Yubels" and "Fortune Lady Light" have effects that activate off the field (i.e. aren't negated).
- "Nimble Musasabi" is an easy way to summon this card.
- Use this card in a "Blackwing" deck and negate "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor"'s effect then you can Synchro Summon "Blackwing Armor Master" and then use "Vayu"'s effect while in the Graveyard to Summon another Synchro monster.
- You can use "Revival Gift" to Special Summon two "Gift Fiend Tokens" on your opponent's field and one Tuner from your Graveyard so you can Special Summon this card from your hand then Synchro Summon. Its effect is still optional before Synchro Summoning.
- This card works well in "Dragunity" decks due to its easy summoning conditions, its useful effect and its convenient level for Synchro Summoning.
- This card is particularly useful for decks that are weakened by common side-deck cards. It can quickly stop "Macro Cosmos", "Dimensional Fissure", "Consecrated Light", "Royal Decree" and many others.
- This can be used to break through the defenses of burn decks, which might sport annoying cards like "Stardust Dragon" or "Scrubbed Raid".
- Use "DNA Transplant" for easy Summon of this card, then activate "Burden of the Mighty" and use this monster's effect to easily overpower the opponent's monsters.
- In a "Harpie Lady" deck you can use this card to temporarily negate your own "Harpie's Hunting Ground" when you want to summon your Harpies but your opponent doesn't have any spell cards to destroy.
- An effective combo is to tribute "Raiza the Storm Monarch" for "Swallow's Nest" after it uses it's effect to special summon "Alector".
- Use this card to negate the effects of your Spirit monsters for a turn, thus keeping them on the field.
- You can use this card's effect on a face-up "Majestic Star Dragon" you control to preserve it until your opponent's turn and force your opponent into lockdown that turn.
- You can create a small lock with this card by continually negating Gravity Bind during your turn to allow your monsters to attack, leaving your opponent with limited attacking options.
- If you can manage to have this card on the field with a face-up "Vanity's Emptiness" you can use this card to negate "Vanity's Emptiness" when you need to special summon or send cards to the graveyard yet have it stay on the field to disrupt your opponent.
Traditional Format[edit]
- You can use this card's effect to negate the effect of "Royal Oppression", Special Summon any Monster you want and, after the End Phase, you will be able to use "Royal Oppression"'s effect against your opponent's Special Summons.
