  • This card can be Summoned easily using "Mausoleum of the Emperor". Then if your opponent try to activate your "Mausoleum of the Emperor", you can negate and destroy it with this card's effect.
  • This card can make a nearly unbreakable lock if used in combination with "Mist Valley Thunderbird". So long as you can keep your opponent from attacking "Mist Valley Thunderbird", you can use this card's effect again and again.
    • The easiest way of keeping your opponent from attacking "Mist Valley Thunderbird" is by equipping this card with "Raregold Armor" making it the only monster your opponent can attack. One can also use "Pixie Ring" to protect "Thunderbird" from attacks.
    • An ultimate lock down is to have a face-up "Hunter Owl", a face-up "Mist Valley Thunderbird", and a face-up "Mist Valley Apex Avian". Equip "Raregold Armor" to "Hunter Owl" making the opponent unable to attack (have two "Mist Valley Apex Avians" just in case a "Stardust Dragon" comes onto the scene).
    • Another easy way to keep "Thunderbird" from being destroyed is by having either "Mist Valley Thunder Lord" or "Mist Valley Falcon" on the field, and "Swords of Revealing Light". Use either "Falcon" or "Thunder Lord's" effect to return and reuse the swords, to prevent the foe from attacking at all.
    • In a pinch, "Thunder Lord" can also bounce "Thunderbird" during the damage step, preventing its destruction and cancelling the opponent's attack. Since "Thunder Lord" can only use his effect once per turn, this is best saved for when the opponent only has one monster.
    • You can also use "Union Carrier" and equip "Mist Valley Thunderbird" to this card.
  • This card can be Summoned very easily by using "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation" with "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo". Summon "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo", then add "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation" to your hand, Set it, and during your opponent's Draw Phase, activate it to Special Summon this card.
  • Remember that this card can return any "Mist Valley" card, which means you can also return "Divine Wind of Mist Valley" and reactivate it immediately. During your turn, you can effectively lock most effects your opponent activates with no drawbacks.
    • As a last resort, remember that you can return this card itself to your hand to negate an opponent's card effect, which can come in handy.
  • You can Summon this card and "Mist Valley Thunderbird" in one turn if you have this card, "Mist Valley Thunderbird, "Tribute Doll", and "Mist Condor". Normal Summon "Mist Valley Thunderbird", then activate "Mist Condor's" effect to send "Mist Valley Thunderbird" to the hand to Summon "Mist Condor". "Mist Valley Thunderbird" automatically is Special Summoned back to the field. Finally, activate "Tribute Doll" and sacrifice "Mist Condor" to Special Summon "Mist Valley Apex Avian", all in one turn.
  • "Mist Valley Apex Avian" can take advantage of the new Pendulum Summon to create a near-perfect effect lockdown. Together with "Timegazer Magician" and "Stargazer Magician", "Apex Avian" will nullify the opponent's entire capacity to use card effects, since it can be re-pendulum summoned each turn after negating an effect. The combo can be broken if "Apex Avian's" summon is negated, so running multiple copies together with Counter Traps can help maintain the combo.
  • This card has great synergy with "Floowandereeze" decks, as it is a Winged Beast that can be searched and easily Tribute Summoned by a combination of the effect of "Floowandereeze & Robina" searching "Floowandereeze & Eglen", then Normal Summoning "Eglen" to search this card then finally this card can be Tribute Summoned by Tributing both "Robina" & "Eglen".
