Card Tips:Relieve Monster
- This card can be searched by "Trap Trick", "Trap Tracks", "Labrynth Archfiend", "Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle", "Lilith, Lady of Lament", "Triple Tactics Thrust", "Angel of Blue Tears", "Farewelcome Labrynth", "Labrynth Set-Up", and other generic searchers.
- An Ideal to Special Summon with this card is Recruiters.
- If you control "Armageddon Knight", use this card to Special Summon him again and get 2 DARK monsters in your Graveyard for the price of 1.
- Use this card to return "Cyberdarks" to your hand to recharge its abilities and special summon "Armageddon Knight" in defense mode to send "Hunter Dragon" to the graveyard for your "Cyberdark" to target next turn.
- Use this card with "Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus" in your hand for a free "Crystal Beast" in your Spell and Trap zone.
- Use this card with "Dark Jeroid" to re-use its' effect on the same Monster, or a different Monster. Be aware this will trigger a Replay.
- Useful for monsters like "Rare Metal Dragon" or "Sacred Crane".
- The above "Rare Metal Dragon" makes this card great for Dragon decks. Attack with "Spear Dragon", and then when your opponent attacks your "Spear Dragon" you can swap him out for "Rare Metal" again.
- This card can work well in decks that use Gemini monsters to recycle the one-shot effects of "Dark Valkyria" or "Gemini Scorpion".
- An excellent candidate to Special Summon in this deck type would be "Gemini Summoner". Not only can it avoid destruction by battle one time, but it can let you summon a relieved Gemini monster back to the field during your opponent's end phase and launch a comeback with "Dark Valkyria's" monster destroying effect or Synchro Summon using "Tuned Magician".
- This card works quite well in "Fortune Lady" decks, as by sending one "Fortune Lady Light" on the field to summon "Fortune Lady Water" while having one other "Fortune Lady" monster on the field, this allows you to Special Summon a second "Fortune Lady" monster from your hand, thanks to "Light's" ability, which is helped by "Water's" ability to draw two cards, for possible swarming.
- This card also works well with Mist Valley cards. One example would be using this card while you control a face-up Divine Wind of Mist Valley to return a face-up Mist Valley Thunderbird you control to the hand. Thunderbird will Special Summon itself, you can Special Summon a free Level 4 monster from your hand, then use Divine Wind's effect to Special Summon another monster. Here's an example combo
- You control a face-up Divine Wind of Mist Valley. Activate this card when your opponent's monster declares an attack
- Return your Thunderbird to your hand
- Special Summon a Level 4 Mist Valley non-Tuner monster from your hand
- Divine Wind of Mist Valley goes off, and you can Special Summon a Level 3 or Level 4 Tuner monster from your deck
- If you want, you can activate a Set "Urgent Tuning" and Synchro Summon "Mist Valley Thunder Lord".
- You can use this card to summon "Twin-Barrel Dragon" from your hand and use his effect to destroy a card.
- This card works well with the "Melodious" archetype, letting them summon monsters like "Aria the Melodious Diva" (who can wall attacks during the Battle Phase), "Tamtam the Melodious Diva" (who can add "Polymerization" on her Special Summon), and more.
- You can use this card to call back a Pendulum Monster from your Field to place in a Pendulum Zone, without losing Field presence. This works especially well with decks that regularly have monsters Pendulum Summoned from the Extra Deck, like Igknight or Majespecter.
Traditional[edit]
- Use with "Elemental HERO Stratos" to re-use either effect. Make sure it's Chain Link 1 or it'll miss the timing
