Card Tips:Vampire Lord

  • When using the effect of "Vampire Lord", the safest bet is to get your opponent to discard Traps since they are the hardest to recover from the Graveyard. Monsters are almost never a good idea as many Decks are designed to make use of cards in the Graveyard; however, "Book of Life" can be combo afterward to banish the monster your opponent sent and put them at a disadvantage.
  • Be aware when playing against another Zombie Deck if a Monster is called, especially when the opponent has a "Despair from the Dark".
  • When playing against a Lightsworn Deck don't call Monster because your opponent will select "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast", who has 100 ATK more than "Vampire Lord" and will be Special Summoned. Also, don't call Spell if your opponent controls Lightsworn monsters because they can select "Lightsworn Sabre", equipping it on one of those monsters.
  • If your opponent has a monster with higher ATK (such as "Cyber Dragon"), Set "Rush Recklessly" or "Shrink" and activate them during the Damage Step to destroy that monster and to force the opponent to discard from their Deck.
  • This card can be used with cards like "Silent Graveyard", "The End of Anubis", and "Necrovalley" to negate the effect of cards that would activate on the Graveyard, or that target cards on the Graveyard, then any card can be send from your opponent's Deck to the Graveyard with this monster effect, and prevent them of being activated.
  • Combine it with "Overpowering Eye", so your opponent still sends a Monster Card, Spell Card, or Trap Card to the Graveyard.
  • Using "Mist Body" with "Vampire Lord" would only force your opponent to destroy "Vampire Lord" with card effects.
  • Equip "Vampire Lord" with "Metalsilver Armor" to ensure that it will be the monster destroyed by any of your opponent's monster-destroying effects.
  • If monsters is declared, your opponent will run out, and it will be harder to defend against it. Spells or Traps could also can be declared over and over to deplete 1 category of card, which can be interesting.
  • "Vampire Lord" works well in an "Inca" Deck, mainly because it's Level 5 and can be easily used as Synchro Material, plus it can Special Summons itself from the Graveyard, which is the main focus of the "Incas".
  • Equip this card with "Shooting Star Bow - Ceal" to decrease its attack to 1000 but able to attack directly, then equip this card with "Heart of Clear Water" to prevent it from being destroyed.
    • Alternatively, instead of using "Heart of Clear Water", the effect of "Reverse Trap" can be activated. This monster will gain 1000 ATK and still can attack directly. The effect of "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" can also be used (by sending a card from your hand to the Graveyard) with the above combo to increase the ATK of this monster by an additional of 500 (the effect of "Reverse Trap" still activates"), and then, this card will have a total of 3,500 ATK and can attack twice your opponent's Life Points directly, performing a nearly confirmed OTK. To prevent your opponent of using cards that can break this combo such as Trap Cards , cards like "Trap Stun","Royal Decree", "Tutan Mask" or "Dark Illusion" can be used
  • If a combination of "Ojama Trio" and "Battle Mania" is used, 6000 battle damage can be done and get rid of 3 cards.
  • If this card is in a Zombie only Deck, then the use of "Solidarity" can make it into a 2800 ATK monster that makes it very difficult to destroy by battle in the early game.
  • "Vampire Lord" can be easily Special Summoned from the hand with "Skull Conductor".
  • Use "Blustering Winds" on its card to give a 1000 ATK/DEF boost until the start of your next turn, allowing it to deal damage, destroy a card from their Deck, and keep it safe from being destroyed in battle during your opponent's next turn.
  • Using this card alongside "Fairy Meteor Crush" will insure that, no matter the Battle Mode of an opponent's monster, the damage can still be deal and force them do send a card from their Deck to the Graveyard. Cards like "Enemy Controller" and "Block Attack" can force strong monsters into Defense Position, as oftentimes high-powered monsters have low Defense, such as "Monarchs", making them easier prey to this card.
  • This card can be a useful counter against "Crush Card Virus", as if it's destroyed by it, it will come back the next turn.
  • If this card is destroyed by battle, use "Rope of Life" to revive it and make it 800 points stronger.
  • Using "Shift" when your opponent uses a monster destruction card, such as "Offerings to the Doomed" or "Soul Taker", and redirect it to "Vampire Lord" will not only save the original target, but allow "Vampire Lord" to revive itself later.
