Forum:...Wind-Up Kitten Ultra? Why?

Okay, I can understand why Rescue Rabbit got a rarity change to Secret Rare, but what prompted the rarity change of Wind-Up Kitten to Ultra? I mean, when it was a normal Rare in Japan, I could kinda see it being a cheap replacement to Ryko in Hamster builds, but that's not enough to bump the rarity, is it? Like Neo-Spacian Grand Mole, but that's bad explanation - What I am saying is that Kitten is little superior version of Grand Mole; the former bounce along with the target monster while Kitten just bounce the target monster alone. And I am get a feel that this card will hit the limited list soon. --FredCat 18:37, November 4, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, but I haven't seen any decks in the Japanese game that even sides it. To be honest, besides it being a Beast (and thus being able to be used with Super Rush Recklessly for more spin/bounce action or for use with Horn of the Phantom Beast, I don't see it being superior to Grand Mole, since you'd need another card to reuse its effect. I understand, just give them time to adapt into having Kitten as exist. I know it's not very popular at it first appearance. Either that or Konami's Rarity Editor is being trolling on us. --FredCat 18:55, November 4, 2011 (UTC)
I'm going to go with the latter, since - as I said - the card doesn't seem to be any better than Grand Mole except in Hamster builds. Don't get me wrong, I've thought about using it, myself, but I don't see it reaching mainstream enough to be put in most decks.SynjoDeonecros (talkcontribs) 20:46, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

the cards crap even in wind-ups its pretty freakin horrible ya dont wanna run it especcialy with all of the good support maybe tech one but its not worth maining konami just does things like this alot and usualy we hate them for it lol its just another case of konami being scrubs and thinking just because it bounces a card and dosent bounce its self its ZOMG SO BUSTED Raiga (talkcontribs) 21:09, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

Can't think of many reasons. There could be the thought of a Empty Jar tactic being used with the cat swirling in ther minds being further supporeted by an actual archetype but that isn't really that bad...obviously the mole can be slowed down by Utopia and some basic traps but eh konami be trolling. 96.249.204.41 (talk) 21:29, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

Because of this I want an Ultra Rare Penguin Soldier. Djjomon (talkcontribs) 21:57, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

I've run Wind-Ups on DN, and I found Kitten to be effective and really cheap. You can search it with Zenmaighty and Factory, or revive it with Rat, and use its effect to trigger Factory. Being a +1 to Extra Monsters is helpful, and it can overwrite a few annoying things like Rai-Oh and Kristya. Though I agree that Ultra is too far...

It's actually a very good card. It also benefits from Wind-Up Support. I've been using it in Wind-Ups with a lot of success. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 13:37, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, but WInd-Ups and Hamster builds are about the only uses I see from it, and that's not nearly enough to bump it up to Ultra. I'm starting to think Konami IS trolling us with this, since they also bumped Shard of Greed to Secret. Wh? It's not that useful of a draw card. Simply because it has "Greed" in its name, it has to be a high rarity? Ugh... SynjoDeonecros (talkcontribs) 15:11, November 6, 2011 (UTC)
They make most TCG Exclusives Secret Rares. Also, the rarity does not have to match the strength. Otherwise, every deck would be super expensive. Also, you can tech it into lots of decks - it's like a Grand-Mole that isn't vulnerable to D-Prison or Sakuretsu. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 17:51, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

Quick question...I've never seen an answer to this.

- Question about looping Wind-up Kitten's effect with Wind-up Zenmaister. -

Can Wind-up Kitten's effect be used/triggered during the end phase of the controller turn player after flipping face-up due to Zenmaister's effect?

It's an ignition effect which leads to believe that it does activate and thus can be used.

Sincerely, Kaneco

First one; no, his effect is Ignition, only activate during your turn at MAIN PHASE.
Second one; Yes, once per it face-up on the field, take/ it off/flip it face-down then place it face-up reset it.
