Forum:A lot of rulebooks, guidance, tutorials? What is Konami up to?

Even the anime is messed up with those things, and even a tutorial CD is to be released. That's a heck of effort. I wonder whether their card game is decreansingly popular in its homeland, or this is just one step to expanding the market. What do you think?Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 10:12, June 18, 2014 (UTC)

The addition of a new mechanic with each new series (Syncro, then Xyz, now Pendulum) typically requires them to create and distribute new rule books to clarify any question existing players may have and attempt to put the game in simplest terms possible for any that may want to join the game. This isn't the first time Konami has released a CD to teach the game (there was a set with Starter Deck: Yugi and Starter Deck: Kaiba with such a CD). As the mechanics of the game become more complicated, the CD is needed to give a visual demonstration of how the rules apply (there was mass confusion with the Pendulum mechanic).
