Forum:About E-Teleport

I beleive that Emergency Teleport could stand to be semi-limited. Cause the way I see it they limited it because of Tele-DAD. Well with D-Hero Mali, Allure, DAD, and Plaguespreader all hit by the list plus the fact that newer Tele-DAD decks only used one copy of Teleport, I simply don't understand why it was limited. So I would like everyone to post on the subject as I would like to hear everyones opinions as to whether they think it should stay limited or move to another place on the list(banned, semi-limited, or unlimited)so that I can understand more about why it was limited and see from other peoples points of veiw as to why they think it was limited. Please don't be rude to anyone who disagrees with your point of view and please sign your posts. Monarch1 06:52, November 7, 2009 (UTC)

A Little Too Powerful To Be Semi-Limited

The way I see for E-Tele is that it was simply too powerful of a card due to the comboes that it starts and its high versatility in any situation. The most common method of using E-Tele was to normal summon first and summon a Tuner Psychic monster to through E-Tele to get any Synchro monsters within 3 levels of the monster used for the normal summon. There's not much hand advantage lost in it either, since you're summoning from your deck (most of the time), and you can pick any Psychic monster which fits the bill, which is almost like searching it out with no limitations whatsoever. Which is probably why you can see it and some Psychic monsters splashed into many decks other than a pure Psychic deck.

Some people use E-Tele use E-Tele for just purely the monster though; the monsters summoned by the E-Tele aren't bad as well. By themselves, Krebons can hold off enemy attack for one turn, Psychic Commander can potentially turn into a 1900 attack beatstick and in a pure psychic deck, Mind Master can start the "famous" OTK starring Brain Research Lab, Reinforced Human Psychic Borg and every other psychic monster in the deck. These monsters can certainly hold their own, but they can also used for Synchro and Tribute purposes. Highly versatile? Oh yes.

And then there's those "really famous" combos involving E-Tele, which is basically the core reason how Tele-DAD decks came to be in the first place and also how they ended being one of the top decks of all time (less so with the banlist). Stratos, search out Malicious, put Malicious in grave through Destiny Draw, summon a Malicious through 1st one's effect, E-Tele for Krebons = lv 8 Synchro monster. If you started off with 6 hands while executing this combo, you'd end up with 5. Which is like playing one card for an instant Synchro summon. Without the E-Tele, you'd have to use your normal summon for a Krebons, which could possibly not be in your hand at that moment and you'd probably already used up the normal summon on the Stratos. Which equals Plan A wrecked. It's due to E-Tele that makes the Tele-DAD deck exist in the first place (it's in the freaken name for goodness sake), which could possibly suggest that it's too powerful in its own right.

With all that's said, I think that E-Tele should stay at the Limited spot, like it has been for some banlists. Having 2 is a little like overkill in my opinion, but it's not too powerful that it should be banned since it's a card that needs to combo with other cards in order to be executed to its fullest extent. Oh, and shouldn't this go in the Lists discussion? We ARE sorta discussing the banlist here... Swaggs 09:21, November 7, 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for sharing your views, it's true that E-Tele is a versatile card that has contributed greatly to THE MOST dominant deck in history and it did contribute to an OTK in Japan, and one thing that I hadn't thought of before posting this discussion is that people abused it for insane speed once, and even with those decks destroyed by the ban list, people will try and abuse it again (however key word being TRY I still think we could try it semied for a format). PS I debated on whether or not to put this in the List Discussion page but decided to put it here because this is a discussion page about Yugioh in general and the topic that I posted in the page is about the card, and yes it is about this cards place on the list but because I was unsure about whether to place it there or not for the reason said above plus the List Discussion page is full of stuff that doesn't even pertain to the list ( Did Genisis Dragon get released yet, Rate my Yubel Deck, etc, etc ...) I figured posting here would be best. Monarch1 05:42, November 8, 2009 (UTC)
