DID YOU KNOW THAT IT YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO PUT DECK RESTRICTIONS ON ADVANCED RATED. READ THE HOSTING MESSAGE ONCE IT COMES UP! (Meklordsa5m (talkcontribs) 10:32, March 11, 2012 (UTC))

If there is one thing I love more than anything about Dueling Network, it is the fact that I get to play against other people using other decks, so I get to see all different types of decks going on. It is great. In the last week, I have had met people with Wind-Ups, Inzektors, Rescue Rabbits, and I just played against a guy using the new dragons from the next booster series.

However, what I am sick of is stating you are deck testing, so you get people that destroy your deck with Wind-Ups, Inzektors, and Rescue Rabbits. Sure, it shows me that my deck is inferior to those three, but from what it seems like, every deck out there is inferior to those three. That is why those cards cost $60+ a piece on ebay. That is why everyone who goes to a tournament seems to play them. That is cool, but when I am deck testing, I want to try my decks out on something other than the dominating three. It's like the words DECK TESTING are a magnet for those decks because it is an easy win.

It does not stop there though. I ended up in three duels in a row with someone using Rescue Rabbit. Finally, after that, I get a guy who is using a nice normal Infernity deck, and the moment I put Kageki and Kagamusha on the field in my first turn, he quits. -_- Then I get another guy who won the first match, but the moment I got Shi-En on the field in the second match, he "had to go because his dad needed his help."

This is not fun. What is the point of playing on there if half the people are only playing to win every match and the other half just quit because the game is not going their way? How am I supposed to even know if my deck is working or not if I cannot even get a fair game?

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 19:37, March 10, 2012 (UTC)

Well, what you can do is if you find a person who isn't a jerk, you can add them to your friend list, or go online with your friend that way you can actually test a deck against something that is on its level. If you want to add me, my name is Arroganceclause so feel free to pm me if we're both online at the same time.

Also, dueling in unrated is the place I go to play unrated, that's kind of the place for the slightly weirder, flawed decks since there is no penalty for losing.

Finally I found that dueling people with ratings lower than yours is a really good way to ensure that you'll be playing people near your skill level (although this is a sweeping generalization)Trak0don (talkcontribs) 00:09, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

That's just it, I rarely ever use the rated set. The only time I use a rated duel is when I am completely confident with my deck.

And I have no idea how to know who is close to my rating.

Thanks, I'll add you when I go on there again.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 02:22, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

I go on unrated. Haven't fought against anything, except LS and the occasional Windup. Today I used an xyz spam deck using xyz territory, which worked great. Other guy used some form of TG agent. (I don't know because I won quickly.) It was fun overall. Adamtheamazing64 (talkcontribs) 04:19, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, any of the people can be annoying (and I haven't played since elementary school, when Yu-Gi-Oh first started)... The Dueling Network is a great idea and all, I just wish they could make the program work with the cards so that you don't have to do all the counting... But that would probably take forever to make because there are so many cards... :\

The other thing I have notice is that the shuffle system seems to suck. Sure, it is a computer, and shuffling can always end badly, but I seem to get a dead hand 80% of the time on it compared to in reality.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 06:00, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

They will probably remain superior until konami starts learing how to do a proper banlist. Because at the moment these 3 annoying, skill-less decks will not disapear until konami stops making them immune to being hit by the banlist. Konami should stop creating cards that create huge advantage for not doing anything at all. It's so annoying how people are winning tournaments with these skill-less decks. Any idiot can run dino rabbit ,inzector or wind up. There is no skill involved with these decks at all. The decks exists so idiots who can't win duels with REAL decks will tournaments.

One of my latest duel test - my opponent was like "Good Game" and used Future Fusion, milling 3 Cyber Dragon, 3 Jinzo, and 3 Jinzo - Return. He summoned all Jinzo (trap-jammer) onto the field, banished 1 Jinzo - Return and 1 Cyber Dragon to SS Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning. Last card he used was Limiter Removal to boost up all Jinzo and kill me. What did I do, set a s/t that didn't stop anything. --FredCat 11:49, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

I think first turn kill decks hould be banned on the dueling network. Why should I sit and wait and 10 minutes if they are playing the duel by themselves? You do realise people whi use first turn kill decks are trolls?

[email protected] (talkcontribs) 12:07, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

Banlist is doing the work to block the OTK/FTK - however I don't think Admins would be pleasure for that if you begged them to block that kind of combine off the site. If you successful get it in, you lost like 7000 members from there because most of them love quick duels, not slow. --FredCat 12:13, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

DuelingNetwork wont ban any cards that aren't on the banlist.
As much as I hate dueling "Solitaire" decks Konami loves them, so I can't do crap about it.
Also @Meklordsa5m, the fact you can't specify decks in rated is stated on the Dueling Network forums under rules. The fact you can't read rules isn't anyone elses fault but your own. Rated is for any deck vs any deck, if you want to vs select decks go Unrated. If I'm not mistaken the only thing you can actually specify in rated is Language and OCG/TCG.
Infact, I've seen a few admins who find it fun to go into duels that say "No Synchro/Xyz/DW/Rabbit/Wind-Ups/Inzektors/etc" and play exactly what they don't want.

They won't get rid of OTK decks, but I agree. It is boring, if nothing else. I had a guy use Poison of the Old Man, boosted himself up to 1200LP. He then used Gale Dogra, discarded 3 BEUD from his extra deck, bringing him down to 200 LP, and then used a Reversal Quiz to switch our LP to win the game in his first turn.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 17:00, March 11, 2012 (UTC)

Kain, that's always a little chancy, plus he had to call it right with Reversal Quiz. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:22, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Well there was another card he played that let him put a card in his graveyard (at least, I think it was from the graveyard, it is hard to keep track at times) on the top of the deck without shuffling, so he knew what card type would be on the top.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 22:16, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, curious how can your opponent won the game (The one with Reversal Quiz) if his cards are discarding? --FredCat 22:18, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

He switched our LP and I think he used some other card to take away the remaining 200. I don't remember anymore, as I did not even get to have my turn. He then just left the match with "YOU LOST HAHA" in the text box.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 05:51, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

Sparks go!
123.211.144.181 (talk) 07:01, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

It had to be either Black Pendant or Fuhma Shuriken. Those are the only cards that work in with Reversal Quiz like that. --> Summoned Skull 2: Electric Boogaloo 07:41, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

Yep, it was probably Sparks because the only monster he had on the field was Gale Dogra, and Fuma cannot equip to a non-ninja, and I know he did not have Black Pendant on.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 15:31, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

They don't required to be equipping on monster in order to inflict 500 damages; they can be set on the field and send to the Graveyard in order to inflict the damage, other explain is Ancient Gear Tank. Like "Sangan" effect, it don't required to be face-up in order to triggering it effect. --FredCat 15:43, March 13, 2012 (UTC)
It's a very risky deck. He needs Poison of the Old Man, Gale Dogra, Black Pendant/Fuhma Shuriken, and Reversal Quiz to pull off his FTK (and that's with the risk of guessing wrong). If he wanted to ensure his victory he'd also have to use A Feather of the Phoenix. That's 4 very specific cards needed in his opening hand (5 with insurance) with no search engine (other than a few extra draw cards like Upstart Goblin) to make sure you get it. The kind of deck you usually accuse people of stacking if they consistently win with it. It is purely an FTK deck as he wouldn't be able to pull it off if he lost a few LP (no second chance). So I go onto DN a few minutes ago for the first time in a few weeks. I wanted to test out a Samurai/Nordic Deck combo, and I state this as such that I am deck testing. So we go into a match, and the dude uses an Infernity deck that destroys me on his second turn (which was the third turn of the game). He is just doing all of these combos, syncrhos Mist Wurm, clears off my field, does another combo and another combo that has his field with Mist Wurm, Dark Grephor (or something like that), that Gondora Dragon or something like that, and another card that is 2000 ATK and then says, "Hold on, I'm still thinking of what to do next." I just responded with, "Doesn't matter, I didn't even get to do anything dude," and I admitted defeat and left.

If I am DECK TESTING, and state I am DECK TESTING, DO NOT bring in a deck that will not even let me TEST MY DECK!!!!! Is that so hard to understand?

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 22:14, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

I don't see the problem, you were deck testing and the deck your deck test was against happened to be infernities. And it's not like they're tier 1.
If you don't want specific decks say in the note "No this, this or this", you can't do this in ranked though and chances are someone will duel you within your rules but with a deck you don't want to verse (e.g. no synch/xyz they'll use exodia/burn).
The only decks I don't use against deck testers are control decks since stopping their deck from doing anything would go against testing the deck in the first place.
121.222.170.239 (talk) 00:01, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

The problem is, he did this infinite loop on me where I had no cards on the field and he had 9200ATK on the field. There was nothing I could do other than accept defeat. He had everything he needed in his hand right from the get go, because I Fiendish Chained his first card, and he breakered it (or was it Infernity Barrier?) immediately.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 05:03, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

Oh... my... god...

Today was the first time I have been on DN since March and I got one duelist that quit on me the moment I pulled out a Samurai, and another that has decided to eat dinner while I am playing him and has currently been gone for 10 minutes as I am waiting for him to either use a trap or destroy his monster. I cannot quit because then it counts as a loss towards me.

-_-

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 23:02, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

Just call an admin, if your waiting that long already, asking an admin to come isn't a big deal either. Plus, yeah Infernities aren't top tier, the point of deck testing is to lose, that way you know what your deck is weak against, and winning helps you know what it's strong against. Plus, that's what a great side deck is for, side in Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror, etc. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:26, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I clicked on the admin button, but after 5 minutes of waiting, my opponent said sorry and then quit the duel. -_-

And then I played and won 5 duels after, but only because all five of them rage quit on me. Worst part is, one of them would have won the duel if he had stayed for one more turn because all I had were two cards I could not use.

It sucks losing, but it even sucks more winning only because my opponent quits on me.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 00:55, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

Look like this article has become your "journal"... Since you're the one being post most of the time. --iFredCat 01:02, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

Meh, whatever.

Dr Kain (talkcontribs) 04:26, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

I duelled one today he activated soul exchange on my evilswarm ophion and I chained it with infestation collapse and he claims I can't do that Haousy (talkcontribs) 19:31, May 20, 2012 (UTC)

I don't have many problems with people on DN. People use it to test but don't want to play the meta? Then how do you know that your deck will stack up to anything anyone else is using? If you don't want to take your deck against an Inzektors deck cause "everyone plays it", then when you have no other choice you'll be screwed cause you haven't tweaked to be able to tackle Inzektors. Sure they got annoying, until Dimensional Fissure/Macro Cosmos and Thunder King Rai-Oh got thrown on the field. That takes away most of Inzektors. There are many tweaks to getting around the meta, but it seems like no one wants to face the meta to be able learn their weakness and be able to tackle them so the meta will stay around.

Hell, what am I talking about? I hate facing Inzektors, Wind-Up, Dino Rabbit, Dark World, etc. I dread facing them decks. It's like if you know you are facing them, then you know your opponent is in for the win and not the fun and that sucks. I usually run an Ojama deck or my current Horakhty deck and those decks make it boring to play with either. If you want an easy way to get rid of those playing the meta when testing put something like "Come for the fun, not for the win" (what I use), "Testing. No META!!", "Come with originality", etc and usually those people will see the message and get the point and go rack up a win somewhere else. Every time I've put "Come for the fun, not for the win" I've gotten people that joke around, give advice, and give amazing duels. I've played against Thunder, Inzektors/HERO, Dino HERO, and several decks that seemed thrown together. You just have to learn how to communicate with people on there. Trust me, not all of them are dicks. Dexus 913 (talkcontribs) 07:17, May 21, 2012 (UTC)

I use six samurai so I can't really get mad at people for using the top 3 (but at least I am making the deck in real life) anyway when I get up against Inzketors, Wind-ups, or Dino rabbits I play until it is immediately obvious I will lose and then I say "GG remtach?" simple as that. I also don't do to bad against them either I'm 5-3 on Inzektor, 4-0 on Rabbit, and 3-4 on Wind up.
