Forum:How does my AoJ deck look?

Ally of Justice: 44 cards total + 15 Synchros

Hmm

Your deck follows very closely to the archetype of AoJ, which I'm happy about since these guys can really punish the Lightsworns that I've been losing to here and there. However, I think you're overloading the monster category (30 monsters? Whoa) and you've got almost nothing in your spell category, which means you're missing out on a basic concept for dueling. I'll offer some pointers to make your deck better.

I assume you want a deck which consists fully of AoJ monsters, so all I can suggest is that you take out some so you leave room for more magic spells. I'd suggest taking out Researcher and Enemy Catcher, since they only cover Defense monsters and not following with the crush the light monsters strategy. Also, take out some high level AoJ monsters since you really don't want a dead draw by drawing something you can't summon. As for your spell cards, one spell isn't going to cover everything. I'd highly recommend you put in spell cards that support Dark monsters, since that's what the AoJ monsters consist of. Some examples include Dark Eruption (recycle the Ally Bombs), Allure of Darkness (you absolutely need draw power) and Fires of Doomsday (tribute fodder for the higher level monsters). Not to mention you're missing out on some staple spell cards such as Monster Reborn, Heavy Storm, and MST. I think your traps are okay, although I think you can lessen on the Draining Shields. Finally, for your Synchros, I think they look fine except you might have forgotten to put Ally of Justice Catastor. You need him for the ability to crush any monster while DNA transplant is out. I think with this your deck will flow a lot better and faster than before. Swaggs 00:08, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Haha

I play WC 2009 too, and I know what you mean. Usually, the CPU opponents are too stupid to know how the decks work (Who the heck chains Stardust's effect to their own Heavy Storm??) so even mediocre decks (My Vanilla deck with a Blowback Dragon thrown in) work against those which should be more powerful but are not played right by stupid CPUs. The changes I suggested, though, applies better to real life situations against humans so if you don't think my changes are necessary, then go ahead and go with your old deck. Although, I think Catastor is still a necessity. Swaggs 03:38, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

  • yeah the AI is.... lackluster.... but I will add some of your changes (now if only the AoJ cards were real) and as soon as i get Catastor i am adding the brokenness of that card~MEOW~ Might of the BIRD Empire~~ 04:17, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
