Nomination

Astounding work. Always the first to find the info. Manages to find hard-to-find info and images too. Dedicated user. I trust X-Metaman's judgment. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 23:40, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve as an administrator. Please answer the following four questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
A: Not any specific pages, since I edit basically everything. But, being able to delete images will make easier to replace watermarked/poor quality jpg images.
2. What do you consider to be your best contributions, and why?
A: Keeping the site updated with the latest news (cards, sets, etc.). Also uploading the Spanish images of DEM2 (the only images that I scanned myself)
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: I don't remember anything at the moment.
4. Do you regularly contribute to any other wikis? Are you an administrator or bureaucrat on any of them, or do you have accounts with similar roles on forums, blogs, etc. Could you provide links, if so?
A: No. Currently I only contribute to this wiki.

Other editors may post optional questions for the candidate here.

Question from Cheesedude

You obviously have a tremendously good grasp on how to edit. My concern, then, is your interaction with other users (or lack thereof). Lack of interaction isn't a bad thing implicitly, but I honestly do not think I've seen you argue, disagree, or even really agree with another user, which makes me curious how you might respond to that when it comes up as a admin (and it will, that is the nature of adminship).

1. When is it okay to block a user who is not a vandal? As an example, let's say there is an edit war between two users. Both have reverted several times. One of them is in-line with policy in terms of the page content, the other is not. How do you deal with each user? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:01, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
A: Well, regardless if the page is in-line with the policy in terms of the page content, the users should not start reverting each other multiple times. I would just warn them that they should stop reverting and discuss the changes on the talk page. Then, I would block them if they keep editing and reverting without discussing the changes.

Support

  • +1 (nominator). Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 23:40, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Seconded. X-Metaman is a venerable stallion. Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 00:12, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
  • He's the one who rushes to keep the text of recently revealed cards in the best shape possible, and occasionally even corrects some mistakes found in Org's translations. Not to mention the tons of images uploaded. I support, definitely. GMTails (talkcontribs) 01:30, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
  • +1. Already mentioned above, he is very much a reliable editor. KyrusDarkblade244 (talkcontribs) 01:44, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Honestly X-Meta should have been offered adminship years ago. He's very hard working and I've never seen him cause an unnecessary conflict. I think he would make great use of the tools that we admins possess. Golden Key (talkcontribs) 12:34, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Thirded. He's very reliable when it comes to card lore translations. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 21:55, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
  • X-Metaman has been a committed volunteer for years. Until recently I honestly thought he was already an admin, but just wasn't part of the staff chat. --SnorlaxMonster 02:44, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
  • I agree with UltimateKuriboh below, but I support. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:44, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Oppose

Neutral

  • My position is "neutral", but weighed towards "support." The reason for this is because I have no clue how X-Metaman would treat users he may argue with. It may be best if X-Metaman stays away from user management, apart from blocking very-obvious vandals. Other than that, he's been a very useful editor. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 07:06, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
