Yami Diva wonders which of his opponents he should defeat first and chooses Yugi. However, Kaiba redirects the attack to himself using "[[Krystal Avatar (anime)|Krystal Avatar]]", a Trap monster that takes on his LP and inflicts it to Yami Diva upon being destroyed, reducing him to 4000 LP, but wiping Kaiba out. He hands Yugi the Millennium Puzzle, before disappearing, demanding that Yugi "call him now" (in the dub, he states that he saved Yugi for the Pharaoh, believing that he will return). Yugi puts on the Puzzle and continues the Duel, as the effect of "Crimson Nova Trinity" inflicts the damage that Yami Diva took to Yugi, but Yugi discards his "[[Clear Kuriboh (anime)|Clear Kuriboh]]" to reduce the damage he takes to zero. Regardless, "Crimson Nova Trinity" attacks again as it destroyed a monster, halving Yugi's LP once more, to 200. Yugi is able to block this attack too, banishing "Clear Kuriboh" to draw a card, which he can Special Summon if it is a monster and redirect the attack to, but Yugi's body reaches its limits and he finds himself incapable of drawing his next card. He apologizes to everyone and begins to black out, but is suddenly engulfed in a beam of golden light.
Atem, dressed in the [[Domino High School (manga)|Domino High School]] uniform, appears, much to Yami Diva's utter horror. Without speaking, Atem draws the glowing card for Yugi, and he Summons "[[Palladium Oracle Mahad (anime)|Palladium Oracle Mahad]]", who kneels before him. "Mahad" then destroys "Crimson Nova Trinity" and defeats Diva, whose body reverts to normal before disappearing.
Gold light bathes the stadium and the other people whose bodies had faded away reappear. Yugi and Atem split into separate bodies and stand facing each other. After a moment of silence, Yugi nods and Atem touches the Millennium Puzzle, making it and himself disappear. Joey, Téa, Tristan and Bakura congratulate Yugi, who informs them that he saw Atem. Joey mentions seeing him earlier too (in the dub, he simply asks if Atem asked about them, as Atem did not save him earlier in the dub) and the group is approached by Kaiba, who is interested in the fact that they saw Atem (in the dub, he comments that he told them so). Kaiba acknowledges Yugi as a competent Duelist and Yugi thanks him for believing in him. Kaiba gives him a smile and parts ways.
