so if two monsters w/ 0 atk, both in Attack mode, battle, neither die?

It isn't that straightfoward, believe it or not. This topic has been debated for a long time.

OCG:"The old texts of Waboku and the current texts of Charm of Shabti and Phantom Beast Thunder-Pegasus (both the TCG and the OCG texts) refer to Battle Damage being inflicted to monsters. Since it is known that, if 0 Battle Damage is inflicted to a player's Life Points, then an effect that activates when Battle Damage is inflicted to a player's Life Points will not activate, it stands to reason that, when 0 Battle Damage is inflicted to a monster, that monster is not destroyed."

In the OCG, monsters with 0 ATK will not destroy each other by battle.

TCG:"The TCG rulebook states that, when monsters of equal ATK battle each other in Attack Position, both monsters are destroyed. No word on the wording of the OCG rulebook."

In the TCG, monsters with equal ATK will destroy each other by battle regardless of the ATK points of the monsters.--Hide Head Turtle 15:11, May 6, 2010 (UTC)
