Metal? Legal?

So, any info about the Prize metal version? it was legal afterall? KnightTurpin (talk • contribs) 04:45, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

The announcement we just got is, to date, the only source we have that any of these prizes were metal. The wear visible on File:SuperWarLion-T0-JP-UR.png makes it clear that card is just a normal cardboard card, and it would be weird (but not impossible) for Konami to have decided to print the different prizes on different materials. What we really need here (as we always have) is some source from around the time of the tournament either confirming that some of these prizes were in fact printed on stainless steel plates, or by the conspicuous absence of mentions, confirming that they were all just cardboard (or a statement by whoever currently owns copies of them, or has owned copies in the past, ideally accompanied by clear photographs).

Similarly, we've never had any source that these cards are illegal. If some of them are actually stainless steel cards, then presumably they'd be considered marked cards, which would make them illegal for sanctioned play, but apart from that there's no reason to think they would be - they have never been listed on any Forbidden or Limited list that we've seen, and there's even a Decklist printed in a magazine from the time which includes one of them (as a sort of "dream Decklist" affair).
