Translation Help[edit]

Yeah, my question is: what the heck is a gasser?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 16:38, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

That's how they spoke his name into the "English" language. I also was confused when I first see this name - gas? Did that warrior dude fart or something? --iFredCat 16:40, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
A "gasser" is actually what the type of hat he's wearing is called. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:43, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
Is there a real translation for other languages then?--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 18:07, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
What do you mean? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:13, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
I dunno, if it's a type of hat, is it possible for other languages to have their variations? I can't find any Croatian references for it, and somehow I got the idea to use "Gašer" (gah-sher) as a translation.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 18:23, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
No idea. As far as a I know, its called a "gasser" in English. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:27, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
The person who gave the translation also explained that "Dododogassaa" (Dododo Gasser) is a portmanteau of "Dododo" and "sandogasa", a type of hat in Japan. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 19:43, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
In that case, it is not "Gasser" at all. It should be "Dododogasa." 200.7.201.145 (talk) 22:35, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
Other "Dododo" monsters disagreed. Also, almost all Gagaga monsters don't have their names connected, only Spell/Trap Cards had their names connected. --iFredCat 23:07, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, here's the gist of the problem: The card is named after a http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%B8%89%E5%BA%A6%E7%AC%A0 三度笠 (さんどがさ/Sandogasa). However, its name is written out as Gassaa (ガッサー), which is how you say Gasser. It could be wearing a Gas Mask it looks. One of the key problems is Zexal has a tendency towards Yuma's monsters to rely on puns and wordplay. So while it refers to a Sandogasa definitely, it's also probably intended to refer to a Gasser/Gasmask/Gas. NeoArkadia (talkcontribs) 09:54, July 11, 2013 (UTC)
