I cannot recall that it was mentioned that the Supreme King, Jaden's past life, had lived in Neo Space nor had been related with Neo-Spacians.

That's correct. The Neo Space thing is a misnomer. It would certainly make the plot make one hell of a lot more sense if it was Neo Space, but that is never mentioned in either version.
