Extra Normal Summon[edit]

Okay, there seems to be a conflict about this. Does this card work like Pahunder or like Double Summon? Does it have once-per-turn restriction, 'cause when it was posted on Shriek, it didn't have that restriction?! MadRest 01:56, October 27, 2012 (UTC)

Shriek doesn't concentrate on standardizing its translations to PSCT lore. Their main focus is translating the cards, and they sometimes make feeble attempts to format it in the TCG fashion. This is where I have had experience, because I remember a lot of card texts, and use old card texts as references for formatting new ones. In this case, I can confidently say there has been no prior case where a card has had the "(You can only gain this effect once per turn)" restriction, except where extra Normal Summons are allowed.
The reason why the "hunder" archetype does not have this restriction is because they allow more than the 1 bonus Normal Summon per turn. They allow it so you can combo by Normal Summoning Pahunder, then Sishunder, and another "hunder".
There is no reason to have the "(gain effect once per turn)" applied to the Tribute Summon; it can be easily replaced by "Once during the turn this card is sent to the Graveyard:" and be less restrictive. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:31, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
That's what i thought at first, but after comparing it to other cards, mostly extra Normal Summoners, it's trying to refer that specific effect. Like, you cannot use the same kind of effect anymore such extra Normal Summons. Not all cards are same. This part convinces me to write it like that. このカードが墓地へ送られたターンに1度だけ、「ヴェルズ」と名のついたモンスターを召喚する場合に必要なリリースを1体少なくする事ができる。
I don't know if I should or should not mention it, but Heroic Challenger - War Hammer and Union monsters are also similar. LastMinute (talkcontribs) 02:46, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
*Shrugs* I am wary of doing adding phrases to new situations without precedent; in my mind, the "(You can only gain this effect once per turn)" is meant to prevent effects from being broken and spammed. I can understand how multiple Normal Summons in the "Constellar" archetype can be broken (which is why other members of the archetype have the restriction as well), and also why the restriction wasn't applied to "hunder" archetype. However, I can forsee no reason why that effect can only be used once per turn. Once per "Evilswarm Cercyon" monster is fine, but not just once for the entire turn.
I understand that Japanese lore is stated a certain way, but I prefer to stick to precedent. The only reason we are sticking with "gain effect once per turn" for the 2nd effect (in my opinion) is because the other archetype members have it as well. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:10, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
I don't know why Konami did they that for the third effect, seeing i have no clue what combos are they trying to prevent, but since the third effect is exactly the same as the second, I'm going to continue that pattern. Maybe... we should get a third opinion. LastMinute (talkcontribs) 03:21, October 27, 2012 (UTC)

Shouldn't this card text like Pahunder and Mahunder?? This card don't give you a Normal Summon in addition to your Normal Summon/Set , it summons a monster during the resolution of its effect just like the hunders. The text should be "Once per turn, if you used this effect this turn: You can Normal Summon 1 "Evilswarm" monster as an additional Normal Summon." --X-Metaman (talkcontribs) 19:24, November 14, 2012 (UTC)
