About the renaming[edit]

Vortexdome (talkcontribs) 13:23, October 15, 2017 (UTC) How is this a possible reference to Thraex gladiators?

"Dragacius" is not a real word, nor are there any similar words related to gladiators. The romaji is "Doragashisu". The "Dora" can easily be a substitute for "Thra". Also, the end is a "sis" sound, not "sius", and this is closer to the "ces" in Thraeces.  HHT   13:26, October 15, 2017 (UTC)

Dragacius can be a non-existent word for all I care. I still don't get it.
All of the names of Gladiator Beast monsters are references to gladiators or the Roman Empire. This monster's name could possible be a reference to the Thraex [1], which was a type of Roman gladiator. Thraeces is the plural of Thraex.  HHT   13:41, October 15, 2017 (UTC)
But isn't S the stand-in in for TH in Japanese? I'd say "Draegaces" is closer to what they appear to be going for. --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 13:49, October 15, 2017 (UTC)
There is no hard rule on transliteration. For example, Thracians is usually transliterated as トラキア人[2]. It isn't too far-fetched for ドラ to be "Thra".  HHT   13:56, October 15, 2017 (UTC)
