Type[edit]

This card isn't Divine-Beast-Type. It has its own Type, making it the 23rd Type in the game, the Creator-Type. As seen here: [1]

Compare the characters of the Type to those of Obelisk and Ra's card.—This unsigned comment was made by 69.204.132.138 (talkcontribs) 04:17, 2011 December 9

Compared to File:ObelisktheTormentor-VJMP-JP-UR.jpg, the left words are different. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 04:32,

From what I've read elsewhere, it translates to "Creator God-Type". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 04:35, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
創造神族 = Creation God-Type
幻神獣族 = Mirage God Beast-Type (Divine-Beast-Type)

Just noticed that it's the same words as in its name, so if we call it "The Creator God of Light, Horakhty", then it should be "Creator God-Type"

Male or female?[edit]

Can anyone say for sure which it is? It looks to me like an angelic, androgynous male, which fits with actual mythology where Horakhty is a male figure, but FredCat says it has breasts, and I... can't really tell. Rod (talkcontribs) 20:56, December 11, 2011 (UTC)

Have you seen the anime or the manga?--Shiker the Phoenix King and the King Emperor(Talk) 20:57, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
It has female voice in the dub. --93.86.187.19 (talk) 21:06, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
Horakhty looked female in the anime to me and had a feminine voice in the English version. They have a female voice actor in the Japanese version too. But it looks male to me in the manga image we have and I think when cards are based on mythological figures, they usually have the same gender. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:18, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
The body build is not just androgynous, but quite clearly feminine, even in the manga image (though due to the angle and the cape and whatnot, it's not easy to tell). You don't see hips like those on males, regardless of where you look. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:42, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
I thought same, and male don't have that arm like Horakhtys'... too "vase" feature enough to be female. --FredCat 21:46, December 11, 2011 (UTC)

Support For Divine-Beasts?[edit]

Should this card be considered a support card for Divine-Beasts?Chibispore (talkcontribs) 01:35, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

No. It supports each of the three God Cards individually and specifically, it does not support Divine Beast-Type monsters in general. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:54, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarity. I got a little confused.Chibispore (talkcontribs) 15:10, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

English release.[edit]

Any chance we will see this in America? 131.191.88.47 (talk) 03:25, May 3, 2013 (UTC)

It is unknown. Since it is a legal card in the OCG, it should be, but the exact date is unknown. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:29, May 3, 2013 (UTC)

Rename to "Holactie the Creator of Light"[edit]

The Monopoly name is certainly an official name, but there are other official English names. Should the Yu-Gi-Oh! Monopoly really have more influence than the other sources?

For reference, the following English-language media have given her a name.

  • The anime uses "The Creator of Light".
  • The manga uses "The Creator God of Light, Horakhty", but in a number of cases the manga uses the Japanese version name, rather than the English anime or TCG name.
  • The English Duel Art also uses "The Creator God of Light, Horakhty". It uses English anime and TCG names, but with a few deviations. e.g. "Blue-Eyes" → "Blue Eyes", "Celtic Guardian" → "Celtic Warrior".
  • The Monopoly game uses "Holactie the Creator of Light".

Well, the Monopoly game also called the Millennium Ring, the Millennium Dream Catcher as see here, so it can be taken as non-official. But looking up the name Holactie the Creator of Light result in this wikia. This was create six years before the Monopoly game, so this name was known and it came from a unknown source. Also, another factor is the official yugioh.com. Overall, two for the official yugioh source and one from a unknown source. WinterNightmare (talkcontribs) 21:53, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
If the name's been around for a few years, my best guess is that it might have been included in DVD extras. It's also possible the asker on that wiki translated the katakana themself and got "Holactie" or made a very coincidental misspelling, but they both seem unlikely.
For yugioh.com, it's like they did with "Divine Serpent Geh" and "Timaeus the Knight of Destiny", who were only called "Divine Serpent" and "Knight of Destiny" in the anime. In all three scenarios, the anime gave the title, but not the name. In the case of "Knight of Destiny", the TCG also used the full name. Maybe we are just as well following yugioh.com for this. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:07, July 30, 2016 (UTC)
Well, to be precise, the full name for "Divine Serpent Geh" and "Timaeus the Knight of Destiny" came from the episode description before yugioh.com. However, there is no episode description that mention the English name of "Horakhty", so leave it alone and wait to see the upcoming year or either rename it "Holactie" by following yugioh.com. WinterNightmare (talkcontribs) 19:16, July 30, 2016 (UTC)
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Handbook also uses "Holactie The Creator of Light" (with that capitalisation). With at least three official sources now, I think we should rename it. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:09, September 1, 2016 (UTC)
The website and the Monopoly game both use lowercase, so it's 2 official sources vs 1. Until there is another instance of capitalization of "The," it's safer to say that Konami screwed up once on the handbook than twice on the monopoly game and the website.
