ATK points[edit]

We should leave this monsters ATK points at ???, instead of 10,000 until the next episode, as we don't know if it had 10,000 ATK points because of an effect or if it is it's original ATK points. --StephenWalker97 (talkcontribs) 17:34, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Technically?[edit]

Wouldn't this card be a part of the C10X, just not summonable by "Chaos Mad Feast"? I mean it is over-hundred... :$ ? --slave(commandworks) 03:05, February 10, 2014 (UTC)

No, as a "Number 10X" monster has a number from 1 to 7 for X in their name. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:07, February 10, 2014 (UTC)
But isn't that only a restriction on the card? They intended it only to included 101-107 but... that is one cards text, that doesn't change that 8 cards are higher than 100..? Although that's entirely card text as well... afflvkhhvgi XD --slave(commandworks) 03:16, February 10, 2014 (UTC)
...No, that's literally the qualification for the archetype. If it were just "Number 10X", then no monster in existence would be a member of the archetype, since no monster has "Number 10X" in their name. The phrase (X is any number from 1 to 7) qualifies the archetype members by replacing the X with a number. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:26, February 10, 2014 (UTC)
I would say it qualifies as our former definition of Chaos'd Over-hundred number (a series rather than a proper archetype) but at present, defined as they are as the archetype Number C10X (X is a number from 1 - 7), it can't go here. Aeron Solo wuz here (If you wanna talk) 03:44, February 10, 2014 (UTC)
Correct, and we're not about to make a "series" just to include this monster either. >_> --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:46, February 10, 2014 (UTC)

Renaming[edit]

Shouldn't this talk page be about the naming because of what it says on the card page (that this is an issue about renaming the article, and not the card's archetype)? The Golden Ninja 21:12, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

The above discussion was separate from the renaming issue. The "rename" tag was added sometime after that discussion. As such, I separated your comment from it. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 21:43, March 14, 2014 (UTC)
Oppose renaming the article at all. Seriously??? There is an extra part after "Numerronius" in the Japanese name, which would make the English Dub equivalent "The Divine Giant." Also, if "Number 1000" is ever released, it will most likely be named just "Number 1000: Numerronius", so this page's title should be left the way it is to avoid any possible future confusion. Besides, if the English Dub really shortens the name to simply "Numerronius" in the future, than the article can always be renamed in the future, AFTER we get a confirmation from the English Dub. TheNeoTachyonDragon1007 (talkcontribs) 01:10, April 10, 2014 (UTC
There's nothing after "Numerronius" in the Japanese name, the "Hollow Spirit of Delusion" part is a prefix and its meaning doesn't even really match the phrase "Divine Giant" (where did that come from in the first place?). To back this up, there's plenty of cards whose Japanese names consist of [Something in Japanese] - [Something in English], and for the majority of them, the Japanese part was simply cut out when translated. To name a few, I can think of "Lava Golem" and "Rainbow Dragon". Blueapple128 (talkcontribs) 18:12, April 12, 2014 (UTC)
Chaos Numbers always have something extra tacked on after the archetype name, and this card is no exception. In the English Dub, the extra portion would come right after the Numerronius part, so the article shouldn't be renamed at all until we see the official English Dubbed version of the name. TheNeoTachyonDragon1007 (talkcontribs) 23:48, April 13, 2014 (UTC)
As for your question, The Divine Giant portion came from a translation of the initial name of the monster in the preview (I don't remember that name anymore, only that the Japanese name was Numerronius and then "something"), so unless the English Dubbed name proves to be a different one, we should stick with this translated name. TheNeoTachyonDragon1007 (talkcontribs) 23:48, April 13, 2014 (UTC)
"We might have to rename again later" is not a valid argument for not renaming. Furthermore, "Divine Giant" is not part of the translation at all, so the name is wrong altogether. 00:33, April 14, 2014 (UTC)
I never said "We might have to rename later" at all. TheNeoTachyonDragon1007 (talkcontribs) 05:27, April 15, 2014 (UTC)
Regardless of whatever was said, the main argument is that the current translation is wrong and there is already a trend in place for handling monsters whose Japanese names are "[Something in Japanese] - [Something in English]", which is to simply cut the Japanese part. Blueapple128 (talkcontribs) 23:27, April 16, 2014 (UTC)
Add the recently-confirmed English name "Number C5: Chaos Chimera Dragon" to the list. It too has a Japanese part right before the English "Chaos Chimera Dragon" which was simply cut. Blueapple128 (talkcontribs) 01:56, April 24, 2014 (UTC)

Reviving the rename discussion[edit]

Personally my stance is clear: There's a precedent in that when a card's Japanese name is [Number X:][Kanji][Katakana], the Kanji is often simply cut for the English name, with C5, C103, and C73 as examples. The words "Divine Giant" appear absolutely nowhere in the Japanese name, especially not after the word "Numerronius". And finally, the YGOrg has chosen to localize this card's name as "Number C1000: Numerronius". The current rename block was from ages ago between an unrelated edit war over whether to name it "Numeronius" or "Numerronius". That's well over and resolved by now. Unlocked. Feel free to rename. If not, I'll get to it at some point in the next few hours. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:19, May 28, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the fast response! Blueapple128 (talkcontribs) 16:53, May 30, 2014 (UTC)
Sure. Thanks for reminding me that I move-locked the page. I had completely forgotten and wondered why no one had moved it. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:31, May 30, 2014 (UTC)
