Name[edit]

As there is only a press release source not from the official website, the article should not be moved. Press releases like that have a track record of sometimes not using the eventual official names. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 20:15, February 23, 2017 (UTC)

Even if I really hope it is BS, it was still used by at least two different sites. --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 20:22, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Two sites? GoGTS and GTS Distribution, right? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 20:56, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah. Do they not count since they have the exact same description? --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 21:04, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
They seem to be affiliated to each other, hence why I was asking if you were talking about these two. In any case, they both use the exact same wording. So yeah. Let's leave the {{Rename}} there, but let's not be precipitated. The names this source present might still be revised. Happened with "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon". Ok, I've noticed the link to the official site. However, I am hesitant to move due to what happened with "Yokotuner": en; uk. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 22:54, February 23, 2017 (UTC)
I think it's best to leave the page's name alone for now. There's no real rush in my opinion to move things, especially with how many pages link to this one. (Lucafriz (talkcontribs) 08:28, February 25, 2017 (UTC))

Japanese name[edit]

So. I believe that the Japanese translation for both this card and the character should also be "Z-ARC" (or "Z-arc"). If it was just "Zarc", it would be written "ザーク". Hence, the Japanese name /also/ uses an irregular spelling, using "Zu" plus a small "a" (that would form the sound "Zwa", which it doesn't, considering how they pronounce it in the anime) instead of "Za". My edit was reverted because "the Japanese anime spells Zarc", but when did that happen? The only time I remember seeing Zarc's name in romaji in the anime was when Reiji showed some picture of the Arc Area Project to Yuya, which showed the names "Ray-A" and "Z-Arc", with Zarc also spelled "Z-Arc" if memory serves right, so that'd just be extra reasons for the intended name to have an irregular spelling, like "Z-Arc", in the Japanese version as well. I don't think it's right to say that the Japanese translated name would be "Zarc", as opposed to the English one. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:02, April 30, 2017 (UTC)

If that was the intention of the Japanese side, you'd think they would have been consistent at least this time. --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 18:28, April 30, 2017 (UTC)

Romaji Name[edit]

After many edit conflicts (or not?). I would like to say that "Romaji are to follow the Kana, not vice-versa". Should it be put that The reading is fixed to "Zāku" as per the pronounciation and label a marker noting that this isn't a normal reading. Say, "Haōryū Zāku*". Before rejecting this, please try typing "Zwa-ku" while your keyboard is Japanese Microsoft IME. I would like to say that it results in "zわーく"(Z(Wa)-(Ku), I did not change it to Katakana setting), and thus, is not the correct representation of the reading.0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 15:34, July 20, 2017 (UTC)

Before beginning a discussion, as the one who first added the current romaji, I'd like to point out that (assuming the Japanese typing setting of Google Translate works the same way) to write the reduced kanas, you don't always do it how they are officially translitterated (e.g. typing Di trying to get 「ディ」 results in 「ヂ」). To write out 「ズァーク」, try it as "Zu la - ku".
Secondly, I chose to render 「ズァ」 as "Zwa" because listing it as "Za" conflicts with 「ザ」, and because 「ズ」is "Zu", and when "U" is put together with a small wovel, it becomes a "W" (e.g. 「ウィ」 "Wi"; 「ウェ」"We"). At the time it was the closest thing I could find.

Indeed, the official translitter differ from the input setting. 0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 12:56, July 22, 2017 (UTC)
For someone who's totally clueless about Japanese, that person would outright skip the Japanese Part or take a look at the Romaji and said "Oh that's how these thing are pronounced". For someone with little knowledge about JPnese, they would indeed say as you predicted, that's why I opt for "A label". For someone who knows some (Yu-Gi-Oh!) JPnese, they would either remain "What is this???" or search it on Google (Or any other search engine, just tyring to be generic).
I do know that "Zwaaku" is pronunced "Zaaku", but not everyone knows, that person maybe "How do I read 'Zwa'."
After all that, I would like to confirm my words for the second time: "Romaji is nothing but a mere representation of a character's reading, and thus, needs to follow the reading method, despite any conflicts". 0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 12:56, July 22, 2017 (UTC)
We could add a ref to the table explaining the actual pronunciation. Would that be fine with you? --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 13:07, July 22, 2017 (UTC)
Opt-in. Anyway just disregard me, I am not the one with authority here after all. 0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 03:57, July 23, 2017 (UTC)
