Quick Query[edit]

If we take the literal meaning that the monster is required to be Tributed for it's effect, it can be argued that neither Cannon Soldier nor Cannon Soldier MK-2 should be in this category, as self-sacrifice isn't an absolute requirement for it's effect activation.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 01:20, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

Then, take it out yourself if you feel that's necessary. 70.79.84.206 (talk) 01:21, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
I wanted to get some community input first, as it may require a reassessment of how monsters are classed in this category. Same reassessment should also apply to 3-Hump Lacooda, as the effect essentially activates on one monster, and that Tributes 2 other monsters for it's effect activation. Allure Queen LV5 doesn't even have a Tribute effect in it's lore.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 01:24, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
Just give a brief reason why you changed it like "It doesn't actually state that it tributes itself for cost". secondly, don't use "it's" as a possessive. It's = It is. "Its" is the proper word. Always seeing people doing that... 70.79.84.206 (talk) 02:40, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I agree that this cat should only be used when a monster must Tribute itself, not when a monster can Tribute itself. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:59, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
Maybe add a new category for the latter case, something like "Can Tribute itself for cost"? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:23, December 5, 2012 (UTC)
That seems superfluous to me. :/ --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 04:26, December 5, 2012 (UTC)
And this is why we need to have a massive discussion about how we want to handle all these categories going forward. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:44, December 5, 2012 (UTC)
+1. I came up with these to provide a functionality similar to what the search function in later video games offered players, it would probably be a good idea to go through them all, and at least make sure that the included cards fit the description.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 12:21, December 5, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, the whole system needs cleanup. Trying to fix them is one thing on my "check this when editing any card article list". There's also the massive redundancy issues of listing a card that "Destroys your opponent's face-up Attack Position Monster Cards in every sub-category below that down to "Destroys Monster Cards. We really need a way to automatically made any card in the first category in the second by default. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 13:40, December 5, 2012 (UTC)
