YuGiOh! Virtual Desktop[edit]

Since you're the only YGOwikia member I've spoken to, I want to ask you something about the site.

Can I upload exe files to the site? Because I recently created an article for YuGiOh! Virtual Desktop and to be quite honest, most of the files on the internet has since gone, meaning I've got the only latest copy of the files for it on-hand.

Normally you're suppose to upload images, but I wanted to know if YGOWikia would like to host the files for this very rare dueling program that hasn't been mentioned anywhere before on the site.

Thanks for your time, Louisisthebest 007 12:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Opinion Wanted[edit]

I'm new here, so would you please take a minute to give me some deck suggestions. My deck is at User:Blue-Eyes Fan. Please put any suggestions in my discusiion.

Buster Blader[edit]

The effect i had in the anime only list about blader happened in yami's duel with Strings in part 2 i believe.

Revert[edit]

I've made you a SysOp, along with 3 others, based on yuor contributions to date. It's an SysOp-only option that allows for one-click reverting of Vandalism, etc.

the article[edit]

it already exists as this article Ruklamba the Spirit King the reason i deleted form the list is because it's in anime and Video game only ok User:LeafGreen Ranger

Orichalcos Kyutora[edit]

This card is listed as Anime and Video Game only but ive never seen it in a video game. If you know the game it appears in tell me in my talk page. ~ Evil Yugi

  • Thanks! --Evil Yugi 23:07, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Guardian Kay'est[edit]

  • How do you know she couldn't be targeted in Yami's first duel with Rafael? Rafael never said he couldn't attack her. --Evil Yugi 15:36, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Errata pages[edit]

Hello Anna, just a note on errata pages. Could you please include both the old and new text on the pages? Deltaneos 12:28, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

  • You don't necasserily need the card images (it helps though). You can just type Old card lore followed by the old text and New card lore followed by te new text. And if you really want to upload images, click the "Upload file" link in the toolbox below the search menu. Glad to help. Deltaneos 12:36, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Oh yeah, one more thing include the pages in Category:Card Errata and file them correctly by typing the card name after a "|" in the link. Deltaneos 12:40, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

New templates[edit]

I'd better inform you about the new templates for trivia, erratas etc. They've been designed for smooth navigation through the card info sections and will also include them in the correct category. Their naming is the same as the last ones just without the AZ at the end. Their usage is like this,

{{Tips
|name=Sangan
|name2=Sangan
}}

examples where the article name differs from the card name are done like this,

{{Trivia
|name=Skull Knight 2
|name2=Skull Knight #2
}}

Usually name and name2 will be the same. Well that's it and thanks. Deltaneos (talk contribs) 13:44, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

  • You needn't worry about typing the category at the bottom of these pages the templates will automatically do this and file them correctly. Deltaneos 14:03, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
    • No problem. Deltaneos 14:06, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Sorry if I've being a pain, but I also made a template that should hopefully make it easier to do errata pages using the format involving images see Card Errata:Skull Knight 2 for usage. If you come across one thats been errated multiple times see Card Errata:Armed Dragon LV7 for usage. Thanks again and hope this helps. Deltaneos 14:21, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Rulings[edit]

  • Do we include netrep rulings as offical or unoffical? -- Huajun Chen 13:50, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Alright, whatever floats your boat, miss. But just know that "Unoffical" translates into "Mentions in Other Rulings"; I know this because I created most of those pages. -- Huajun Chen 14:00, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
      • 'k, no problem. -- Huajun Chen 14:05, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Rulings and Trivia[edit]

  • ...I want to say something to you, but I'm not sure how to phrase it. -- Huajun Chen 21:34, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Maybe you should look back over your last few edits and deletions. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 21:37, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
    • They're official rulings, there's not much sense in re-wording them. Irrelevant Mentions in Other Rulings can be cut down. The rulings pages they come from are to be linked to in time, June has a groundwork philosophy about getting everything in first. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 21:42, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Essentially what Del said. Almost all of them were reverted and I'm feeling awfully sorry that all your hard work is being wasted away. And I understand what you mean by not just "copy-and-pasting" the rulings from other articles; Del has trouble when I do that too, but I've started to break this habit very recently. As for Trivia, I use Spike & Barons + Edo's YGO page for verification. -- Huajun Chen 21:43, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
  • The quotation marks are there on the ude and netrep sites, that's why we've included them. I don't see anything wrong with taking them out, I'd say go ahead if you really want to. You may need to ask TTF, but I'd say he'd be okay with it. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 18:58, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Actually I'm not so sure now, since the cards themselves include quotation marks around card names. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 19:17, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Yeah they need to be linked. -- Deltaneos 19:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Very sleepy, what do you want?[edit]

  • No, I don't... -- Huajun Chen 21:29, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Citing sources[edit]

  • Citing sources is not necessary. Rulings come from ude, that's what they are, so they're self referenced. Translated Japanese names are translations of the Japanese characters on the cards. So the cards are source info. Anyways if you want to see how to cite sources correctly see the Lyman Banner page. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 14:23, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Erratas + rulings[edit]

  • We're to mention all changes to a card's text in the errata pages, not just the first and last. For example you left out the DP1 text for Draining Shield. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 16:18, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Leave them. We'll have all the rulings pages in the future. Do you know where to get the rulings from? They come from upperdeckentertainment or netrep. Netrep has all the rulings from ude and it also includes where the cards name appears in other rulings, that's where the "Mentions in Other Rulings" comes from. -- Deltaneos (talk contribs) 16:28, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Finding Anime appearances[edit]

Linking to duel summaries + Images[edit]

  • Hi, I notice you've been linking to the duel summary pages in the anime and manga appearances sections. We've considered scrapping those duel summaries pages, after we merge them into the episode pages, for example: Yu-Gi-Oh! - Episode 001 - The Heart of the Cards#Featured Duels. Is this okay with you? -- Deltaneos 20:07, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
    • I guess we'll just have to include all that's shown and say something like continued next episode or to be continued. -- Deltaneos 16:33, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Most images deleted lately have been because they weren't named right and were subsequently uploaded with the right Image name. The problem with the Hinotama images is I don't think we ever had them, the gallery just put in the links to the images as they would be named. Sorry if it was like I was attacking you when I restored that page. Btw, Do you still need to know how to upload images? -- Deltaneos 15:26, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
    • So I see. Problem with the Hinotama one is should have been LOB-EN056, the one you uploaded was LOB-056. Don't worry about it though, you're still doing fine. -- Deltaneos 18:12, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Translated Japanese names[edit]

Way back, you mentioned, that translated Japanese names should go the Card Article itself. We've started doing it that way now. See Rainbow Dragon for example, it shows up the just below the English and Japanese names, the second time their listed. Although it only works pages using on Template:CardTable2, which can be used for any card article, if it's Monster, Spell, Trap, Anime Only, Bandai etc. -- Deltaneos 19:07, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Prefixes to namespace[edit]

Sorry to bother but, have you read Yu-Gi-Oh!:Community Portal#Prefixes to Namespaces? Basically it would change Card Gallery, Card Rulings, Card Errata, Card Tips, Anime and Manga Appearances and Card Trivia: pages to a special type of page, like pages starting User: or Template:.

Advantages:
  1. We'll be able to filter the Recent Changes to just tips, rulings, whichever.
  2. When your searching for pages you can select any of these as a namespace to search in.
  3. Currently when you click random page, you're more likely to land in a page regarding a card that has many of the pages in the Other Card Information section. For example Elemental Hero Necroshade has all six pages in this section, so you have 7 chances of landing on a Necroshade page compared to Spike Seadra where you have only 1 chance of landing on a Spike Seadra info page.
  4. You'll be able to open a random Gallery or a random Tip etc. by using [[Special:Random/Card Gallery]] etc.
  5. We'll be able to merge the Card Navigation templates and will not need to include the name parameter. Just simply add {{Navigation}} or {{Index}} (whatever we call it) to the page. Whereas before you would have to type
{{Trivia
|name = Dark Magician
}}
In case where a name2 parameter would have been needed, we would just need to type {{Index|Dark Magician}} instead of,
{{Trivia
|name = Dark Magician (Arkana)
|name2 = Dark Magician
}}
The one template would hold for all pages in the Other Card Inforamtion section, so {{Index}} would be used in each page insted of Template:Rulings for Rulings, Template:Tips for Tips
Disadvantages
  1. You can't get random page to land in something completely random, it will only open a random page in the Main Space (which will exclude Galleries, Tips etc.). Unless you specify it be a random gallery, tip, etc.

We need feedback before we can do anything, so let us know if you have any thoughts (for or against). -- Deltaneos 12:32, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Right...[edit]

Um... you were refering to the translated Japanese names right?

Also, do you know about archiving your talk pages? Usually when a talk page passes 30kb in length or has well over 50 headings, we'd move the content to another page. I do it by moving the page, but most people do it by cutting and pasting the content. -- Deltaneos 14:43, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

{{Navigation}}[edit]

Just to make life easier, now we only need to put {{Navigation}} on the top of Rulings, Errata etc. pages. And {{Navigation|Jinzo #7}} for example, on the odd ones. -- Deltaneos 13:57, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

What Del said[edit]

The Legendary Ranger[edit]

You're The Legendary Ranger? -- Deltaneos 21:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Following up: ...so are you a girl or a guy then? Because I presumed you were a girl due to the fact it was a girl's name, but if you're using your friend's account...? -- Huajun Chen 22:57, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Sharing accounts? I... can't say that's allowed, epsecially since she earned the sysop privilages. Anyway if you see Anna, tell her we miss her. -- Deltaneos 22:59, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
    • Anyway, you're a good user, it doesn't matter. --Tyrant Slayer 23:01, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
    • Regardless, it's nice to meet some new (well sort of). I'm still a bit sorry for not getting to know Anna. -- Deltaneos 01:18, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

The (Attack: ) snippets were my doing![edit]

Don't worry, Anna, I'm not sore over it. At least not now that I know your reasoning. Anyways, I have decided that the problem was that they were in the wrong place. The "Anime and Manga" pages would be the perfect place! I need halp, and you said you liked the snippets, so...can I consider you "recruited?"

Revival of Sennin Genjin[edit]

Which video game did you get the "Revival of Sennin Genjin" text from? You can use |fmrlore = , |tsclore = or |rodlore = on the Card Article to add the text from Forbidden Memories, The Sacred Cards or Reshef of Destruction. -- Deltaneos 14:26, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Been awhile[edit]

  • Hey there. It's been a long time. How've you been? --Dark Yugi 14:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

I was just wondering[edit]

uh, I hope this question dose not offend you, but, are you a girl or a guy?Dragon of chaos 19:01, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

See ya[edit]

Wow. I'm sorry I didn't get to know either of you as well as I'd have liked to. 'Fraid there's little change of me going back to wikipedia too. But good luck rather than goodbye, hope to see you around somewhere. -- Deltaneos 16:40, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

Welcome back[edit]

I got a surprise when I saw your name on the recent changes. Good to see that you're back. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:13, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

Removal of card infobox from appearances pages.[edit]

Having that infobox there was useful, as it displayed the original lore of the card, before it was adapted for the TCG/OCG. If they get removed, I feel that we should list the anime/manga lore of the card somewhere on the appearances page, so that one doesn't have to go back to the main page of a card for effect clarification. I just thought I'd point that out. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:51, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

Xyz Monster Effect Ruling[edit]

There is no section on Yugioh Wikia if I have an Xyz Monster and my opponent has Macro Cosmos if I can use the effect of my Xyz Monster. Now it is already proven that Xyz Monster Effects Detaching The Material is the cost to activate the effect of the Xyz Monster. But it says detaching is to send a material attached to the Xyz Monster is to send it to the graveyard.Which I believe it's telling you where the card goes. Now my question is.If my opponent has Macro Cosmos and I have an Xyz Monster can I use my Xyz Monsters effect but the Materials get Banished or can i not use the effect of my Xyz Monster? —This unsigned comment was made by Hawks777 (talkcontribs) 19:06, January 23, 2012

omittion?[edit]

When I search up the list of all synchro monsters it seems that everything is ok. but when i log in and go to showing all the synchro monsters. (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Ask?offset=0&limit=500&q=%5B%5BClass+1%3A%3AOfficial%5D%5D+%5B%5BCard+Type%3A%3ASynchro+Monster%5D%5D&p=format%3Dbroadtable&po=%3FJapanese+Name%0A%3FLevel%0A%3FAttribute%0A%3FType%0A%3FATK%0A%3FDEF%0A%3FCard+Number%0A) it seems that black rose dragon is missing. I know that it is a synchro monster and all, but for some reason I was searching through and it appears that black rose dragon is not there. Not only that but it does show u in any of the other pages. I don't know if this is a server error or a computer misload. IDK. But i thought i should bring it up in case someone how really needs that information searches and does not find black rose dragon in the list.

Thank you.

Welcome back[edit]

Just wanted to say it's nice having you back again. But ummm, I also wanted to ask, why did you change the anime lore for "Dragged Down into the Grave"? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 20:29, August 30, 2013 (UTC)

Ryusui has helped out translating and transcribing a lot of the Japanese anime text, including the one for "Dragged Down into the Grave". When it's not him, it's usually User:NeoArkadia who does his translations on another site. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 21:50, August 30, 2013 (UTC)
