Carly

In WC11 downloads, Carly Nanosa is called Carly Carmen, where do I put the image and stuff? -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 13:23, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

I'd say rename the article and add the image to it in the same manner as the other Charisma/5C's characters. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:55, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

Loads of work...

Hey boss, i just found out that those whole images in this gallery, this one, this one, that one and finally that one have to be renamed... And the galleries are just messed up with some 1st ed pictures next to unlimited editions... I would love to help but i don't know where to start... Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 21:41, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

It's actually the same for the Gladiator's Assault galeries... Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 21:56, May 2, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, there's those images and thousands more. In the past we didn't use the -UE, -LE, -1E part of the filename and only uploaded either the 1st or Unlimited Edition print of a card but not both. So there's still loads of images that need to be renamed since the name format was changed.
Moving all of them is a lot of work to do in one go. I'll try and set aside a few time intervals to move them. -- Deltaneos (talk) 23:53, May 2, 2011 (UTC)
Allow me to also point out (again, actually ;) ) {{OCG-TCG card image}}, which takes a lot of potential error out of checking card file names and allows us to rename the files when necessary with a single click (as I said before, it relies on the still-really-incomplete {{Set}} system, but placeholder bits can be added pretty easily for sets as they're encountered, and later fleshed out or replaced (depending on what I figure out, but you don't have to worry about that (it's my problem ;) ))). The template also complains if it thinks it doesn't have enough info (IIRC, there may be cases where it doesn't ask for the card's edition when it should (mostly for Japanese cards, which are usually Unlimited Edition (in which case the template doesn't need the edition) but can also be Limited or Duel Terminal Edition (in these cases, the template *does* need the edition)), or vice versa, but it should usually be accurate), with the correct parameter names included, so remembering how to use it is in most cases as simple as adding {{OCG-TCG card image}} to a file page and previewing. And no, I don't normally make a habit of nesting parentheticals like this; this comment may actually be a new record for me. =D ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:37, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
There are a lot of anime/manga card images that aren't named properly either, usually they lack the series part. I guess I'll take this opportunity to ask something I've been meaning to ask for a while. Why are png images "by far preferred"? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 04:51, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
Just a guess on my part, but the most likely reason can be summarized in two words: "lossless compression". ;) As for anime/manga card images, I've said elsewhere that I intend to add support for them to {{OCG-TCG card image}} (semantically, it doesn't really cover animanga card images, but a separate template would just duplicate the majority of the current one, and there aren't any really big differences in naming that need to be accounted for); I just haven't gotten around to it yet. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:02, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
Is there really any way for regular users to help in renaming all of these, or only admin can do it? Cuz, I mean, you're doing a massive and great job but there is so much to do... I'll do my best to help you doing some stuff such as modify the galeries with the future "good" and "corrected" names. I also found a great Special Page that helps a lot finding images on the wiki that are not related to any pages yet: Special:PrefixIndex Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 06:49, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately, only sysops... like admins. However, you could fill out Yu-Gi-Oh!:Requests for adminship for a chance of gaining access to it; proof required of course.
Special:UnusedFiles should do exactly that, however someone in the past decided to do it the easy way and move images and leave redirects behind and not rename the images on the page instead :/
Now that that is 'disabled', I guess that's the only way to do those. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 06:57, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
Well, I'm the main sysop on the french version but I won't try it here since I know I didn't work enough here to be able to become an admin. Maybe i'll try one day.
Yeah I saw thos redirects... So you guys will actually have to rename some files and also to delete some useless redirects... Tough job haha! Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 07:02, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
Don't worry too much about the amount of work for us admins; Falzar, Delt, Cheesedude, and I all rename files, and if need be, either Delt's or my bot can be given the admin bit to rename files en masse - the really tedious work is actually everything associated with renaming the files (mostly updating all the places the files are used; unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to automate this with AWB that wouldn't be almost as much work as doing it all by hand), as opposed to the actual act of renaming the files in and of itself. ;) And don't be so hesitant on requesting adminship here; based on what I've seen of your work so far, you look to be a promising admin candidate (and the fact that you're already an admin on the French wiki means you also have (at least a bit of) experience with the tools). =)
Falzar: My (extreme?) long-term goal is actually to empty Special:UnusedFiles (and Special:WantedFiles) as much as possible, so it can actually be *useful* again, but it's gonna take (quite) a while even with four admins moving stuff and however many users updating pages. =/ ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:19, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
and Blackwings0605. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 08:28, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
Oh yeah, i didn't know that you had a Bot. At least it will be quicker but yeah, there so many Unused files... I'll think about the request for adminship, I'm really not confident with my english and I'm afraid it could be penalizing. I think that knowing the tools isn't enough to be a good admin... But anyway, it's no the subject of this talk. I really do think that the major and the biggest work to do here is about the pictures... It can be such a mess! So let's get to work i guess! XHTML Ruby Support alternative

I've found another program that appears to do the same thing, and is compatible with the current versions of Firefox. See here. Assuming it does work as well as it appears too, maybe adding the link to the ruby text explanation page (which I cannot bloody find right now) would be good. Let me know. We need your advice!

Hi Delt, we need Here your advice about naming cards from old sets in languages that don't use the english set reference (SDK in english / DDK in french for example). What should we do? Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 08:31, May 6, 2011 (UTC)

Set card lists

On the Extreme Victory page, it appears some cards on the OCG side of the table still use their OCG names. Is this intentional? I don't see a lot of this on most other set pages. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:55, May 6, 2011 (UTC)

They probably just weren't changed after the English names were confirmed. -- Deltaneos (talk) 18:57, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
Damn. Alright then. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 19:00, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
And also, this site is little slowly to change. I noticed that when couple latest packs (before EXVC come) were adding into English. But still, don't worry, this site will be able to catch up and eat all English name before you know it, Cheesy-- Er, I mean Cheese --FredCat 19:14, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
The "damn" was actually because I think that using the OCG names for the OCG column is a good idea. So I was disappointed that we weren't doing it that way. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 19:17, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
So you referred to those article of OCG name next to TCG name column? So D-Man denied it and ripping them apart into two clones? --FredCat 19:28, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
What? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:18, May 7, 2011 (UTC)
*cough* I meant by this, a spoiler list and stuff, you know? --FredCat 00:28, May 7, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I'm saying that I think the spoiler lists should use the OCG names in the OCG column. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:38, May 7, 2011 (UTC)
And I am think we should shove those kind of style in old, ancient than dirt packs (such as LOB, etc.) because I don't see any at first. --FredCat 00:45, May 7, 2011 (UTC)

The range 220.255.*.* (220.255.0.0 - 220.255.255) is 256*256 = 65,536 addresses. That's a bit much to block. 220.255.1.0 to 220.255.2.255 is 512 addresses and covers most of them. You can block that range using Special:Block/220.255.1.0/23. If you didn't already know that, you can find more information here. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:36, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, thanks. I wasn't 'certain' on how it worked and the page said don't use it unless you're sure. Also, I wasn't sure if the rate of vandalism was bad enough for a ranged block to be used. I'll only use it if it continues at a similar or higher rate.
Also, can you please share some thoughts on Talk:Speed Spell#Why is this an archetype?, it's not urgent, so you can take your time with it. Thanks again. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 14:07, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

The page was moved properly this time. I've checked Episode 104 of the English anime and Primo says "When I've managed to complete the circuit and summon the Divine Temple I will be the favourite so it won't matter what Jakob thinks.", so it looks like the name is also official. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:18, May 8, 2011 (UTC)
Therefore that user was true first time, right? --FredCat 13:22, May 8, 2011 (UTC)
Well the first time it was moved by copying and pasting the contents from one page to another and then redirecting the old page. That messes-up the page history. And they didn't say where the new name was from, so it was harder to check if it was true or not. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:33, May 8, 2011 (UTC)
I see, so it's all good that user learned to use "Move Topic" part. --FredCat 13:36, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

Summary question

In your opinion, what is the best way to deal with a character that has not yet been formally introduced in a summary. At Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Episode 001, my insistence of not writing omniscient caused me to refer to Yugi as "the stranger", Sho as "the Duelist that faced "Leghul" and Misawa as "the applicant". Should the names just be used even if we wouldn't know them at the point by watching the episode. This is even more important in later episodes, due to Yubel, who wasn't really introduced until about twenty-two episodes after its debut. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:21, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

There's two different scenarios. One where the name just isn't said and one where the identity is a secret. In the first case, I don't think it's too important. e.g. the Syrus and Bastion examples and characters like Usui and Sakamaki, whose names as far as I know are only mentioned in the credits. In the second case, it's better not to say their name, e.g. Rudger (or was it Demak) spinning the "Ancient Fairy Dragon" card at the end of 5D's ep 19. Yubel probably falls into this category too. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:09, May 10, 2011 (UTC)
You can also link to characters' articles without explicitly naming them in prose, e.g. the stranger. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:45, May 11, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, I do. And that's how I do plan to link things like Yubel and Tragoedia before their formal introduction. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:39, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

Shonen Jump Subscription Promos

I know that the information on the site is correct so I've been wondering something. My brother got an Exchange of the Spirit and I got Cyber Harpie Lady, Embodiment of Apophis, and Ancient Lamp in Shonen Jump Issues. I'm also nearly certain that I got a Winged Kuriboh LV9 in a more recent issue. I think the early ones may or may not have come from a used-book store but I know for sure that the Cyber Harpie Ladies were in a few different copies of one issue that I go. Japanese doesn't have as many syllables as English, so sometimes uses similar ones instead. For example, they don't have a "le" syllable, so use "re" (リ) instead. There're many other examples. As a result some foreign words have the same spelling when written in Japanese. "リバイス" is a valid spelling for both "Revise" and "Leviath". "Leviath" is what the English version is using and the card is a Leviathan, so I think we can assume it was the intended Japanese name too. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:23, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

According to Falzar, it's another one of Wikia's "improvements".BobaFett2 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:58, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

It's same for me, as I could see no FR019 and so-so. --FredCat 19:15, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
Improvements? That's damn not an improvement... It was so easy to just click on the missing picture to upload it... Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 19:29, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
I know, I also rather the old version, which was bigger and comfort than this shit change. --FredCat 19:32, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
I don't know if it's an intentional change or a bug. I'm asking about it though. Someone else has asked about this on Central. It might be worth keeping an eye on that forum for replies too. -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:39, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
If this chaos is keeping up, I will vote to bring back old version of Wikia looking from past. I already disliked this new version, it's not so fun anymore. --FredCat 19:43, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
Thought I said it was probably an 'upgrade'. It's a bit different to saying it 'is' an upgrade. It's probably a bug as well.
Unfortunately, most new people decide to upload files to the incorrect name anyways, and they edit the galleries. Not only does it take longer for them, it also takes time to move the images back and then revert their edit in the gallery. That being said, why aren't we interested in adding Edit Notices? -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 00:08, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
I trusted you, Falzar, and honestly, I don't like this change. As of seen in France Gallery, it's still lousy and waste of time, and I wish to have old version back already. --FredCat 00:19, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Makes it a lot harder to upload now since they removed the upload image button and the other thing.BobaFett2 (talk)
That's making me want old version more. --FredCat 13:27, May 22, 2011 (UTC)

RE: Card Rulings:Brain Crusher

The only Rulings it has are some Judge List Rulings with the deleted yu-judges site as source. Unless the correct UDE's (archive) page is placed as source to those Rulings, they shouldn't exist there.

Right now I'm doing an update to all TCG Official Rulings. If after that I ever get around to updating all the UDE's Rulings too I will add also the Judge List Rulings with their original (archive) UDE's page as source (including Brain Crusher's Rulings).

Categorizing set info pages by set type?

Is Category:OCG Booster Pack Set Card Lists et al. something we really want to do? I don't see the point to it myself and have been removing these categories as I come across them, but figured I should get your input before going on any sort of out-and-out removal campaign. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:17, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

It's not a project I'm particularly interested in. I think the amount of effort in adding those categories to all the set info pages outweighs their usefulness. -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:12, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Cool. So we're sticking with categorizing them by region/language and edition, then? ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:54, May 22, 2011 (UTC)
I would say so. -- Deltaneos (talk) 12:40, May 22, 2011 (UTC)
Should we worry about adding edition categories to non-Limited Edition Japanese set info pages? I've never seen anything but Unlimited Edition, but that also means it'd be trivial to add them. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 23:11, May 22, 2011 (UTC)
Don't forget that there is also the Duel Terminal Edition, even in Japanese. Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 23:33, May 22, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I actually thought of that just after posting my above comment. ;) Do we note DT sets in the same way we note the other editions currently (and if not, should we)? ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:35, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
Well, for the images, we don't add -UE to Japanese cards but we do add -DT. We might just categorize DT but that's it. I really think we don't need to categorize UE because if it's not DT, that means it's UE. Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 10:18, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
While that is true, I plan on eventually developing a {{Navigation}} analog for set info pages, and one of the things it'll do is handle categorizing these pages (just as {{Navigation}} currently does for card info pages). Auto-categorizing Japanese UE pages would only be maybe 2-3 extra lines of code in the template. And despite how it looks, I am not necessarily lobbying for this categorization; merely pointing out that it would be trivial to do so if we want to try it out for whatever reason. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:46, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
Also, as I mentioned above, Japanese sets can also be LE, not just UE or DT. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:47, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
Would it have any impact on how the japanese Unlimited cards images are named? Will we have to rename everything to include -UE? By the way, do you have an example of Limited Edition japanese cards, I can't think of one... Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 16:56, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
Nope, no change there (though there's a (IMO) strong argument for consistency in requiring Japanese cards to be named with -UE). I can't think of any offhand either, and looking around some, can't find any, though I'm sure I've seen them before... Maybe Delt can fill us in (or correct me, if I've been misremembering)? ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 17:33, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
TCG only as far as I know. You would expect Limited Edition Pack cards to at least be Limited Edition if it existed in the OCG. -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:40, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
That's actually what I thought but I wasn't sure at all... In that case, do we really have to categoriez -UE images? Would it be possible to categorize every DT cards manually (since there's not too much of it compared to UE) and then, with a bot or something, categorize every other japanese (which will be of course UE), so both problems would be solved... But I don't know if it's technically possible? Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 14:08, May 24, 2011 (UTC)

yugioh episode 1

in yugioh episode 1, I changed it to blood-curdling because every other website has blood-curdling in the title instead of terrifying — This unsigned comment was made by Tommy2215 (talkcontribs) 17:05, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

Talk:Number 17: Leviath Dragon

I responded back.--Wasn't (talkcontribs) 20:49, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

1 thing you said "Read above for arguments in favour of each". They seam to be fighting rather than solving problems. User:Burnpsy saying +/- Shriek or monjoyme not official site.... Fredcat saying it is; He's very mad. "Wilimut" wants them to relax and saying basically what I wanted to say (similar) "Please never forget that we're all here because we share the same passion. We shouldn't get mad at each other. Try to relax and talk to each other with respect" This also happened in "Shooting Quasar Dragon"'s and "T.G. Halberd Cannon" case--Wasn't (talkcontribs) 21:06, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
I would like to add that even if english isn't Fred's first language, he could make some efforts on how to deal and talk when he is involved in an argue with someone. English isn't my first language but I know that you can't say to someone "you're a foolish idiot" or whatever stuff he says... He's a fantastic contributor who does an excellent work but he really has to improve that behavior. Wilimut TalkMail Paris, 21:42, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
I agree. A lot of the conversation isn't very constructive. The arguments in favor of each name I was referring to were the context in which each name makes sense (Leviath: it's a leviathan and the English version uses the name. Revise: another "revision" to how the game is played, Shark's personality is "revised" when the card possesses him.) -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:04, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
I only said that because we all used Shriek/Manjyome site as back-up for all information and translation. And since Wasn't and Wilimut did hit the score about my personality alone. Back then, I didn't realize that the sites that we used were unofficial and I only tried to defend the requirement of translation when it came to that user who think Shriek did something bad. Also the reason of try to change the article is only to respond in the Talk Page first, like we all had to do with Ruling Article. We all have to discuss of what to change before literally change the article itself. You all, Admins, are powerful enough to change is fine with me, but Burnpsy and some common user, indeed, included myself, cannot do the change, except to undo the wrong. --FredCat 22:35, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Fredcat: I don't know "Wilimut", I wasn't referring to your personality. Even I use Shriek/Manjyome for... or whatever site I find. Try not to go too off-topic.

Burnpsy: (???) This is my 1st time meeting him; I have noting to say though I feel sorry for him/her.

  • The whole issue was "su". This is the 2nd Water-Dragon that has a similar name. 1st one is "Levia-Dragon - Daedalus". TCG suggested "Leviath" because it's similar to (above); OCG Suggested "Revise" because of how it sounds or... after... Konomi agreed with TCG/Eng; "Deltaneos" told me. That's Y I suggested "Revise" for OCG/Jap and "Leviath" for TCG/Eng since they're very close. guys see: "Talk:Number 17: Leviath Dragon"--Wasn't (talkcontribs) 00:04, May 22, 2011 (UTC)
Honestly, I am male, which was obviously in my Profile page. And I am not going off-topic, I was talking about Revise Dragon's name that was being defend by myself, since that name was coming from Shriek/Manjyone site. --FredCat 00:07, May 22, 2011 (UTC)
Fredcat: sorry about that. about the "male" part I was talking to "Burnpsy"

"Deltaneos": From the context of these name; I favor both since they're very close.--Wasn't (talkcontribs) 00:14, May 22, 2011 (UTC)

I found two cards that have "su"(ス) in its name: "Clear Vice Dragon", "Neos"◄(ネオ(ス)), "Elemental Hero Plasma Vice"◄(マン= man), "Vice Berserker"◄(バイ(ス)), and "Vice Dragon". "su" is "s" not "th".--Wasn't (talkcontribs) 02:06, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

Japanese does not have as many syllables as English and other languages. If a foreign word is written in Japanese, they have to make-do with the syllables they have. They don't have any syllables with a "th" sound, so they'll sometimes use "ス" instead when the word ends in "th".
"ス" can be used for words ending in "s", "su" or "th" sounds, hence the original confusion. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:00, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
I get it, but how come "Neos" is pronounced with "s" and not "th"?.--Wasn't (talkcontribs) 16:49, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
"ス" can be used for both "th" and "s" sounds when used at the end of words. For example "フェイス" (feisu) can mean "faith" or "face". You can usually tell by the context which one it means. It's a bit like how the English words "wind" (movement of air) and "wind" (moving something around something else) have different pronunciations, but the same spelling. -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:53, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
That's multiple meaning. You mean diff. usage, diff. sound..--Wasn't (talkcontribs) 18:44, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
Well kind of. They have different sounds in English, but not necessarily in Japanese. When speaking English you'd normally pronounce "faith" and "face" differently. When speaking Japanese you'd normally pronounce them both words as "feis" and spell them both "フェイス". I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but think of saying English words while speaking Japanese as speaking English with a lisp. -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:07, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

Please Lock Leviath Dragon's Page

Unregistered members seem to be either vandalizing it, or changing Leviath to Revise, completely ignoring the really long chat on the talk page. Burnpsy (talkcontribs) 23:23, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you.

Thanks for fixing it. As soon as I looked at it in the revision page it seemed out of place. Moving on, what are your thoughts on Yugioh zexal? To me it hardly compares to yugioh 5ds.Shardsilver (talkcontribs) 21:40, May 24, 2011 (UTC)

My first impression was that it looked childish. I've only seen the first episode and read about the first chapter, so I don't think I've seen enough to develop a solid opinion. -- Deltaneos (talk) 23:52, May 24, 2011 (UTC)
That's exact same what I had witnessed, except that I only saw a sneak peek and that's enough. I found ZeXal a waste of show. --FredCat 23:57, May 24, 2011 (UTC)

Amazoness Trainer/Trainee

I see no reason why Amazoness Trainer is listed as "Amazoness Trainer (anime)", since there is no other Amazoness Trainer, just an Amazoness Trainee. However, "Amazoness Trainer" redirects to "Amazoness Trainee", so I can't change the name. How do you remove redirects from pages? Golden Key (talkcontribs) 23:04, May 24, 2011 (UTC)

By add &redirect=no at the end of that link, that's how I manage to get when I created link for passcode to card's name. --FredCat 23:13, May 24, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, Deltaneos. Golden Key (talkcontribs) 00:00, May 25, 2011 (UTC)

Deletion

Is there any set amount of time a discussion should take place before an article can be deleted? There seems to be a clear consensus to delete "-End Dragons" on the talk page, though it's only existed for less than a week. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 20:16, May 25, 2011 (UTC)

There is no set time. If something doesn't stand a chance of being kept, it can be deleted whenever this is clear. If a few days might sway the general opinion it might be worth leaving the decision until later. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:48, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
I honestly find that article worthless space for this site. Only with 4 monsters (Cyber End Dragon, Light-End Dragon, Dark-End Dragon, and Thunder-End Dragon) exist in the universe of Yu-Gi-Oh!, and they all are unrelated, except for middle two (Light/Dark) are only related to Light and Darkness Dragon. I would like to get rid of it sooner. --FredCat 23:01, May 25, 2011 (UTC)

Forum:Anime and manga summary guidelines?

Would you please give me your opinions on the few questions I asked at the bottom of that page? Just respond here instead of unarchiving it. I'd like to actually go ahead and write up a policy page for this, as it seems we both agree on most of it, and no one else seems to care. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:48, May 26, 2011 (UTC)

I've been thinking a lot lately of going back on an old decision. Each Duel used to have their own article. Then it was decided to merge them with the episodes. The Duels are possibly the most significant events in the series, but don't get their own individual in-universe articles. Many other events, objects etc. of lesser importance get their own detailed articles, rather than leave the reader look up the relevant episodes. Their own articles would allow for more formats without having to worry about how it affects episode pages.
I do like the footnotes, but yeah, something like "This Duel uses Duelist Kingdom rules" with a link to a page explaining those rules is probably better. -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:55, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, I'm surprised, but I like the idea of each Duel having its own article. I would assume we would just put a "main article" link in each featured duel section? I always did find it odd that things like Aporia's father get articles when more significant things do not. Guess we should start another forum discussion, huh? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:48, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
Would the featured Duels sections still be needed on episode pages? Are there other major topics you think are lacking articles? Yeah, I suppose we should start a forum. Do you want to do it or would you rather I did? -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:20, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
I think keeping the Featured Duel section with a main article link is the best option, since Featured Duels are such a mainstay in the articles. That section being absent would be odd. Actually, as long as there's a link in the article somewhere to the Duel article, I suppose it doesn't matter. I think we're lacking a lot of "out-of-universe" articles. I was very pleased when you started making staff and voice actor articles. There are some other topics that I've thought "we need an article for that" in the past, though I can't currently remember what they were (I'll let you know when I do) Go ahead and start the forum. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:06, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
'Started an example/demonstration page: Akiza Izinski VS Commander Koda. I'll try start the forum later. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:12, May 27, 2011 (UTC)
Wow, it was nominated for deletion seven minutes after it was created. As for other more major topics without article, there are plenty of things for DM and GX that we really need to create, mostly locations and vehicles. I've been contemplating making (may be a good idea for one of us to make a list so we don't miss anything. Oh, one other major thing. We need an article for darkness of the heart, which is all over the place in both GX and 5D's. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:56, May 27, 2011 (UTC)
Forum:Duel articles.
I take it darkness of the heart is when characters become corrupted. It seems to apply to Yu-Gi-Oh! (Duel Monsters) too. See the episode 176 title for example. "Darkness of the Heart" is also a composition from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters anime. It's on Sound Duel 3. -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:41, May 27, 2011 (UTC)
Interesting. I've never seen DM subbed, so I didn't know that. But yeah, Darkness of the Heart is used all over the place in seasons 3 and 4 of GX, and know I've heard it used in 5D's as well. It's not quite as simple as a character getting corrupted, but that's certainly the gist of it. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:15, May 28, 2011 (UTC)

That user just insulted me with new nickname, can you please deal with him? It's all because he made a card base on Dizzy Tiger and tried to post up it in the place, which I rejected. I later warned him about not do that again, and that's a result. --FredCat 00:16, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

yes i found the ruling incorrect, my deck strategy revolves around dark master zorc, and i've had his effect approved by a card shop owner who is a judge and also runs tournaments and recently hosted the UK regional qualifiers. Zorc effect is much like Snipe Hunter effect, it doesnt state once per turn, as well as that you run the risk of destroying your own card if the dice lands on six, that is why i removed the card ruling, as its incorrect but falzer keeps reposting it, aside from that i didnt mean to sound so aggressive when i posted my message on his profile, i'm just having a really bad day Muzzy86 (talkcontribs) 13:49, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
