Rollback

Hey Delt, this might sound sudden for me to ask, but do you think I'd be trustworthy of having the Rollback feature (I'm aware any admin can give it out to users they trust)? Shardsilver (talk • contribs) 22:31, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

That's true on Wikipedia, but not here on Wikia; we'd have to request that admins be given the ability to grant (and revoke) the rollback usergroup here. I see. What do you think Delt? I'd like it so I can revert vandalism even quicker (It would also be useful for me since I revert vandalism often). What frusterates me is when A vandal is changing the page with more vandalism every time you try to restore the page to the last good version, you can't because they changed it again and you wasted your time with the undo and publish pages, and then have to do it all over again. With the Rollback I could bypass this with one click. I also know that Rollback should only be used for reverting vandalism. Any other use would be abusing the tool, and thus it would be revoked. There are times when you might misclick with it, in which case you just revert yourself, it also can be used to revert an edit you made a mistake on. The only times I would use it would be ether vandalism or someone inserting false information. Any other I would just Revert/give a reason/go to their talk page like normal). You'll probably have enough support to become an admin, as you seem to need them for images, moving and deleting as well iirc. Also, if the rollback links are easily misclicked, you can move them or hide them from certain pages through css.

I think it would be fine to give it to you too Golden Key. I'm sure that there are plenty of users deserving of rollback. I'd rather not have my talk page become the place to request it. I've made a request to have the mover usergroup (movefile, noratelimit, suppressredirect) set up here. If we get that, it might be worth setting up request pages for both rights.

Adminship has been on my mind for the reasons you listed, Falzar, but I had seen on the forum that something was in the works for granting those other tools, so I haven't nominated myself. I'm also sorry for taking up space on your talk page. I just wanted to know if I could be given the Rollback feature by you is all (it's up to you). I have an idea on how we could set up Rollback and Chatmod Requests if you're interested (mind you this took a while to type up, It's below)

(Rollback, available on Tuesdays, and Chatmod Requests on Fridays. Aside from those two days, nobody can add requests. I say this because you're the only one right now that I know of, that can grant those rights Deltaneos. How they work is below)

Rollback:

• Does this user Revert vandalism politely?

• Does this user keep his cool when dealing with many vandals at once?

• Does he/she have an edit history that shows he can be trusted with it?

Questions for the candidate (since this is not like adminship, I guessed a little less, after all this is just a tool to deal with vandalism quicker)

• When is the right time to use Rollback, and when should it not be used (I pretty much answered that)

• Suppose a user asks that you assist them in Dealing with a stubborn user. Would you use the Rollback in a situation like that (Me: only if the person is vandalizing, or the reason is obvious, like inserting false information. Otherwise I would find other means, like responding on their talk page)

• When can Rollback be revoked (Me: if used to reverse good faith edits, or an edit that you merely don't agree with. Also using it in such situations some could see your action as rude and get offended, especially when the other user believes their edit is correct).

• Support (judging from yours and Golden Keys comment, you were okay with it)

• Neutral

• Oppose

All admins are capable of giving out chatmod rights.

I don't it's really necessary to restrict the days someone can make a request. It'll still be the same number of people who make requests.

For rollback and the proposed mover group, I was thinking something less complex than the admin requests, like Wikipedia's requests for rollback. For rollback it's just a case of checking does the user make much reverts, have they been explaining reverts when necessary and if they've done anything else controversial. For movers, it's also a case of checking if they have a need for the extra permissions and have proved that they know how to use it. I think most admins can be trusted with making those judgements.

Chatmod is complicated. The only thing you can do with it is (un)ban people from chat. I think people who cause trouble in chat usually aren't deliberately trying to cause trouble or are doing it because they have some other problem that should be looked at first. In my opinion, it's very hard to tell who'd be a good chatmod especially since unlike edits, there's no record of what people say. I don't think we're ready for formal chatmod requests just yet, but that's really just my opinion. I'll admit my way isn't perfect. We don't have very many chatmods and with banning criteria not to strict, things can get a bit out of control. From a policy standpoint, I don't think this would be an either-or situation, and indeed, if someone showed they could be trusted with the Mover privileges, that'd be a strong bit of support for them being made an admin. Article that going to NOT delete

Divine Dragons; really need to stay or go? I still think it should be delete because it has no support at all - Like Elemental HERO that have full support from Spell/Trap Cards and Naturia supporting each other. Chatmods

Status on the discussion we had in Special:Chat about adding new chatmods:

• Scarecrowbill had a lot of users in favour of him. There was one user who was totally against it, one user who had multiple concerns and couple of users with minor concerns. While this wasn't a bad result overall, I won't be giving chatmod rights to him this time.
• Lord Grammaticus had a lot of users supporting him too. Two users had some concern. I'm glad the two of you gave feedback and I respect your thoughts. But we need more chatmods, he came close to being unanimously agreed upon and the concerns didn't seem to be too major, so I will be giving him chatmod rights.
• Princess of Time also had lots of support. One user was against making her a chatmod because she's only been here about a month. Two other users were also against her. I'm not sure of their exact reasons. I'd still like to make her a chatmod, but I think we need to discuss it a bit further.

I know you're not happy with how the moderators, including me, have been handling things, but please believe me when I say I don't want you banned. There are times when you get along with most people and it's really nice having you around. Lately you've been getting involved in a lot of arguments. World of Darkness

In episode 41 of GX, Titan makes reference to the World of Darkness (which the dub naturally replaces with Shadow Realm). It's where he ends up after Dueling Judai. While there, Kagemaru saves him and gives the mask that he uses later. I didn't realize this next part until today, but he pronounces it as Yami no Sekai. The World of Darkness from season 4 is pronounced Dakunesu no Sekai, which indicates that there are two separate Worlds of Darkness in GX. Since Titan having been to the season 4 WoD makes no sense given what else happens in that season, this clears up something that's been bothering me for about a year. So naturally, my question is this. How do we disambiguate these with page titles? I'm planning on creating an article for the Yami version. Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 00:20, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

Was the World of Darkness that Titan mentioned ever mentioned in the Japanese version of the original series? It could be that Shadow Realm is the 4Kids name for the Yami no Sekai. In which case, it would be like Heart of the Cards; something with a minor role in the original that gets propagated to all corners of the dub. Although the manga doesn't seem to mention it, I think the Japanese anime might have said that Yugi's Duels with Pegasus took place in the World of Darkness and Grandpa's soul was trapped there during Duelist Kingdom. Cheesedude: Episode 16 just before Kaiba lands on the island, I think. Although if that's the only instance, Yugi might have just been metaphorically speaking.

FredCat: I'm not seeing how that's a mistake on Titan's behalf. In the English version, Titan calls it the Shadow Realm. In the Japanese version, he calls it the Yami no Sekai (World of Darkness). Managed to get some clarification from someone who speaks Japanese. It seems your hunch was right.

However, in thinking about this issue more I realized how screwy it is. The Abandoned Dorm was infected with darkness due to Fujiwara's ritual to Summon Darkness (the one associated with Dakunesu no Sekai). Despite this, Titan is pulled into the OTHER World of Darkness (Yami no Sekai) while in the abandoned dorm. Also, Fubuki was pulled into the Gravekeeper's section of Duel Monsters Spirit World - and one of the other worlds there is Dark World. Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 20:36, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

You were banned by TwoTailedFox and I'm sure he'll unban you after a few days. The ban was because of the racist and sectarian remarks you were making. This is a problem people have brought up about you in the past. Can you refrain from doing it when you're unbanned? Chatmods are chosen based on how users behave not on how they say they will behave if they become one. So you'll need to go ahead and spread your fairy dust first if you want to be considered.

Okay, forgive me if this gets confusing. I was wondering if there could be a column in lists (like the one shown on this page: Rank_5_Monster_Cards) that is called "Materials" or something similar which would list the materials required in order to Fusion/Synchro/Xyz Summon the Fusion/Synchro/Xyz monsters. For example, that same page, (Rank_5_Monster_Cards), would have "2 Level 5 monsters" under Materials in the same row as "Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon". Is there a way to place Non-specific materials into that list? Such as "Alien Ammonite" + One or more "Alien" monsters. Wouldn't that just show "Alien Ammonite"? Well the X Material properties are page type. So anything entered should be a page and will be linked to. That's not a problem when the material is only specific cards as each card has an article. Things "Level 4 Dinosaur-Type monster" however don't have articles. We could change the property to something other than page, but then each card won't automatically won't be linked. Okay, I will submit something to that forum but I was hoping that you may be able to explain something to me. I am really good at logical puzzles, however I am absolutely horrible at computer tech. Am I wrong in believing that the Properties of a card are determined by the queries based on a message left on that card's main page? For example, Attack 2300 has a message like "?Att=2300". Or something like that. If I am correct with this, why can we not design a new Flag that is "Material" and have a Fusion monster have the flag just like a Synchro monster or an Xyz monster. For example, If "Thousand Dragon" is a result in a query that is asking for "Material", have the answer reply "Baby Dragon + Time Wizard". Is it instead that the answer would have to be "Baby Dragon + Time Wizard"? Regardless of this, I was actually aiming for more of a 'just show what the cost is' instead of a 'link to the materials' pages'. This idea would be for easy searching through lists. I originally thought of this idea when I was looking for some Rank 4 monsters to put into my Deck. I have to open up each of those monsters and see what the materials are. In my Machine Deck or trap Monster Deck, I can Special Summon multiple Level 4 monsters in a single turn but I cannot Summon multiple Warrior monsters for instance. I was just trying to find a way to spell everything out without having to open each page separately. I am going to go place a message on that Forum that you mentioned as well. If Volcasaurus activates it's effect to destroy a card such as Wind-Up Zemanines and Zemanines detaches an xyz material to prevent it from being destroyed, does your opponent still take damage equal to it's original atk? Was looking at w:c:ygo which doesn't appear to be in use since 2010 and only has a small amount of blank articles about generic monster names.

Being part of the VSTF, I am wondering if you might be able to make a move to adopt it and redirect the URL to this wiki via merger? Being VSTF doesn't give any extra benefits in terms of adopting wikis. If I could adopt it, I'd be able to get the Main Page to redirect here. Just so you know, through the use of the Special:Import function, and editing the import sheet using Notepad or something, it is entirely possible to create a page on w:c:ygo for every single page on this wikia, that redirects it straight to the page on here. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find subs for most DM episodes. Thought I had a source at Neo Ark Cradle, but Megaupload being taken down has rendered most of their anime downloads nonexistent for now.

I don't know what subs you usually use (or if you use subs to begin with) but if you have a source, would you care to share it? If you don't feel comfortable doing so here, perhaps email it?

There are copyright problems with taking any images we can find from other websites. Freely licensed images like File:Bernard Ackah boxing.jpg, which is licensed under the Creative Commons, can be used. "Edit" is the next item in the dropdown list. They used to be the other way around. I'm sure it's possible to swap them back using JavaScript or use JavaScript to add another edit button. Anime/manga card list?

How does the main page obtain the numbers for the amount of anime only and manga only cards? And can that be used to create a list of them? I'm trying to go through every anime and manga only card and change "lore" to "animelore" or "mangalore" and do some other genfixes (card search cats, appearances templates, etc). That would be {{#ask: [[Class 1::AniEx]] |format=count}} for anime cards, and {{#ask: [[Class 1::ManEx]] |format=count}} for manga cards.
