Battle of the States

Do you know if the Battle of the States is just another name for the World Championship Qualifier: Regional Championship? It gets mentioned a few times in amigo-spiele.de's coverage for the 2012 German National Championship?

No, they aren't the same. For example in Austria the winner of the National Championship is, as you might know, Dennis Mailänder[1] while Ying Qu Jun is the Battle of the States 2012 winner[2], but I often mix them up, too, because there are many Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments here.

Okay, thanks. I understand that, but I meant the WCQ: Regional Championship, rather than the WCQ: National Championship. For example on the schedule here for the German National Championship, it lists "WCQ: Regional Championship" as a separate event than the main (National Championship) event. Oh sorry, I thought you meant the National one. Well, I'm not 100% sure about that, but I've always thought they're different tournaments. Battle of the States is the final tournament stage of the State Open Championships where participants from all 16 states are representing their state, while the Regional Championship is qualifier for the European Championship. I've also heard that the Battle of the States was on the second day of the 2012 German National Championship while the Regionals took place between January 1 and March 25 so I was pretty confused when I saw your schedule. It is possible that they mixed both names up or what you said, the WCQ: Regional Championship is an other name for BotS. This could also be true, because the 2012 German National Championship only included two side events (the other being the Team Cup) and the Regional Championship I'm talking about might be just a non-related event. They seem to be different tournaments alright. I'd say the reason there's no mention of the Battle of the States on the National Championship schedule is because BotS seems to be an unofficial tournament. i.e. Konami aren't involved (at least as far as I can see). Anyhow, I've started an article for State Open Championship and will probably get to work on making articles for the individual tournaments. Forum

You're right for most of the time - but it's not directly myself: it's my instinct, as if you took a hard closely looks, that went riot once MediaWiki put in bad stuffs (which they never pulled out since) in this site. It's like a cat that predicted the bad, horrible storm's arrive.

I really like the first part of your message, I can't remember someone telling me that on the Internet before ;-D

About that MediaWikia stuff: Cat instinct sounds really cool but you should try to get along with the newer up-/downgrades for the moment. In my opinion this wikia has always been the best Yu-Gi-Oh! website and I really hope those updates don't do the same thing to this wikia like on the other cool Yu-Gi-Oh!wiki I knew. One year ago they also did some updates to improve their wiki but it ended with an huge server-crash. Most of the pages and files are deleted now. Go here if you want to visit it, it's a german wiki. So as long as they don't delete everything let's just try to make the best of it, okay?

Oh, and about that other Forum: it wasn't the fact that he didn't understand the card ruling which annoyed me but the fact how that user talked about your English skills. He can't expect everyone that wants to take part in a discussion on the Forum to speak perfect Oxford English. My english is also not that good but you can't learn a language by just reading posts from other people, just like you'll never become a good footballer by watching football on TV. Indeed... that site was the reason why I am acting like that: if I were an Admin/Founder, I just rejected it and order them to fixing themselves off this site. My instinct had never failing me for many years, wrong or not.

Yeah, but even if you were an Admin, I don't think you'll get the magical power to reject those stuff. If the MediaWikia staff wants to upgrade this wikia the systops can't just say no unless they have a really good reason (not that I don't trust your cat instinct but I'm sure they won't take cat instinct as a good reason). But even if the Admins here don't like those updates they're still doing their best to fix everything and try to make the best of it. We should trust them, I'm sure they'll make the right decisions.

By the way there was something else I wanted to tell you. Remember that Bonds Beyond Time issue some months ago? Well, they actually planed to do a german dub in spring 2011 but after 4kids lost the international rights on Yu-Gi-Oh! they weren't allowed to dub that movie. Image policy update

Hey Dunkles, since Deltaneos just told me that the German wiki uses some of our images directly, I thought it would be a good idea to inform you of this forum discussion, where we're discussing what will hopefully be the last significant change to our image policy, both so you would be aware of the impending change and so that you could offer any input you might have, especially from the perspective of a different project which might have needs we're not aware of here.

I'd also like to apologize (belatedly ;P ) for instigating previous changes to our image policy with no consideration for the German wiki, since I wasn't aware of its reuse of our images prior to about 10 minutes ago; if I had been, I would've worked much harder to get the image policy much closer to "perfect" on the first change, instead of spreading it out (which would've benefitted us as well, since it would've meant we wouldn't have had to rename files multiple times). In http://www.yugioh-card.com/de/products , when it gives release dates, do you know if it is referring to the date the set is released in the language, German, or the date the set is released in Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Luxembourg in either of the languages, English or German? Does your "Releasedate in Germany" column refer to the English release date, the German release date, whichever came first or were the two languages released together?
