Summary
The Duel is revealed to have taken place in a virtual reality on board the KaibaCorp space station. One of Kaiba's scientists hands him a bottle of water and comments on how well the Duel Links Solid Vision system is performing, but though Kaiba agrees with their assessment of their technology, he is not happy. He deems the Duel imperfect, because despite the accuracy and fine-tuning of his recreation of Atem, it was not the real thing. In frustration, he crushes the bottle in his hand and tosses it aside, vowing that he will find Atem and that he cannot hide forever. Mokuba contacts the space station, informed Kaiba that they have found it - and the pieces of the Millennium Puzzle can be seen in the shaft at the excavation.

At the mall, Yugi, Téa, Tristan and Bakura are sitting at Devlin's cafe, being served by Duke Devlin. Yugi reads news of Scud and his gang's disappearance, and he, Téa and Duke note that it is only one of many cases of people mysteriously disappearing recently. Bakura mentions that the person responsible could be watching them, but Téa accredits that paranoia to Bakura's fanclub, who are spying on him from behind a pillar, much to Bakura's exasperation. Nearby, an attendant wearing a dog costume hands out a balloon to a little girl. Tristan repairs Joey's Duel Disk at the table, which Duke remarks is brave of him, as he could get blamed for breaking it.
