"Elemental HERO" (Japanese: E・HERO Erementaru Hīrō) is a "HERO" sub-archetype of mostly monstersWarrior monsters used by both Jaden Yuki and Aster Phoenix (for a period of time until the latter changed to the "Destiny HEROes" archetype) in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime. The former also used this archetype, along with his mentor Koyo Hibiki, in the manga. All members of this subYu-Gi-archetype are WarriorOh! GX monsters, except for the Plant "Elemental HERO Knospe" and "Elemental HERO Poison Rose"; the Pyro "Elemental HERO Heat", "Elemental HERO Inferno" and "Elemental HERO Lady Heat"; and the Thunder "Elemental HERO Voltic" manga. They were designed by Kazuki Takahashi, and are themed after based on comic-book superheroes from in the anime and are based off on natural elements in the manga. "Elemental HERO" Decks focus heavily on Fusion Summoning. Most of these fall into two primary "Elemental HERO" monsters categories that can be fused with one another. : Normal Monsters Monsters from the TV series anime (Named Materials monsters that are specifically required as materials for Fusion SummoningSummons) and the manga counterparts that are retrained versions with also have effects (while the Fusion Materials are Monsters require genericFusion Materials). See 'Grouping' section for more information. ==GroupingGroups=="Avian", "Burstinatrix", "Clayman" , and "Bubbleman" are often grouped together because there based on the four elements (which are reflected in their Attributes: WIND, FIRE, EARTH, and WATER, respectively). There is at least one Fusion Monster for each pair of them (except "Avian" and "Clayman"), as well as "Elemental HERO Electrum" using , which is a Fusion of all 4 as Fusion Materials. "Bladedge", "Wildheart", and "Necroshade" are often grouped together because there is at least one Fusion Monster for each pair of them (except "Bladedge" and "Necroshade"). "Sparkman" was introduced very early on and is usually on depicted in the artwork of cards like "Fifth Hope" and "HERO's Bond". "Sparkman" has the most fusions Fusion Monsters of any "Elemental HERO" monster, other than "Neos", with a grand total of 6 ("Thunder Giant", "Tempest", "Shining Flare Wingman", "Shining Phoenix Enforcer", "Plasma Vice", and "Darkbright")."Elemental HERO Neo Bubbleman" and "Clay Guardian" can be Special Summoned by the Forbidden card "Metamorphosis"."Elemental HERO Neos" is has instead seen as having his own support often grouped , along with the "Neo-Spacian" monsters. Contact Fusion is the main mechanic of "Neos". However, it also has Fusion Monsters with other series of cards such as the "Ultimate Crystal God" monsters ("Rainbow Neos"), the "Yubel" monsters ("Elemental HERO Neos Kluger"), "Armed Dragon" monsters ("Armed Neos") and the "Elemental HERO" Fusion Monsters("Elemental HERO Shining Neos Wingman"). The manga "Elemental HERO" monsters (unoffically called "Omni Heroes") are also grouped together since they don't do not have fusions Fusion Monsters with the anime "Elemental HERO" monsters. These They include "Ocean", "Woodsman", "Heat", and "Lady Heat". Lastly, "Stratos", "Shadow Mist" and , "Blazeman", "Solid Soldier", "Liquid Soldier" are considered a group of their own due to their superiority over othersbetter effect and ATK
Design
The "Elemental HEROes' designs HERO" monsters are based after the western comics' heroes. In the Japanese version, their nomenclature naming scheme is "Elemental HERO (term [Term related to its element) "] -man" (for the masculine heroesmale monsters, with the exceptions of "Prisma" and every "Neos"monster). The only feminine heroes female "Elemetal HERO" monsters are "Burstinatrix", "Lady Heat", "Poison Rose" , and "Shadow Mist" (the first two having have "Lady" instead of "Man" in their Japanese name). Some of the names are were changed in the English versionTCG. As the name says, the "Elemental HEROesHERO" monsters each represent an element of nature. In western culture, the main elements are fire, water, air, earth, light and darkness, but in eastern culture, more elements are considered, such as lightning, wood, metal , and ice, though ice is many times not considered since it's part is another form of "water". The manga doesn't follow does not have the same theme as the anime, but the heroes monsters are still based around those same elements.

Playing style
The "Elemental HERO" decks mainly focus on swarming the field with archetype has many Main Deck monsters and Extra Deck Fusion Monsters, using cards like each with their own varied effects. Historically, the archetype can be built to focus on their Main Deck monsters or their Fusion Monsters; currently in 2022, the Main Deck "PolymerizationElemental HERO" monsters are too weak in contrast to the general power level of the game, and later "Elemental HERO"support leaned into their Miracle FusionSummon"ing playstyle, meaning that the Extra Deck playstyle is preferred for this archetype. For The pure "Elemental HERO" playstyle aims to Fusion Summon their Extra Deck Fusion Monsters with specified names, "boss monsters by searching out their required King of the SwampFusion Material" s and other Fusion Fusion Substitute MonsterSpell Cards are very usefulas quickly as possible. They also have access to Rank 4 Xyz Monsters due to This can be done through a combination of specific "Elemental HERO" support cards like (e.g. "Elemental HERO BubblemanE - Emergency Call" and ), generic "A Hero LivesHERO"support cards (e.g. "Instant FusionVision HERO Vyon" can also be used to summon ), and non-archetypal Warrior/Fusion support cards (e.g. "Elder Entity NordenIsolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights and a level 4 WATER monster").The "Elemental HERO" Fusion Monsters typically have battle-focused effects with little defensive capabilities. Most "Elemental HERO" Fusion Monsters also require Fusion Materials with specific names, then Xyz Summoning "but some of them have generic Bahamut Sharkmaterial" s and using it's effect are much easier to summon . The 6 most notable ones are "Toadally AwesomeElemental HERO Great Tornado". Lastly, they can be used as a bridge to the "Nova Masteres". As with the release of the , "Omni HEROsThe Shining" (Attribute-specifc Fusion Monsters), as well as the 2 Extra Deck "Escuridaos (", "Absolute Zero ", and "Gaia"), all which require 1 "Elemental HEROsHERO" can be fused together monster and a monster with each othera specific Attribute as their materials. Among these 6, as well as other "HEROsEscuridao". The and "Omni HEROsAbsolute Zero" basically allow are the most commonly used, because "Escuridao's" DARK Attribute is ubiquitous, and "Absolute Zero" has a very strong effect, and also only requires a "HERO" monster rather than an "Elemental HEROsHERO" monster as its material, making it even easier to exist Summon in any deck focused on an archetype a general "HERO" Deck.An "Elemental HERO" Deck can consider running "King of monsters with the same Attribute, Swamp" and each Attribute allows these other Fusion Substitute Monsters to substitute for "Elemental HEROsHERO" Fusion Monsters with specified materials.===Other "HERO" access to Attribute-specific support cards, such as ===Within the entire "SalvageHERO". Perhaps meta-archetype, the best part of an "Elemental HERO" deck archetypal playstyle is strongly supported by the search/recovery power. Cards like "SalvageVision HERO", combo"Shadow MistFaris", "BlazemanIncrease", "Vyon", Since "Vyon" can search out "Polymerization"and can Fusion Recoverysend", Elemental HERO Shadow Mist"to the GY to search out more needed "Elemental HERO " monsters. The Shining"Vision HERO" Fusion Monster"s, "Adoration" and "Trinity can be used ", are also good options for an "Elemental HERO" Deck to run due to go into many plusestheir generic materialsThe "Xtra HERO" Link Monsters provide many helpful benefits to the "Elemental HEROesHERO" somewhat lack protection, as they are mostly offensiveplaystyle. "Infernal Devicer" is useful herecan directly search out up to 2 listed Fusion Materials on a "HERO" Fusion Monster, and can cause an easy OTK by comboeing making it most strongly support the "Elemental HERO" playstyle of Fusion Summoning monsters with specific materials. "Wonder Driver"can recover Fusion Spell Cards, making it useful for longer combos or grind games.===How "Elemental HERO" supports other "HERO" sub-archetypes===There is On the other side, the "Elemental HERO" archetype (specifically, a great few individual members) are vital combo using pieces to the overall "Mask ChangeHERO, " meta-archetype playstyle. The most important "Elemental HERO" monster with regards to the entire "HERO" archetype is "Elemental HERO Absolute ZeroStratos", a non-once-per-turn searcher for all "HERO" monsters and the ideal target for "Masked HERO AcidA Hero Lives". First fuse any "Elemental HEROShadow Mist monster and " is a Water Attribute monster with once-per-turn searcher for all "HERO" monsters when Polymerizationsent, or any card that can fuse monsters, to get the GY (usually by "Elemental Vision HERO Absolute ZeroVyon. Use "), but it is also a searcher for "Mask Change to send " Spell Cards, which enables the Elemental HERO Absolute ZeroSpecial Summon back to of the Graveyard and summon powerful "Masked HERO Acid, remember that when " monsters (most notably "Dark Law is removed from the field, it destroys all of your opponent's monsters, " and "Acid's effect says that when it is summoned ", usually Summoned by using "Absolute Zero" to perform a board wipe); the field, all variety of your opponent'Attributes Spells/Traps are destroyedthe "Elemental HERO" monsters have makes them ideal for summoning "Masked HERO" monsters, effectively clearing your opponent's fieldmaking "Masked HERO" monsters good options even in a pure "Elemental HERO" build. This combo works perfectly because "Masked Elemental HERO AcidSolid Soldier only needs a Water Attribute monster like " and "Liquid Soldier" are good monsters to Normal Summon, as they can Special Summon and a needed "HERO" monsters (usually "Shadow Mist" to search for "Mask Change card to be Summoned"). Lastly, due to their high recovery and "Honest Neos" is an ATK-booster for all "HERO" monsters, and "Sunrise" is a Fusion Monster with generic "HERO" Fusion Materials that can search out " won't be stopped by disabling Special Summons Miracle Fusion", a powerful Fusion Spell Card that can use monsters in the GY as their non-Fusion Monsters can stand on their own until Special Summoning is allowed againMaterials, allowing a Fusion Summon with zero card loss to the field advantage

Weaknesses
* "Elemental HERO" Decks monsters often lack protection on their own, and need generic protection has such the player can often easily have their field cleared by mass destruction cards outside of the archetypeand effects like "Dark Hole".* Unless you're using Pure "Masked HEROesElemental HERO", they monsters have very little Quick-Play weak disruption and Trap Cards to useoppression power, so they are unable having little ability to disrupt or prevent the opponent's plays, save for "Honest Neos" and "Absolute Zero".* "Gozen Match" is particularly annoying can significantly disrupt a pure "Elemental HERO" Deck due to their many Attributesvariety of Attributes.* FinallyAs all "Elemental HERO" non-Contact Fusion Monsters cannot be Special Summoned in other ways than Fusion Summon, cards like "Skill DrainNon-Fusion Area" and/or can lock these Fusion Monsters down. Furthermore, cards like "Angel O7Nekroz of Unicore" can cease and desist "HERO" have their effects, which would be significant against these Decks because without substantial Spell/Trap support, many of the negated.* As "Elemental HERO" monstersare mostly Warrior-Type, including quite a number of cards such as "HEROCipher Soldier" Fusion Monsters, do not possess significant sustainability stat-wise whilst on and the side deck "fieldWarrior Elimination" can pose as a threat to such decks.Archseries navbox
