In the anime, the draw effect of "Bubbleman" does not need the controller's hand to be empty to activate.


Season 1

  • In episode 6, Jaden Yuki uses this card during his Duel against Titan. He Special Summons this card from his hand as it was the last card in his hand. Jaden then activates this card's second effect to draw two cards. Jaden then activates "Bubble Shuffle" to switch this card and "Skull Archfiend of Lightning" to Defense Position, but Titan activates the effect of "Skull Archfiend of Lightning" to roll a die. Titan gets a two, so the effect of "Bubble Shuffle" continues, switching this card and "Skull Archfiend" to Defense Position. Jaden then activates the last effect of "Bubble Shuffle" to Tribute this card and Special Summon "Elemental Hero Bladedge".
  • In episode 14, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Jinzo. After he summons this card, Jaden equips this card with "Bubble Blaster", increasing its ATK by 800. This card then attacks and destroys "Spirit Caller", but Jinzo activates "Spirit Barrier" to make the Battle Damage he would take to 0 since he controls at least one monster. Later "Jinzo" attacks this card, but Jaden destroys "Bubble Blaster" in order to prevent this monster's destruction and to make the Battle Damage he would take 0. Later Jaden activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Mudballman".
  • In episode 19, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Dimitri while the latter was using Yugi Muto's deck. After Jaden summons this card, he activates "Skyscraper" and equips this card with "Bubble Blaster" which increases this card's ATK by 800. This card then attacks "Kuriboh", but Dimitri activates "Multiply" to Tribute "Kuriboh" and summon four "Kuriboh Tokens". A replay then occurs and Jaden uses this card to attack and destroy a token. Later "Dark Magician of Chaos" attacks this card, but Jaden destroys "Bubble Blaster" to prevent this card's destruction and make the Battle Damage 0. "Dark Magician Girl" (whose ATK was 2300 due to its own effect) then attacks this card. Due to the effect of "Skyscraper", this card gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation only. "Dark Magician Girl" then destroys this card.
  • In episode 21, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Bastion Misawa. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Sparkman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest", but Bastion activates "Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell to negate "Polymerization" and destroy it as well as forbid Jaden from activating "Polymerization" for the remainder of the Duel. In the next episode, Jaden summons this card in Attack Position. Since this card was summoned while Jaden had no cards on his side of the field, Jaden activates this card's effect to draw two cards. Jaden then equips this card with "Bubble Blaster", increasing its ATK by 800. This card then attacks and destroys "Mathematician". The effect of "Mathematician" then activates, allowing Bastion to add one card from his Deck to his hand. Later "Hyozanryu" attacks this card, but Jaden destroys "Bubble Blaster" to prevent this card's destruction and make the Battle Damage 0. "Water Dragon" then attacks and destroys this card. Jaden then activates "Hero Signal" to Special Summon "Clayman". Jaden then activates "The Warrior Returning Alive" to add this card from his Graveyard to his hand. Jaden then summons this card in Attack Position and activates "Bubble Shuffle" to switch this card and "Water Dragon" to Defense Position. Jaden then activates the last effect of "Bubble Shuffle" to Tribute this card and Special Summon "Bladedge".
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card can be seen when Jaden is rebuilding his Deck.
  • In episode 23, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Belowski. After he summons this card, Jaden activates this card's effect to draw two cards. He then activates "Hero Heart" to halve this card's ATK until the End Phase and allow it to attack twice this turn. Jaden then uses this card to attack and destroy a "Mokey Mokey". This activates the effect of "Mokey Mokey Smackdown", making the ATK of the remaining "Mokey Mokey" 3000 for this turn. Jaden then uses this card to attack one of the remaining "Mokey Mokey". Jaden then activates "Bubble Illusion" to activate one Trap from his hand. He then activates "Mirror Gate" from his hand to switch control of both battling monsters before damage calculation. The "Mokey Mokey" that Jaden took control of then destroys this card, winning Jaden the Duel.
  • In episode 25, Jaden used this card during his Duel against Chazz Princeton. After Jaden summons this card, he activates this card's effect to draw two cards. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Sparkman" in order to Fusion Summon"Tempest". Later Chazz activates the effect of "Armed Dragon LV5" to send "Despair from the Dark" from his hand to the Graveyard and destroy "Tempest", but Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Tempest" to the Extra Deck and revive this card, "Avian", and "Sparkman". This makes the effect of "Armed Dragon LV5" resolve without effect as its original target was no longer on the field. Later Chazz sends "Armed Dragon LV3" from his hand to the Graveyard in order to activate the effect of "Armed Dragon LV7", destroying this card, "Avian", and "Wroughtweiler".
  • In episode 27, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against the Gravekeeper's Chief. After Jaden summons this card, he activates this card's effect to draw two cards. The Chief then flips his set monster, "Gravekeeper's Guard". This activates the Flip Effect of "Gravekeeper's Guard", returning this card to Jaden's hand. In the next episode, Jaden discards this card and "Silent Doom" in order to activate "Transcendent Wings".
  • In episode 30, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Nightshroud. After he summons this card, Jaden activates this card's effect to draw two cards. After Jaden activates "Silent Doom" to revive "Sparkman", Jaden uses the effect of "Fusion Gate" to banish this card, "Sparkman", and "Avian" from his field and hand in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest".
  • In episode 33, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Camula. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Sparkman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest".

Later "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" attacks this card, but Jaden destroys "Bubble Blaster" to prevent this card's destruction and make the Battle Damage he would take 0. Jaden then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Mudballman".
  • In episode 38, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against the Admiral. He Special Summons this card from his hand via its own effect as it was the only card in his hand. Jaden then activates this card's second effect to draw two cards. After Jaden Normal Summons "Sparkman", he activates "Metamorphosis" to Tribute this card and Special Summon "Elemental Hero Neo Bubbleman".
  • In episode 45, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Amnael. After he summons this card, Jaden activates this card's effect to draw two cards. He then equips this card with "Bubble Blaster", increasing its ATK by 800. This card then attacks "Alchemy Beast - Salamandra the Steel", but Amnael activates "Elemental Absorber" and banishes "Aqua Spirit" from his hand to nullify the attack. Later Jaden activates "Burst Return" to return this card, "Clayman", and "Avian" to his hand. In the next episode, Jaden summons this card in Attack Position. Jaden then activates this card's effect to draw two cards. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Mariner". On the last turn of the Duel, Jaden activates "Miracle Fusion" to banish this card, "Burstinatrix", "Clayman", and "Avian" from the Graveyard in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Electrum". The effect of "Electrum" then activates, returning all banished monsters to their owners' Decks.
  • In episode 48, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Kagemaru. After he summons this card, Jaden activates this card's effect to draw two cards. On the final turn of the Duel, Jaden activates "Miracle Fusion" to banish this card, "Burstinatrix", "Clayman", and "Avian" from his field and Graveyard in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental HERO Electrum".
  • In episode 52, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Zane. He summons this card via "Hero Signal". Jaden then activates this card's effect to draw two cards. Later Jaden activates "Elemental Burst" to Tribute this card, "Clayman", "Burstinatrix", and "Avian" in order to destroy every card on Zane's side of the field. This card is later shown when Jaden counts up the number of Elemental HERO monsters in his Graveyard for the effect of "Shining Flare Wingman".

Season 2

  • In episode 53, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Aster Phoenix. After Jaden summons this card, he activates this card's effect to draw two cards. After Jaden activates "The Warrior Returning Alive" to add "Sparkman" from his Graveyard to his hand, he activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and "Sparkman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". After "Tempest" attacks and destroys "Archlord Zerato" (with the help of the effect of "Tempest"), Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Tempest" to the Extra Deck and revive this card, "Avian", and "Sparkman". All three of Jaden's monsters then attack directly, winning Jaden the Duel.
  • In episode 58, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Aster. After Jaden summons this card, he activates this card's effect to draw two cards. After Jaden activates "The Warrior Returning Alive" to add "Avian" from his Graveyard to his hand, he activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" and Sparkman" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest". In the next episode, Jaden adds this card and "Polymerization" from his Graveyard to his hand via the effect of "Wroughtweiler". On Jaden's turn, he summons this card in Attack Position and uses this card's effect to draw two cards. He then equips this card with "Bubble Blaster", increasing its ATK by 800. Jaden then uses this card to attack "Destiny Hero - Captain Tenacious", but Aster activates "D - Shield" to switch "Captain Tenacious" to Defense Position and equip it with "D - Shield". Due to "D - Shield", "Captain Tenacious". On Jaden's next turn, this card attacks and destroys "Destiny Hero - Doom Lord". Later Aster activates the effect of "Doom Lord" to banish this card for two turns. On Aster's second Standby Phase after activating this effect, this card did not return to the field for unknown reasons.
  • In episode 60, this card can be seen when Syrus Truesdale checks Jaden's Deck, after the latter claims that all his cards are blank.
    • In the same episode, Jaden drops this card and "Winged Kuriboh" from his hand during his Duel against Chazz when the former finds himself unable to Duel due to him being unable to see any of his cards.

Jaden then activates this card's effect to draw two cards. After Jaden activates "Pot of Greed", he equips this card with "Bubble Blaster", increasing its ATK by 800. After Jaden Normal Summons "Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird" and activates its effect to gain 1500 Life Points (500 for each card in Aster's hand), he uses this card to attack and destroy "Captain Tenacious". Later "Destiny Hero - Double Dude" attacks this card. Due to the effect of "Dark City", "Double Dude" gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation only. Jaden then destroys "Bubble Blaster" to prevent this card's destruction and make the Battle Damage he would take 0. On Jaden's next turn, he activates "Common Soul" to target this card and Special Summon "Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab". Since Aster controls two Spell/Traps, "Flare Scarab" gains 800 due to its effect. "Common Soul" then increases this card's ATK by the ATK of "Flare Scarab". This card then attacks and destroys "Double Dude". Aster then activates "Destiny Signal" to Special Summon "Destiny Hero - Defender". On Aster's next turn, he activates "Mystical Space Typhoon" to destroy "Common Soul". This returns "Flare Scarab" to Jaden's hand due to the last effect of "Common Soul" and reverts this card's ATK to its original value. Aster then uses one of his two "Double Dude Tokens" to attack and destroy this card.
  • In episode 71, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Lorenzo. He Special Summons this card via "Hero Signal". Jaden then uses this card's effect to draw two cards. Later this card attacks "B.E.S. Tetran". "B.E.S. Tetran" then destroys this card. Since "B.E.S. Tetran" battled while it had no counters, it is destroyed at the end of the Damage Step.
  • In episode 72, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Howard X Miller. He discards this card from his hand due the effect of "Purse with a Hole". Later Jaden activates "Miracle Fusion" to banish this card, "Avian", "Bubbleman", and "Clayman" from his Graveyard and Fusion Summon "Electrum". Jaden then activates the effect of "Electrum" to return all banished monsters to their owners' Decks. Jaden then summons "Sparkman", which causes "Monster Register" to send the top four cards of his Deck to the Graveyard due to "Sparkman" being Level 4. After "Electrum" and "Sparkman" attack "Neo-Spacian Glow Moss" and fail to destroy it or inflict Battle Damage due to "Super Guard" and "Recycle Barrier" respectively, Jaden activates "De-Fusion" to return "Electrum" to the Extra Deck and revive this card, "Avian", "Clayman", and "Burstinatrix". Jaden then uses this card, "Avian", "Clayman", and "Burstinatrix" to attack "Glow Moss" with "Super Guard" preventing its destruction and "Recycle Barrier" preventing X from taking Battle Damage. With each attack, X loses the top two cards from his Deck due to the effect of "Glow Moss", which leaves him with only two cards remaining in his Deck. Jaden then activates "Instant Fusion" to fuse this card, "Avian", "Burstinatrix", "Clayman" together and Fusion Summon "Electrum".
  • In episode 74, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Princess Rose. After he summons this card, Jaden uses this card's effect to draw two cards. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Mudballman".

After Jaden Fusion Summons "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant" via "Polymerization", Jaden activates "Metamorphosis" to Tribute this card and Special Summon "Neo Bubbleman".

After Orlando activates "Thousand Strings" to negate the attack "Shining Flare Wingman" made on "Genghis Ghan the Emperor Dragon" and reduce the ATK of all monsters on the field to 0, Jaden activates "Quick Summon" to Tribute Summon "Neos" by Tributing this card and "Elemental HERO Shining Flare Wingman".
  • In episode 96, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Dr. Eisenstein. After he summons this card, Jaden uses this card's effect to draw two cards. He then equips this card with "Bubble Blaster", increasing this card's ATK by 800. Jaden then activates "Hero Dice" to target this card and roll a die. Jaden gets a six, so this card can attack directly this turn. This card then attacks directly. Due to the effect of "Relativity Field", "Brain Dragon" loses ATK equal to the amount of Life Points that Eisenstein lost. Later Eisenstein activates "Mystical Space Typhoon" to destroy "Bubble Blaster", returning this card's ATK its original value. "Brain Dragon" then attacks and destroys this card.
  • In episode 102, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Sartorius. He summons this card on the first turn of the Duel. Jaden then activates this card's effect to draw two cards. He then equips this card with "Bubble Blaster", increasing its ATK by 800. Later "Arcana Force VII - The Chariot" attacks this card, but Jaden destroys "Bubble Blaster" to prevent this monster's destruction and reduce the Battle Damage he would take 0. Sartorius then activates "Divination of Fate" to Special Summon "Arcana Force VI - The Lovers" from his hand. On Jaden's next turn, he switches this card to Defense Position. After "Light Barrier" is activated, this card's effects are negated. In the next episode, "Arcana Force IV - The Emperor" attacks and destroys this card. The final effect of "Light Barrier" activates, increasing Sartorius's Life Points by this card's original ATK. In the following episode, Jaden activates "Fifth Hope" to return this card, "Avian", "Burstinatrix", "Clayman", and "Sparkman" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw three cards.

Season 3

  • In episode 113, this card is shown in Jaden's hand during his Duel against Mr. Stein. In the next episode, Jaden summons this card in Attack Position. Jaden then activates this card's effect to draw two cards. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" in order to Fusion Summon "Mariner".
  • In episode 118, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Thelonious Viper. After Jaden Normal Summons this card, he activates this card's effect to draw two cards. Jaden then activates "Bubble Rod" to equip the latter onto this card and increase its ATK by 800. On Jaden's End Phase, "Venom Swamp" places a Venom Counter on this card and decreases this card's ATK by 500. "Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes" then attacks and destroys this card. In the next episode, Jaden returns this card, "Avian", "Sparkman", "Clayman", and "Elemental Hero Wildedge" from his Graveyard to his Deck in order to activate "Fifth Hope".
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card also appears in Jaden's thoughts when he looks at his Deck and notes to himself that people put their hopes in him.
  • In episode 130, Jaden uses this card during his Tag Duel with Jesse Anderson against Marcel Bonaparte while the latter was possessed by Yubel. After Jaden Normal Summons this card, he activates this card's effect to draw two cards. He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" in order to Fusion Summon "Mariner". On Jaden's next turn, he activates "Fifth Hope" to return this card, "Avian", "Sparkman", "Elemental Hero Necroshade", and "Elemental Hero Darkbright" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw two cards.
  • In episode 132, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Sky Scout. After Jaden Normal Summons this card, he activates this card's effect to draw two cards. Later "Simorgh, Bird of Divinity" attacks and destroys this card.

Season 4

  • In episode 157, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Trueman. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Avian" in order to Fusion Summon "Mariner". Jaden then activates "De-Fusion" to return "Mariner" to the Extra Deck and revive this card and "Avian". Jaden then Tributes his two monsters in order to Tribute Summon "Neos".
  • In episode 158, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Trueman. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Clayman" in order to Fusion Summon "Mudballman".
  • In episode 159, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Atticus Rhodes. He Special Summons this card via "Hero Signal". Jaden then activates this card's effect to draw two cards. Later Jaden activates "Grade Sword", equipping it to this card and increasing this card's ATK by 300. Jaden then Tributes this card in order to Tribute Summon "Neos" (as "Grade Sword" allows this card to be treated as two Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a Warrior-type monster). Later Jaden banishes this card from his Graveyard in order to activate the second effect of "Hero's Guard".
  • In episode 170, during Jaden's Duel against Sartorius, Jaden was forced to send this card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard via "Sowing of the Fool". In the next episode, Jaden was forced to send another copy of this card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard via "Sowing of the Fool". On the last turn of the Duel, Jaden activates "Fifth Hope" to return "Elemental Hero Avian", "Elemental Hero Burstinatrix", one copy of this card, "Clayman" and "Bladedge" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw two cards.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, two copies of this card are shown in a flashback Jaden has when he realizes that Sartorius must have slipped "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" into his Deck when he was checking it.
  • In episode 172, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Jesse Anderson while the former was thinking that Jesse was Trueman (This was due to the darkness from "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" infecting Jaden's "Polymerization" card). He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Sparkman" and "Avian" in order to Fusion Summon "Tempest".
    • This card is also shown in a flashback Jaden has when he realizes his "Polymerization" must have been tainted with darkness by the "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" card Sartorius slipped in.
  • In episode 175, during Jaden's Triangle Duel with Jesse and Yusuke Fujiwara, Jaden is forced to send this card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard via the effect of "Clear Phantom". In the next episode, Jaden activates "Fifth Hope" to return this card, "Avian", "Burstinatrix", "Clayman", and "Wildheart" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw two cards.
  • In episode 178, this card can be seen in the background when Jaden makes his speech to Nightshroud about the bonds people can make with their Decks.
  • In episode 179, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Yugi. After he Normal Summons this card, Jaden activates this card's second effect to draw two cards. Later Yugi activates "Thousand Knives" to destroy this card. Miscellaneous

  • In the dub, this card's regular attack name is Bubble Blast. When equipped with "Bubble Blaster", its attack name becomes Bombarding Bubble Barrage.
