- This card is inspired by the anime effect of "Carboneddon": In the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime, "Carboneddon" could activate its effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon "Hyozanryu", but only if "Carboneddon" had 10 or more cards on top of it in the Graveyard, reflecting how diamonds are formed as a result of buried carbon deposits being subjected to high temperatures and pressure. (The Japanese name of "Hyozanryu" means "Diamond Dragon".)
- This card's name is a reference to the song "Under Pressure" by British rock band Queen and singer David Bowie.
