Advanced Crystal Beasts, known as Advanced Gem Beasts in the Japanese version, are a series of cards used by Jesse Anderson while under the possession of Yubel. They are wilder, more feral, and more armored versions of their original forms, complete with their own ace card, "Rainbow Dark Dragon" who rivals the mighty Rainbow Dragon. They are one of the few Archetypes to have no Monsters released into the actual card game. Crystal Beast-orientated Spell and Trap Cards also work on "Advanced Crystal Beasts" on the field, since their names are treated as the same as their normal "Crystal Beast" counterparts. But, they have a weakness: they can only be face-up on the field with the Field Spell Card "Advanced Dark" in play, otherwise they are destroyed. "Rainbow Dark Dragon", in the anime, can't exist without all of the "Advanced Crystal Beasts" on the Field, or in the Graveyard, otherwise it will be removed from play. So far, the Advanced Crystal Beasts have not been released in TCG or OCG, But "Rainbow Dark Dragon" has been released, albeit with modified Summoning conditions. The Field Spell "Advanced Dark" appears in the tag force games with an altered effect.
The archtype itself consists of 7 monsters Advanced Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus, Advanced Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth Advanced Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger, Advanced Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle, Advanced Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat, Advanced Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise, Advanced Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle.
