  • This card is named after the Judaic archangel, Metatron.
    • In the Jewish Kabbalah, Metatron is the archangel that presides over the sefirot Keter in the Tree of Life.
      • Fittingly, Keter is the first of the ten Sefira of the Tree of Life, and this card was the first "Timelord" monster Summoned by Z-one in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime.
    • In Jewish and Christian angelology, Metatron is originally a human named Enoch, who is said to have lived for 365 years who scended into Heaven without dying. Enoch is rewarded for his piety towards God by ascending into the chief archangel named Metatron, who was appointed as the scribe of God and served as His mediator with the humans.
  • This is the first "Timelord" monster to be released in the OCG/TCG.
  • In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, this is the only "Timelord" monster whose unique effect activates at the end of the Battle Phase, rather than at the end of the Damage Step.
    • Likewise, this card's effects are a combination of the effect of "Time Angel" (which returns the opponent's monsters to the hand), "Foolish Decision" (which reduces the controller's battle damage to 0), and "Magician's Adage" (which inflicts 300 damage to the opponent for each monster returned to the hand). Fittingly, Z-one makes use of all those cards in a combo in the same Duel right before this card's debut in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's episode 146146: "The Last Human, Z-ONE".
