- Weevil plays this card against Yugi in Duelist Kingdom and Joey in Battle City.
- This card was first used in Yugi and Weevil's duel at Duelist Kingdom. It was equipped to "Larvae Moth", so that way Weevil could summon out his ultimate monster. Although Yugi was able to destroy "Larvae Moth" with "Gaia the Fierce Knight" a turn early, Weevil was able to summon "Great Moth" in its place.
- Three "Cocoons of Evolution" were seen in the Legendary Heroes Arc. After Yugi activated "Mirror Force" to protect the group from attacking insects, it created a bunch of explosions that created a fire that disturbed the Cocoons. The Cocoons then hatched into "Great Moths", but Yugi was able to destroy them with "Catapult Turtle" who launched a "Kuriboh" swarm at the "Great Moths", destroying them.
- This card appeared again in Weevil and Joey's duel. Weevil equipped this card to "Larvae Moth", so that way Weevil could summon his ultimate monster. He was able to stall enough time with "Reckless Parasite", "Parasite Paracide" and "Insect Barrier". Five turns after equipping this card to "Larvae Moth", Weevil sent "Larvae Moth" to the Graveyard to summon out "Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth".
- Instead of Cocoon of Evolution being equipped to Petit Moth, the Petit Moth would be sent to the graveyard as Cocoon of Evolution would be Special Summoned in its place (The Cocoon can still be sent to the graveyard to special summon Great Moth or Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth using their effects).
- When Cocoon of Evolution is equiped, Weevil cannot play any cards until Great Moth is summoned.
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelist of the Roses, this card is an Equip Card.
