Yu-Gi-Oh!
- The anime version of this card was not a Continuous Spell Card but a Field Spell Card, though its effect could be used multiple times during the turn in which it was activated. Also, in the anime version, this card supposedly drains the very souls of the card holder's monsters, creating a form of energy known as Ectoplasm, which is fired directly at the card holder's opponent.
- In episode 61, Arkana uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. He activates this card as part of his plan to defeat Yami Yugi. Arkana activates this card's effect to select "Fiend" and Tribute "Doll of Demise" in order to inflict damage to Yami Yugi equal to half the ATK of "Doll of Demise". Arkana then activates this card's effect to select "Spellcaster" and Tribute his "Dark Magician" in order to inflict half its ATK as damage to Yami Yugi, but this Yami Yugi's "Dark Magician" is Tributed as well, causing the damage to be nullified. In the next episode, this card remained on the field until the Duel was over
- In episode 79, Yami Bakura uses this card during his Duel against Bonz. He activates this card as part of his winning move. Arkana activates this card's effect to select "Fiend" and Tribute "The Earl of Demise" in order to inflict damage to Bonz equal to half the ATK of "The Earl of Demise", which wins Yami Bakura the Duel. After he won, Yami Bakura took Bonz's five Locator Cards as per the Battle City Rules.
- Curiously, this card appeared to be played as a Field Magic Card.
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
- In this series, the card uses its TCG/OCG effect.
- In episode 14, Jinzo uses this card during his Duel against Jaden Yuki. He activates this card after summoning "Malice Doll of Demise". On Jinzo's End Phase, this card's effect activated, forcing Jinzo to Tribute "Malice Doll of Demise" and inflict half of its ATK as damage to Jaden. On Jaden's End Phase, this card's effect activated, forcing Jaden to Tribute his "Elemental HERO Avian" and inflict half of its ATK as damage to Jinzo. On Jinzo's next End Phase, this card's effect activated again, forcing Jinzo to Tribute "Malice Doll of Demise" and inflict half of its ATK as damage to Jaden. Jaden then summons his "Elemental HERO Clayman" and equips it with "Clay Wrap". He then activates "Polymerization" to fuse "Clayman" with "Elemental HERO Burstinatrix" in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental HERO Rampart Blaster". Because "Clay Wrap" was sent the Graveyard, its effect activates, allowing Jaden to destroy this card.
- In episode 29, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Jaden has when he remembers his previous experiences with actual Shadow Games.
Naming
- In the Spanish dub of the Anime, this card was known as "Axoplasma".
