- What appears to be an early version of "The Furious Sea King" was seen during Yugi's first Duel against Kaiba in the manga. "Battle Ox" destroyed it.
- "The Furious Sea King" is seen in Joey's hand in episode 1 of the second series anime.
- In episode 2 of the second series anime, when Yugi looks through Joey's Deck, this is one of the cards he sees.
- In episode 13, this card is shown in Yami Yugi's hand when he was dueling Yami Bakura. He was forced to discard this card due to the Flip Effect of "Morphing Jar".
- In episode 103, this card appears in the flashback relating to the events after Gozaburo Kaiba adopted Seto and Mokuba. This card is shown in Kaiba's Deck as he looks through it before finding a drawing of a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" card.
- In episode 116, this card appears in a flashback Kaiba has when he reminds Mokuba that after Gozaburo pushed him to his limits, he(Mokuba) inspired him by sneaking his Deck to him and giving him a drawing of a "Blue-Eyes Wihte Dragon" card which got him to promise himself that he will work until he got an actual "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" card.
